Potter thinking he can use Gallagher to run all over the pitch and break up their play. Double edged sword this. I just hope he doesn't end up giving away possession
-
..Callagher.. Don't need his shenanigans with his poor on the ball technique now. Hope he brings energy and nothing worse.
-
Convinced more than ever that we shouldn't pay over the odds for Felix. Mostly looks good only because everyone else has been subpar.
-
Now. Keep a clean sheet.
-
Finally.
-
Go on Havertz. Eat it. It won't bite.
-
Havertz or someone else to take it?
-
Lol. Take 2
-
Nope.
-
Havertz from the penalty spot? Oh my. Hope he breaks his jinx

If we do end up changing the manager later in the season, better to still be in a cup competition than not.
-
This isn't about Potter or the team anymore. It's Chelsea and the CL. Let's stay in it as long as we can.
-
Fucking hell...Chelsea should have been out of sight in this game.
-
Well deserved.

Finally!!

I swear, if we let Dortmund fluke another result and let the press wank themselves over a Bellingham one man performance,.....
-
Hmm, you're probably right and there's maybe more to his ceiling - but imo, he comes across as a system player. I.e. not someone like Hazard who can thrive in any kind of setup, but rather someone that needs to be utilized in the right way, with appropriate players combining with him. But let's see if he can come back with more training minutes under his belt.
-
I'll have to give credit to Potter for at least sticking to his guns here. He has been adamant about having a false 9 for a while now, as opposed to having a traditional CF. Even if Havertz isn't the solution, it's at least consistent with his plan. Which says a lot, because he keeps chopping and changing everything else.

Yes, he needs to be more clinical. I'd easily pick Felix over Mount today - but I don't think we should bend over backwards to get him, unless he actually delivers this season. And I mean, not just by looking easy on the eye. He's looked great during games and unlucky not to score in the past few., but I wouldn't call those consistent 8/10 performances. He has been absent in stages. Then there are the tangible numbers. Comparing last seasons stats in all comp; MM: 13 goals 16 assists JF: 10 goals 6 assists Anyway, seeing how rubbish Mount is playing atm, it's probably a no brainer. I just hope we don't see Felix as the ultimate solution., and pay silly money to get him.

I'd prefer it if the manager knew what he was doing, rather than react to what the press thinks. If the reason he's now not playing is because Potter made him look like shit, then that's a bad precedent. Is he going to shoehorn other players into his system and destroy their confidence and form, only to shrug afterwards and say, 'hey, I tried!' ? It suppose it's justified if all other aspects of his system were working fine, but his team is a mess at the moment., and can't do much right.

Yep, big inquest for United after they shipped those 6 goals. Their players seemed to give up after going 2 down. Lack of tracking back, nothing. Will be interesting to see how they respond in their next match. A one off defeat can happen anytime. Even we had an embarrassing one against West Brom, under Tuchel. And that was at home.
-
Not absolving him of any blame., - I'm just saying that he's also let down by Potters system. Also, it's a bit weird. After the good cameo against Liverpool, Potter made him start several matches back to back, despite saying he needs to brought up to speed gradually, because he hasn't played in a while. Now that he's flopped, Potter has relegated him to the bench. Just like he did with Fofana. It brings me back to a comment I made earlier. Potter just throws shit at the wall to see what sticks.
-
Against Liverpool, we played a team that offered a lot of space behind their back line. We could easily play passes for Mudryk to exploit during that game. Against most PL teams, we lack the quick thinking player that has vision and can execute a pass. That coupled with whatever style Potter is trying to implement, has crippled the player.

Honestly, despite the win, I think the follow up matches are when Potter is going to be under real scrutiny from management. By the law of averages, a win was always coming (whether it was through a formation change, or awful opposition, or both as in today's match). The question is now whether he and the team can use this win as a springboard and kick on. Or whether they will revert to type., and start a new new winless streak.

By that token, even their rigged FA Cup final win against us was also well deserved. I'm sure all the 'neutrals' were cheering for Arsenal when Arteta won his first trophy
