^ I can see the point that you are trying to make. But basically, we bought Torres because Roman has (or had) this obsession with signing a "marquee striker". Yes, perhaps Torres was preferred to Aguero (who would have cost 20m less) and co. because he has proven he can play in the Prem. But once that 50m fee was brought up, someone should have said, no. If this was the Torres of 2009, then it's a different story. Of course, hindsight is a wonderful thing. But those running the club should have known better.
