  1. He's right up there with palmeri tancredi as the worst journalist in Europe. Sometimes I think he's just flat out trolling .
  2. No he wasn't. Azpi and Cahill were more consistent. our best player based on talent: yes, best performer (nevermind the ridiculous by far adjective) absolutely not
  3. I know it was made in jest but I could actually see it happening. he's that bad
  4. You mean Oscar aka our savior, the second coming of zico and according to some, a £40m plus playmaker isn't capable of that. that can't be right. people told me he's the best playmaker of his generation and has the potential to surpass Zidane himself.
  5. Im still waiting for the "oscar is a key player/unsellable/special talent(insert other useless adjective here and "he has huge potential" to explain why and justify their case. I have never in my life seen such an average player who's remarkably inconsistdnt get so much undeserved accolade and huge rating. It's baffling sometimes. This is so similar to how some utd fans try to convince people that welbeck is a great player.
  6. "Oscar is unsellable", "he's key to our chances of winning the league" jesus christ. Now when i say he's one of the most overrated players in europe, people will say im being harsh. The sooner we get rid of him for a competent playmaker, the better.
  7. If we get any decent offer for him from psg (£20m plus) I had drive him down to paris myself
  8. Don't forget Hulk who we have signed atleast 6x in the past 3 seasons
  9. You need excellent technical ability(close control, passing range) and vision to excel in that role, qualities oscar lacks. I find the comparison insulting to those players actuallyThere's no similarity whatsoever between oscar and those amazing footballers and there's a reason top class DLP are in short supply and very rare. Oscar is more similar to thomas muller, albeit a less efficient and inconsistent version,if anything. And you are absolutely right, he's missing the technical ability and vision those players posess.
  10. Luis is currently valued at 16m,costa's release clause 32m and koke reportrdly has a release clause in the region of 60m, given his age and importance to the team, i would be surprised if he doesn't go for more than 30m
  11. Along with the koke+costa+luis comment, i havent laughed this hard in a while. The sheer absurdity of the post deserves wtf moment of 2014 for sure. I hope for the sake of sanity, you were just trolling because that was batshit insane.
  12. In the current market modric is worth more than 50m as he's arguably the best midfielder in the world. He took over the mantle left by the ageing xavi imo
  13. Exactly hence "thorough risk assessment". some people want us to buy him NOW.
  14. By far the most depressing one is Roma signing Benatia for €13.5m but in the end we got £50m for him so can't really complain.
  15. Even if they are different it's still wise to conduct thorough risk assessment before committing to £32m investment.with our recent history with strikers, you can never be too cautious. Crucially we have to get this signing absolutely spot on. The risk factor and impact of another flop striker signing will be devastating qns will set us back another few years like the torres one.
  16. When some of us voiced similar concerns prior to the torres signing, they told us "class is permanent"
  17. And what if he pulls a torres and doesnt return after the world cup physically and perhaps even mentally as the same player then we have and are potentially stuck with yet another flop striker signing. No one can recover from 3 big money flops in a row. Sheva, torres. . . . .Some people are that desperate for a striker that they are willing to risk another potential calamitious signing thay could have easily been avoided like the torres one with cautious and thorough risk assessment. Hope the club has learned its lesson.
  18. I don't want another kaka/Torres situation. It's not sensible to buy an injured player ever. we should do the sensible thing and wait to assess his condition after recovery to know if he's still at 100% and if we will be getting full value for the money.
  19. most of the time, the only thing passion (without talent/competency) gets you is bookings, injuries and awful and costly decision making brought about by overwhelming emotion in the absence of intelligence and common sense. They are clearly not good enough and it will require luck of epic proportions for them to win it, home advantage or not. I can't remember a team that looks this average "on paper" winning the world cup. The previous winners have always had atleast 3 or more genuinely world class players in their team. Brazil has only Silva.
  20. That's what McClaren gets for ostracizing a player that has been very productive for him in front of goal. He has all the time to enjoy the performances of strikers "that don't drift in and out of games" in the championship next season
  21. Please be true. Psg can have him for 35m plus
  22. Still cant believe it. If this deal does indeed go through for the 50m quoted we should be investigated for highway robbery
  23. I totally agree. There's actually a pattern to the development route of the majority of youngsters that managed to break through at top to midtable teams across europe in the sense that their loan spell was kept at a 2 years maximum at which point they are brought back into the team and given proper opportunities. At the end of the day, these players are human being with emotions and are prone to lose motivation and desire if not handled correctly and that's the point people who always pin the blame for failed youngsters on the players themselves as simply "not good enough" "cream always rises to the top", If they were good enough they would have made it" fail to understand. they are not robotic machines without feelings. Crucially while it may be true in some cases that some players are not cut out to make it at the top level, it could also be argued that we do not give these youngsters the best possible chance of making the transition into the first team. sometimes there's a thin line between a "success" and a "failed youngster" and I fear we are not doing enough to bridge the gap.
  24. We are doing our best demonstration of insanity according to Einstein "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"
