  1. Hahahahahah I just LOVE the spirit in our dressing room
  2. Hey, I'm not in any way advocating for Labor. I know enough about them to realize what a joke of a party they are. You have to look at who finances the Tories and UKIP and what they want in return as well as who they are and what lobby they serve. And that means that despite doing occasional things for working class, when it comes down to it on important issues such as taxes, surveillance, budget spending, foreign policies and wars, spending on public services...etc. they will most likely protect the interest of the people that paid to put them in office in the first place. Regarding SNP, I know you're English, but you can try to be a bit less condescending about it! Please tell me you see the incredible double standards you use there? Those are people that you (the English) have ruled over for centuries (very often not at all kindly) and to this day take advantage of their resources more than they do. Regardless of that, they are part of the political system (and from what I saw most English people were VERY keen to keep them as a part of it last year) and should be considered equals. I'm sorry but this kind of intolerant rhetoric about "the bloody Scotts that will ruin England for their own good" comes across as very offensive and verging on racist. From what I've read about the libdems they don't seem to be holding back the Tories but rather rolling over for them. I honestly wasn't trying to say it was certainly beneficial as I already stated I don't know all the details about it in the UK, but my point was that knowing politicians and right wing parties, it is most likely not nearly the most significant issue as is being portrayed but rather it is being used as cover up for the bigger issues, imo.
  3. I'm sorry, but that's an incredible over-simplification. Naturally there are a few gaps in the logic as a result. Firstly, immigrants create jobs as well. And not just by starting new business by by expanding the market and creating new markets for new products. Immigrants don't just just work, they consume as well. I'm no expert on Britain but all the studies I've read about in papers and such show that immigrants actually improve the British economy as mentioned above. Secondly, you're assuming that the low-skill jobs that the immigrants are currently taking would remain in England once the immigrants are gone. Honestly, that's pretty naive. The only framework for corporations is to maximize profit at any cost. The moment that production elsewhere is more profitable, namely through relatively much cheaper labor costs, the big corporation will relocate to east Europe and such taking with them not just the jobs occupied by immigrants but jobs occupied by British people. Finally the link you make (or imply) between large numbers of unskilled workers and poor economies not at all always true. Just look at the past 50 years or so, all the big economies that have risen have taken advantage of just that, mainly in east Asia, but also some South American countries. But regardless of the above, I do know a little about the social and economical issues that the UK is facing at the time, and the fact that some have managed to convince the British people that all their problems can be pinned on immigrants is quite remarkable and frankly frightening. Because 'immigrants' is a very cheap excuse that plays to tribal territorial instincts of the people, but it is used a cover up for much bigger issues. There are other solutions that are a lot more logical. You want better wealth distribution? Simply tax the super rich. Crack down on the enormous tax evasions of multinational corporations. You want more jobs? Then make a law that forces corporations to have the majority of their employees inside the UK instead of the sweat shops in east Asia, Africa and South America. Or how about, god forbid, moving away from fossil fuel companies and forcing policies towards green renewable energy that not only doesn't fry your grandchildren but also creates 3 times more jobs. You want better budgets for education/medical care...etc.? Then protest the huge investments in arms and military and war. Here's another over simplification but one that I think holds a lot more truth: The reason that you don't have enough money is because there are 1% of the population who are taking more than 90% of the wealth of the nation. And that will remain the case regardless if there are 5% or 15% immigrants in the country.
  4. Bale+Ronaldo+50m and then maybe we'll talk..
  5. I've enjoyed the utd and Arsenal matches more than the vast majority of matches this season. Big close matches where we managed to control the play as we wanted and get the results we needed. I enjoy real competitiveness and great tactical battles a lot more than mindless attacking football. That's why I watch the EPL and the Serie A but not La Liga. But that's just me...
  6. It's kind of weird seeing a foreign election from a distance. I know you must have your reasons, but I just can't see, from my position, why anyone in the middle/lower-middle class would vote for a party that is dedicated for the upper class and the protection of the interest of concentrated private power. PS: What's so bad about the Labour SNP coalition?
  7. Already surpassed Boga in ability and potential, imo.
  8. Lest we forget: Exactly one year ago yesterday, Demba scored the goal that saved English football and the whole world in general. Forever our hero
  9. Not by any means a video expert, but I enjoy them...Sue me
  10. Yes and the cartoonists at Charlie Hebdo lost their lives as a consequence of their racist opinions and provocation and insulting of people with a certain faith. Does that make it okay? "His freedom of speech is not at jeopardy" yet he just lost his job and had his life messed up because of a political opinion that has absolutely nothing to do with his work. NO. Company should NOT be able to sack people based on opinions and beliefs especially when they have nothing to do with the actual work. That is at the very core of the freedom of speech, expression and beliefs. Just like companies in the USA for example should not be allowed to sack people because they are democrats or republicans, and are punished if they refuse to hire qualified people that are Hindu or homosexual and should not be able to choose if they serve customers that are transsexual or black. So this is at the very heart of freedom and civil rights and the hypocrisy of when and for whom they seem to apply or don't according to whether the opinion lies inside or outside the state approved narrow margin of allowed opinions in which 'democracy' as we know it only exists.
  11. No, Jose chose Azpi when Bertrand was clearly the most logical option because he had an illogical assessment of Bertrand's abilities which has proven to be wrong.
  12. Assume that the above is all true, does it mean that he should lose his right for free speech and expression because his opinion is unpopular, even ludicrous? Should he lose his job because of his political interpretations? Charlie Hebdo is a racist propaganda machine, does that mean they deserved to die? As long as freedom of speech is onlu protected when we agree with the content then it's not freedom, just sensoring.
  13. Reminiscent of 2012 Ramires. Absolutely brilliant running at Arsenal on the counter.
  14. Any news on his condition? If what was going around about him not knowing where he is, then he's definitely concussed. Medical team takes the blame for not getting him off if that is indeed the case.
  15. Absolute legend, not just of Chelsea but a legend of the EPL and football in general. On par with football legends such as Nesta, Pirlo, Ronaldo...etc. Not much more can be said about this brilliant brilliant man except maybe that he's also one of the best skippers in football history. The love and emotions I have for this man and what he represents of football and Chelsea cannot be put into words
  16. 10 points clear at the end of April.. Now just imagine how we're going to dominate next season with Yoshinori Muto in the team!
  17. "I think this was John Terry’s greatest ever performance for me, it was amazing, out of this world." - Jose Mourinho
  18. Can't possibly look beyond JT for the MOTM. His reading of the game, his heading, his movement, his intercepting, his celebration (passion)...etc. Simply world class performance
  19. I swear, if some people in this thread don't grow up and start acting their age, I'm locking it.
  20. Well you "got away with it too" because I did not war or punish you in any way, I was just pointing it out for future posts. It is clear from the second part of your post that you are well capable of expressing what you want in a respectable manner, so please do so in the future. And btw, Talk Chelsea is the ONLY Chelsea forum that you are allowed to voice unpopular opinions and get protection from the mods. That has always been the case here.
