LOL. And they put that beneath a picture of him smiling -
MADNESS Hope we let Turnbull go though. Can't believe we're paying these 2 guys probably 50-60k a week

Think he's fine

JT out of the game. Fuck.

I'm studying a Banking & Finance degree from the University of London - its an overseas course, I'm actually in Singapore. Still in my 1st year but I'm enjoying it

Luiz at DM? No, no, no, no, no, no. This is not the game to be experimenting in, jfc. Anyway I think Luiz would be an absolute disaster at DM, but there is no proof to back this up yet. The stoke game should prove that fullback is not the role for him. Now he needs to play as a DM in a game to show us whether or not he can do it. But away at City is NOT the game to experiment!!!
-
Yeah absolutely. But what I meant was... If you look at the whole picture, It's not all that impressive. Sure, for us it's great. I mentioned in my post that it's obvious the players are happier etc. But based on those results you can't say that we're suddenly ready to beat the best teams in the world. Again, not saying we can't win. I believe in the lads. But I'm also realistic enough to understand that we're nowhere near the powerhouse we once were so for us to win is not just a simple matter of us playing well. We haven't played consistently well in 20 over months.

I'm not as optimistic as some of you lol. Like Blionheart mentioned on the previous page, we've won four games in a row, yeah, but two were two championship sides, one was a 10-man team and also a game where the old guard took matters into their own hands, similar to the Newcastle-Valencia-City games in December. Obviously the players are much happier now that AVB is gone and the mood is better, but the lack of quality is still evident. Our defense is still as shaky as it was previously, etc. Of course, there are more positives now as compared to two weeks ago, but let's not get carried away. I'm not saying we shouldn't support the team. I'll cheer the lads on, as always. And I'm not saying that we'll definitely lose 5-0. We certainly have a chance of winning, but it's going to be tough. City are under a lot of pressure after a terrible few weeks.

Yeah I made this point a few pages back as well. He's been disastrous whenever he's had a defensive role against decent opposition. Everytime he plays higher up the field he does a good job
-
It's good to see that he's making very few mistakes. Most of the goals he concedes are the type which he can do nothing about. Keep it up, Thibaut. Very excited about this guy.
-
Good display but let's consider the opposition. However when he was played higher up in the last few minutes he was very good indeed. That's where he should be played, not in DM.

I've noticed it takes the site a few hours to change your avatar after you've changed it in your settings.

Damn...

Please, are you kidding? He had some great runs and showed good skill. That long ball from the defence which he took down SUPERBLY, the messi-esque goal he almost scored near the end. I agree he was extremely selfish. I am not going to defend him about that. It pissed me off too. But we need him IMO. We can't play both Drogba and Torres. Can't trust Malouda and Kalou.
-
I'd rather get Liverpool now than in the final. If we lose to them in the final it would be heartbreaking
-
I disagree. I think Sturridge will be extremely useful against City. Yes he is selfish but he brings a lot to our attack.
-
I always thought he was. But all 5 goals were his fault. Should have come out for cahill's header. Should have saved kalou's goal. He could have dived for torres's first. Abysmal for torres's second. The fifth also absolute rubbish. What a ridiculous display by him.

How was the atmosphere mate

Click on the arrow (i think its an arrow... Am on my phone atm so not 100% sure) in the top right hand corner of the page, where your username is listed. A small window will open. Click on the button that says something like 'manage ignore preferences' and add the person's username there

We fucked it up by not sending him on loan in the summer. AVB/the board should have made a decision on whether they were going to utilize him or not. It's always hard for players to join a club in January and expect to fit in straight away. Especially when the club you're joining already works SO well as a unit. It's harsh to blame them for not starting him. But he should be getting some minutes off the bench, definitely. And he should start once in a while. I think he's only started in the FA cup for them??
-
Keep it up, Fernando.

Let's not forget this was Leicester and their defending was dreadful. Torres showing the confidence of his Liverpool days though. Rather than the goals (which were average), his dribbling was SUPERB. BUT he must keep this up. He can't let himself get lost again or it'll all be for nothing. Also schmeicel (sp) is a JOKE of a goalkeeper. How is he even playing at that level. He's shit even for Sunday league. Wow! All the goals were his mistake. One of the most shambolic displays by a goalie that I've seen in recent memory. Good job Torres, keep it up. Sturridge was selfish but the hate is a bit excessive IMO. I was criticizing him a lot in his player profile and there were 2 or 3 moments today when it was 2-0 that he made mistakes by not passing, but he doesn't deserve this much hate. Malouda with a good display off the bench. Glad mata got rested. This is how you rest players. Not put them on the bench like what happened against stoke last week and have to bring them on when things aren't going our way. Play them, get a cushioned lead, and take them off. Bertrand with another solid display. Got forward better than previous games but caught out a couple of times in the 2nd half. But a good display. Well done lad. I don't like how Leicester controlled the game after the 2nd half started. Nugent was troubling Bosingwa way too much. I know we won, but it was Leicester for crying out loud and defensively still shambolic at times. No idea why when Iva, Cahill and Luiz are solid defenders. We seem to have a 10-15minute period in every game where it's like our players forgot the word "defend". Anyway good win, great to be in the semis. Let's work hard for City.
