  1. The last time Man Utd had won their first 5 games of the season, they lost the league. Theres a positive.
  2. I was gonna start a similar thread. If it was Barcelona, they would have smashed 6 past Man Utd. Lets accept it. We lost it cus we couldnt finish our chances. And Man Utd won cus they were lucky with an offside goal and a deflected ball that fell right under rooney's foot. I honestly, dont think man Utd are class apart. We were the better team, in the sense that we carved them out and should have been 2-1 up in the first half. If it wasnt for Torres and Ramirez. And then Torres missing that open chance and hitting it over the top of the bar in second half, pretty much summed up our game. We created and created but just couldnt finish. An In form striker, be it Torres or Drogba and we would have been 4-3 or 5-4 up. So lets take the positives. New manager, and new team with new strikers and new midfield, we did play great at OT, its just that the finishing wasnt up to the mark. But its just the 5th game of the season for fuck sake. We somehow got to get our strikers back in form, and when they do, We will be pretty much there with Man Utd. Another positive is, Man Utd didnt create much untill we were left chasing the game after two goals. So, lets just be patient. Its not as dire as it was last season. Just get the CF scoring and we should be up there. Positives: The midfield and the creativity was superb. We absolutely carved them out. Torres looked good apart from his finishing. But lets face it, he aint gonna get it back in one game, but atleast he scored a goal and looked superb. Anelka was great too and so was meireles and Bosingwa. Negatives: Finishing from Torres and Ramirez. I dont know if it was nerves that had to do with it, but imagine being 2-0 or 2-1 up at OT. We lost the game cus of our finihsing. We were the better team. Mata had an ok game. Nothing great. He let nani go through on his goal and should have tackled him. Lets just say man utd were lucky with an offside and a lucky goal. LONG LONG way to go though and i am still positive about our game, cus the midfield and strikers look good. we just need Drogba and torres back in form.
  3. Looking at united back 4 I'd be disappointed if we didn't score atleast a goal. I think we should win the considering united's weak backline.
  4. We have a great record there. A point is satisfactory a win would be bonus and that will shut the media up
  5. It has got to be the following first 11. Only question is Anelka or Torres. But my gut feeling is Torres as he has had a good record against Man Utd. ----------------Cech---------------- ----Bos------Iva---Terry---Cole ------------ ---Meireles------------ -------Ramirez----Lampard------- Studge---------Torres------Mata in a free role. Sub: Kalou, Anelka, Malouda, Josh, Turnbull, Luiz, Bertand. Just cus Luiz scored a goal against Leverkusen doesnt mean he warrants a start. He should have bee sent off in that game. Key to the game is Stop their wingers and that should choke them.
  6. Weird, I thought Chelsea was the only team in premier league history who has more wins against Man Utd than Man Utd has against them. Chelsea has the best Record for an Away team at OT. Man Utd vs Chelsea in Premier League: P38 W11 D14 L13 So the point is we know how to beat them more than they know how to beat us in the league. I never compared us to the mediocre Arsenal and Bolton. I just merely stated that media and fans wetting their pants after Man Utd scored few goals against teams that have been miserable. THEY ARE NOT AS GOOD AS YOU FEAR!!
  7. I cant help but think Man Utd's performances are exaggerated. Look at Blackburn, they put 4 past Arsenal and that too with Gervinho and some experienced players in the team. Atleast this team was much better compared to the reserve team that got hammered by 8 goals. Bolton has 0 shots on target. compared that to 6 on target from Norwich. Norwich already leading by 2 goals at half time and should have had more. No wonder Man Utd scored 5. Feeling much confident now..
  8. We already have a thread for this. Same topic different words
  9. Hopefully gets a chance to show case his talent this weekend.
  10. I can't believe fans want to bench the best RB in the league at the moment. Seriously get a grip guys. What's even more puzzling is the same guys want Luiz in the defense considering Both of them are weak defensively.
  11. This Sunday is the real test. Doesnt get any bigger than this for him. Was only 11 years of age when Fergie first managed Man Utd and now he takes him on in the opp dugout.
  12. I was one of those who thought he was similar to malouda in the sense he wasnt direct and was slow. But boy have I been proved wrong here. The best signing since Robben so far. The guy is cute, down to earth and superb. Very Zola'esq (apart from the cute part). I think every generation of Chelsea's squad has had an all time fan favourite contendor. It was Zola in the mid nineties, then Lampard in the last decade and this decade I believe it has got to be Mata.
  13. Initially it was yes. But 1 goal in 23 games for a striker even on free transfer would be ridiculed by the media.
  14. Great going forward but has to work alot on defending. He has played 12 games for us since he came and he should have been sent off twice apart from conceding three penalties and a big mistake at OT and stoke These are his failures in defense in only his 12 games for us. Hence they are being highlighted. Yes he has scored but like Torres is not bought to provide assists Luiz is not bought to score.
  15. Well our buys, who have been second choices have turned out an absolute steal and a blessing in disguise. We missed out on 38m Pastore and ended with 23m Mata.....What a buy he has been so far. We missed out on 40m Modric and ended with a 12m Meireles....So far he looks a steal for 12m
  16. I just hope and pray that our players dont have the mentality and attitude of some of the fans on here.
  17. It was just a "Mata" of time before we all moved on from Joe Cole 10. I hate these Mata jokes but couldnt resist this one.
  18. But you forget. He lacks confidence and if he had missed that people would slack him for not passing it on to an open player and carry on ridiculing him and talking about how pathetic is finishing is.
  19. He is in charge of running the academy. Don't think he scouts them
  20. Doubt that will happen. But ME reports to AVB as any youth or reserve targets are signed after getting the green from AVB. ME himself said that. I don't think Hiddink will be doing that. If he comes in he will want a control over all transfers like Arnesen had.
  21. Davila isn't first team signing. ME is scouting for youth/reserve. Whereas Arnesen interfered with first team signings and hence Mou had issues. Now if you get some one as powerful as Hiddink our manager would have the same issues as Ancelotti. Right now AVB has control on transfers. And Btw Mata was AVB signing as well. Everyone signed have spoken about talking to AVB and hr apparently told them how he wanted to fit them in this team. We ne'er heard this from our manager since Arnesen came in. So I hope we refrain from brining a powerful man on top of AVB. Right now I like the way we are structured.
  22. If he gets a winner at OT all will be forgotten.
  23. I don't want GuuS as Technical Director. Right now our manager has full control over transfers and Emanelo has no say on first team targets. If Guus comes in we will revert back to Arnesen - Manager model where Arnesen selects players. I read somewhere that the first thing AVB did after joining Chelsea was to call up his contacts/scouts in England and asked for Top young talents in England. Hence we saw us going in for Lulaku, Romeu who AVB wanted to sign for Porto, KDB, Thibault and others
