Great signing, we really need someone with the confidence to run at defenders with the ball at their feet. Not attempt a stepover and fall over like Kalou, and not run into the defender like Torres. We really have nothing to lose with this signing. 6 million is peanuts these days. Even if it doesn't work out, we can sell him 18-24 months later and get back at least that amount or maybe even more. Welcome Marko!

lol "we've got torres on the bench to score goals" sorry but in terms of goal scoring I don't trust Torres any more than Sturridge. That goal yesterday hasn't changed anything in that aspect. I get your point but I don't think he's that much of a liability defensively. It's exaggerated imo. And without Ramires it's not as if we have any fantastic options on the right. Anyway imo he should definitely be on the bench as an option at least.

Why shouldn't Sturridge even be on the bench? What if we go a goal down? We need someone who can change a game. Yes Sturridge has been poor but if not him then we have to rely on fucking kalou

If Ivanovic really did not know he was a booking away from the final (he might have been dazed during the postmatch interview) then its quite shocking honestly. How did they not let them know during the preparation & prematch briefing?! There should have been some emphasis on keeping their cool.

His tackle was on mascherano right? It was a total dive if that was the one. Unlucky to get the yellow but then again he committed 3 or 4 fouls throughout the game so I guess it might have been justified

And player of the season too with these 2 performances against Barca. Mata has been great in a different way and very difficult to decide between the two but Ramires has been more consistent and even though Mata's got more quality, Rambo edges it imo

Was just watching the 2nd half again and he made an absolutely crucial interception from Xavi's pass right before Ashley pumped it forward to Torres. If he hadn't made that, the ball would have reached one of two Barca players who had only Cech to beat. A certain goal. Heroes all over the pitch yesterday.

No one is saying that he's this world class player or anything. He's distinctly average technically. And if you're looking for individual mistakes, there are dozens in every game. What about Ashley Cole's defending during Napoli's third in the 3-1 loss? That was even worse. his passing is bad but he's a great squad option to have.

He's been outstanding in the bigger games this season. Had some problems here and there in the others but when it counted Big Pete was always there to save us. He kept us in it against both Napoli and Benfica, making stunning saves in all 4 of those games. And now against Barca.... Someone should make a video of all his saves in the knockout rounds this season

2 superb performances. All people see are his missed passes and completely ignore the work that he's put in over the 180 minutes. Constantly harrying the Barca players and never letting them have any breathing space at all. He did the job he was supposed to, and he did it brilliantly considering how much of an "average" player he is in pretty much all aspects. Also, he's the only one of the four who miss out on the final who actually got booked for something football related so he took one for the team. Agree with warnie when he was begging the ref not to give the yellow I felt so horrible for him. Can't believe people want to sell him. No way he should be a starter but he is more than capable of being a rotational player and I hope he's proved that to most fans after these 2 legs

No real point in appealing JT's red imo but if it's possible then might as well do it and hope that the people at UEFA have a brain fart of some sort and overturn it

Yes I agree but at the same time the players should have kept some composure knowing that the ref has gone card happy. The yellow card was probably justified (since there don't seem to be any replays we don't know how animated they were) but it's unfair that they have to miss the final.
