I still think we need a better DM. Romeu seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. This whole Barca "will he go will he stay" thing is going to become a fiasco as well. Essien is okay for now but if we can get a decent offer (18m that Juve are apparently going to offer) then we should let him go. It shouldn't be our priority atm since we need to focus on attacking midfielders and wingers but still, for the long term we need someone potentially world class if Romeu isn't committed/good enough

Agree, he did well. Obviously not the Lampard of old but compared to his performances this season it was much improved. Which only annoys me even more.

Agree that Luiz wasn't impressive. He was okay but we missed Ivanovic. Hope this proves to some that he does well in an attacking sense when played at CB simply because a central defender would naturally get more space than a midfielder or a fullback.

This has been on my mind for the last few days as well. It honestly isnt as far fetched as it sounds. Roman must have known that quite a few players wouldn't perform under AVB and/or respect him. I would be delighted if it were the case but not getting my hopes up.

Re: the Torres issue, my point actually is that the first XI was very poor IMO and I can't believe some of those players were chosen. Only two of Meireles, Mikel & Lampard should have been played. Or maybe only one! This is Stoke at home for crying out loud! Having all 3 of Torres/Mata/Sturridge on the bench means that with the Ivanovic injury, only 2 can come on. Rightly so, Sturridge & Mata came on. But one of them should have been playing Premier League should be our absolute priority atm!

I don't mind Torres being on the bench. But the fact that the other 2 were there itself automatically means that 2 substitutions are used up. Why were Mata & Sturridge on the bench? Especially Mata? Premier League should be our priority.
