Closed FA Cup Final - Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool

nah don't think so tbh. He was smiling and laughing along with the rest of them. He's just not as outgoing as the African lads or Lampard/JT/Cole etc. Also he understandably didn't want to seem too delighted since he'd just beaten his old club where he basically made his name as a world superstar. Behind the scenes he was definitely keeping to himself. In the background of the Drogba interviews you could see him sitting in his seat fiddling around with his phone while everyone else was dancing and knocking things over lol Don't think it's anything to worry about. Even in the Spain celebrations he wasn't like the others. -
Yeah I know but I was mainly referring to games under Roberto & against our direct rivals. The spurs 0-0 irritated me more than last Wednesday's result
-
Not only the Newcastle one but also the spurs 0-0 at home a month back when none of the players turned up.
-
Think spurs will win that one. Newcastle to drop points. Don't know which arsenal will turn up.
-
Thanks lol just looked at the table. It's too much of a long shot. Need 2 of the 3 to los/draw right? Can't see that happening tbh. And too risky!! What if an important player gets injured?! We're already missing 4 key players
-
Wait. For us to get 4th, what has to happen? We have to win both, obviously. Do spurs and newcastle BOTH have to lose next weekend? Or will just one do?
-
Yeah I agree. I think he can do an okay job. I think he should be given a one year contract.
-
Also, it's naive to think that we would be doing fantastic in the league if Roberto had been the manager all season. Sure, we would have done better than the AVB period, but let's not forget these players are only performing at such a high level because of the magnitude of the occasions.
-
No. Lampard, Terry, Cole, Drogba, Malouda, Essien, Ferreira etc are all either over 30 or in the case of Essien, past it. Add to that players who aren't good enough like Kalou and Bosingwa. There NEEDS to be some form of rebuilding. Not just this summer but over the next 2 years. You're crazy if you think that just by winning possibly two trophies, nothing has to change. This is the same stupid brainless mentality that stopped the real transition from happening after Moscow in 08 or even after the double in 2010.
-
It's not just about the identification and signing of players. The manager has to change set-ups, tactics etc with these new arrivals and also his man-management style has to adapt. Im not saying he cannot do it. Just that it's a question mark.

Cech Ferreira - Ivanovic - JT - Bertrand Meireles - Romeu Ramires - Malouda - Sturridge Torres Play all 4 that will miss the CL final. Can't afford to play Lampard, Drogba, Cole and co. in case they get injured. We'll be well and truly fucked if that happens. Edit: Forgot about Essien. I'd go with Sir Trollington's line-up.

So happy to beat those cunts. This was the one they wanted to win. They were happy with the Carling Cup and all but this was the one that they really wanted and they actually thought they had it in the bag. They've been saying for god knows how long they're gonna win the cups and all that bullshit well FUCK OFF you didn't win this one la la la la la -
LOL. I said that he's a "superb player", cant you read? He's still a cunt.
-
Can we just give this a rest? Yeah Gerrard's a cunt and seeing him unhappy is always delightful, but this comparison is so old[/] now. Both are superb players for their respective clubs. Let's leave it at that.
-
And btw im not hating on him for no reason. I'd be pretty damn pleased if he got the job. But I'm just not getting carried away because there are still a thousand questions to be asked about this team. About 7-8 key players need to leave/become squad players. That's a major transition which also means new players coming in who don't know Roberto. How will he handle all of that? I think the best solution for this would be to give him a one year contract. Nothing more at first. But we need to think about all the managers that are potentially available.
-
Yes I agree. I guess I was just stereotyping what the British people/media look out for in central defenders lol
-
X 100 We've still not seen him actually change a game. His tactics from the start are pretty good. Against barca they were exceptional. But he's never really adapted things during games. I agree with the guy who said he isn't the right person to take us into our transitional season. Roberto's achievements this season are very very good indeed. However I would contribute most of them to his man management skills. He got the likes of Drogba, Lampard, Cole and co. to WAKE UP. I don't know how effectively we can judge his results. It would be hard not to give him the job but it would be fucking painful if roman sacked him next season
-
He was awful in the 2nd half. Got dominated way too easily.
-
During the celebrations on the pitch when JT went over to Petr you could hear JT say unbelievable obviously referring to THAT save
-
Glad he's decided to make his (likely) last season here memorable. Plenty of people just thought that he'd end it without giving a fuck and I admit I was one of them. But incredible effort and performances against Valencia, Napoli, Spurs, Barcelona X2 and now yesterday have paid off.
-
True, his first touch has improved quite a bit over the season. If his finishing had been this good earlier on he'd easily be on 20 goals by now. Still, what a player. He'll get better and better.
-
Another important goal. What a season he's had! But was surprised to see him so tired. He looked completely knackered after only 30mins. Good decision by Roberto to take him off.
