  1. Madrid gets what madrid wants unfortunately. Even though they don't actually need him since they have Marcelo and Coentrao, a pattern is starting to emerge. . . . .Isco,Illarramendi, Carvajal, jesse. they are trying to build a spanish core for the future,so this deal makes sense in that regard.
  2. Absolutely agree. hence why teams like Dortmund,Barca, Arsenal (during their glory days), Ajax in the 90s,Brazil (before 2006) et al had plenty of fans and admirers. if you do things the right way i,e sound football philosophy, youth policy, stability, sensible and sustainable spending, the world is bound to love you. we brought it on our selves. also Jose and some of our players are seen as cunt so that does add some fuel to the hatred.
  3. Does anyone still think he's better than Coutinho?
  4. He deserves it for being an idiot. it's not the first time he's being involved in stupid violent conduct either.
  5. His sarcastic post match comments about the ref and Mike riley. I'm guessing.
  6. Based of what I have seen of him at Chelsea he's been more than good enough for me. we don't need a Roberto carlos or Nilton santos at left back. There's no justification to spend that amount on a full back period. especially if it's a potential buy rather than the finished article. The only left backs that one might consider paying such ridiculous amount for are Alaba and lahm.
  7. You should speak for yourself. he's good enough to me and many others who judge players on merit and don't fall for the hype machine and popularity contest.
  8. No thank you. I will stick with that bloke called dave at left back. I heard he's not a bad fullback
  9. We would lose by 20 goal margin and the sky will fall if we do that
  10. In England I will say it's Liverpool despite the media wankfest Most neutral fans hate Liverpool more than us but we definitely hold that crown in Europe
  11. He was motm for sure alongside Cole whose selected I initially doubted. credit where its due.
  12. He did well last night by his own standard and considering the way the team was set out to play and the poor services he had to work with all night. solid 7.5/10 performance.
  13. I agree with some of this but what annoys me is the how the likes of Jose, emenalo and Gourlay tries to insult people's intelligence by promoting the idea that we are looking to take on a new identity in regards to playing style and that we are totally committed to youth development and integration. As far as the strategy taking a while to implement goes, I have to disagree given the relatively short and almost instant impact managers like Rodgers,Martinez and Pochettino have had on their respective teams philosophy and style of play. it doesn't always take as long as it's usually made out as long as the manager is fully committed.
  14. Robbie never played good football, he tried to but it was never properly implemented. It was the media that brainwashed people into thinking we/he did which gave birth to the extremely cringe worthy "3 amigos". We were overly reliant on mata for creativity and most of our build up play was dire with the lampard-ramires midfield combo. My idea of good football was how we played under carlo's 1st season and gullit-vialli
  15. That's what constitute a good performance nowadays. standard has slipped big time. We have gone from Makelele,Ballack,Essien and lampard to this.
  16. All I know is whatever we do. we MUST get it right this time. we cannot afford another flop signing. we are still feeling the effect of Torres disastrous transfer.
  17. We have played like crap all season. The reaction isn't borne out of last nights performance alone and let's not pretend Jose is some manager that plays and place value in attractive style of football.
  18. I actually agree with this to an extent as most of our technically gifted players are either our on loan or in the academy and reserves. However I do believe that the club did genuinely try to move away from our physical and counter attacking identity over the years without much success. We have brought in some managers like Scolari, AVB and Ancelotti and players like mata,Hazard,Luiz,Salah and host of attacking minded players either out on loan or in the first team. The underlying problem however is that Roman is conflicted and doesn't really know what he wants. he's torn between attacking football and success. managers who have tried to change our style haven't been given the opportunity to do so because they were unable to match performance with result. Our commitment to shifting to a more dynamic style can also be seen by the reform of the academy where a certain style and philosophy is being implemented and passed down right from the U21's to the U9s. At the end of the day, Roman desires attractive football but he also realises that it's difficult to strike that balance between expansive football and success and success is the driving force of revenue. if given a choice between a manager that can achieve said balance and a jose, I truly believe he will go for the former. just my opinion.
  19. And is that a good justification to appoint a wrong fit manager for what you are supposedly trying to achieve? If winning was the only objective then fine, Roman made the right decision but the way the club has been banging on about shifting to a more attractive and expansive style, it's counter productive . . . . . .
  20. And the point still stands. You choose the right horses for the right courses.
  21. This is a controversial opinion what i'm about to express but it's the truth nonetheless. It's Romans fault. I mean why recruit a well renowned defensive and conservative manager if your aim and objective is to move away from such style of football. This is a'kin to recruiting Guardiola for a team that wants to play catenaccio or counter attacking style of football. Wrong horses for courses and total clash of philosophy. What did Roman expect, that Jose was the right fit and would suddenly break away from his own philosophy and turn us into a team that plays attacking football.
  22. Luiz is an awful free kick taker and an unintelligent one at that. that's the point. If you do not have the ability of Juninho or Roberto Carlos, you don't deserve the monopoly to constantly take direct free kicks from long range when an indirect free kick would have been better given our set piece ability with players like JT and Cahill in the box., In tight games, you need to capitalise on set piece as that may be the only way to score and the best way of capitalising is making smart choices and decisions.
  23. Someone needs to get it through luiz skull that he's no Juninho. he's doing my head in.
