  1. IF they do well, it will have nothing to do with them being legends at the club. If the players aren't going to show respect to Carlo fucking Ancelotti, what makes you think they care about what di Matteo and Newton have done? So while it's nice for us fans to see them here, the players don't give two shits about that. Maybe some will prefer di Matteo's style over AVB's, but if there is an improvement it won't have anything to do with the fact which manager they respect more.
  2. I don't think anyone considers him a world class CB at the moment but imo he certainly has the potential to become one.
  3. I'm very curious to see how he does. We know almost nothing about his managerial style.
  4. Was about to post that. Absolutely love him.
  5. We can all probably agree that he had a horrible game on Saturday. Everything he tried didn't work out. Simple passes were over-hit/under-hit, those two shots that he had weren't taken properly, etc etc I'm not criticizing him! What I'm trying to say is... do you now get the feeling that he knew that it would be AVB's last game if we failed to win? Remember that free-kick we had right at the end in the 94th minute when Cech went up for it as well? Cole was lying injured on the ground at the other end so there was a brief stoppage in play and the camera was on Juan for 30-40 seconds and he looked so shaken up. And he completely screwed that set piece up. It was terrible and they cleared it easily. I dunno, I was just thinking about the players that supported AVB - Mata, Luiz and co. - and was trying to imagine how they're feeling right now and I started thinking about this.
  6. I think from the time you opened the nominations post, closed it, created a poll and closed the poll, less than 24 hours had passed
  7. What difference does it make? Why do we have a fuckin academy anyway? None of these players are going to get a proper chance. Might as well save that money and put it towards Roman's new yacht
  8. Getting these cancerous players out is the most important thing. Once that is done, the new manager - whoever he is - can come in and start a proper rebuilding process and not have to encounter any problems in that sense. The majority of our talented and younger players are still alright. The likes of Luiz, Ivanovic, Cahill, Ramires, Mata, Sturridge and Torres probably were not involved in any of the behind the scenes shit. And these are also the players that we want to keep as our spine (possibly with the exception of Torres lol) so that's a positive thing. As long as one of the troublemakers remains, we will not be able to move on.
  9. There's still a loooong way to go this season. If he fucks up badly enough against Birmingham, Napoli and the next few Prem games, he could get the sack as well. I won't be surprised if this happens if the rumour that he's more hated than AVB is true
  10. Right now, JT obviously comes off as the better "legend" and better man. But as manpe rightly said a couple of pages back, he hasn't been dropped yet so we don't know how he would react when that happens. Also he's stayed largely in the background due to injuries and the racism case. We do not know what he was or was not involved with. That isn't true imo. I saw the whole thing as a ploy by him to increase his own salary here. He kept stalling for quite some time and came out of the whole thing with a raise and a "match highest earner" clause inserted in his contract (If I'm not wrong) so it's naive to assume that JT rejected City's fortunes and stayed with us playing for pitiful wages My dad (Liverpool fan) said to me last year that it's just easier to accept that there's not much loyalty in football anymore.
  11. Steve is not going to be pleased. There already is a Frank Lampard thread in the player profiles forum. Please stop creating new threads every time someone has an opinion to share.
  12. Don't forget the 80m spent on Sheva and Torres. Just sayin
  13. Henrique... youre mistaken if you think the nightmare is over. I think this nightmare will never end
  14. And again, I ask - why should we/the club discuss managers like di Matteo, Zola, Moyes when they are all unproven just like AVB. Moyes has done a good job at everton but he's still a wild card. What was the point in sacking AVB if you're going to look for similar options
  15. There is NO CHANCE that the players actually respect him. If there are good results, it's PURELY because they want to celebrate the ousting of AVB and send the "message" that they have won. Like TX said, what makes you think that the players give two shits about the things that RDM has done at the club
  16. Jesus Christ what is the fucking point in taking David Moyes after just having sacked AVB?! Neither are proven at the 'top' level. Yeah Moyes has been in the prem for a long time but Hodgson was the same and turned out to be a disaster at Liverpool. Moyes is much more experienced yeah but if the club isn't willing to give AVB time then what is the fucking point of all of this. Fuck this. I am so angry.
  17. I honestly think it will end up being either Benitez or Capello. What a fucking joke.
  18. Thank you to all for mentioning & voting for me. I'm still distraught after today's events! But thanks to all. I love interacting with all of you. This first-class forum gets better every day.
  19. Oh wow, that pardew interview is class! I'm not a fan of Ray Wilkins and agree with Sam that he never criticizes the players. But those comments by Pardew are superb.
  20. Best post I've read in a long time. Would give rep but have used up my daily quota. Anyway, superb post. 100% agreed.
  21. I said this in the other post as well, but I think most of the fans who regularly go to games were very anti-AVB for dropping the old guard, etc. Plenty even sang "you're getting sacked in the morning" yesterday so there's no chance of them showing any support for him. They'll just sing the same old 'Jose Mourinho' shit instead of trying to send a message to the clueless board Meanwhile, Jose will be laughing his ass off. It would be HILARIOUS if roman and the club approach him in the summer and he releases a statement saying he's happy at Real and has no intention of moving.
  22. I agree with FB (but not his opinions) that we'll probably see a run of good results now. We might even beat Napoli. Because these disgraceful players will want to send out a message that they have won. And the delusional fans will accept it and use it as evidence that AVB was the problem, not the players.
  23. Click on this thread and this is the first post I get taken to :(
