Absolutely hit the nail on the head. this is the crux of the issue.
-
That's strange. I have never heard of a player representing himself at this level. At worst they will use their father or a family member as a rep.
-
You are right apart from the fact that 300k would put him alongside Rooney as the joint 4th highest paid player in European top flight league, It does set a bad precedent.
-
Anyway. Regarding the contract situation. If he's still with the same agent then I'm not surprised it's taking this long. Didn't he make us pay him £6m (an absolutely ridiculous fee for an agent) and was the reason City and United backed off the deal. 300k is just insane especially in this ffp climate and only messi and ronaldo can justify earning that much per week.
-
All these vitriol and outpour of emotion just because of a difference of opinion. but then again, i'm not really surprised.

Baker, Ake and Christensen were also full time squad members in the summer, fast forward 8 months later, the former has been shipped out on loan after zero apps while the later two have barely played this season so you can see why some don't give a damn about this news. they have become desensitized to the bullshit/PR stunt.
-
You read that wrong. "I trust us TO fuck it up" meaning I have no faith or confidence i our ability to turn any of these youngsters into a proper first team player at Chelsea so We actually agree with each other.
-
I hate games like this due to the law of averages i.e They are bound to win a game soon. I Just hope it won't be against us
-
We are blessed with English talents from our own academy. Loftus Cheek, Baker, Palmer,Solanke and Jay da silva are top top prospects who, if handled correctly, can adequately replace the English nucleus of our team in the future. But I trust us to fuck it up and not produce any regular first team members out of this crop of talented youngsters.

Terry isn't getting any younger and it's actually starting to show in his game. Zouma is Cahill's replacement long term (hopefully) We still need a longterm JT replacement.
-
For me He's and has always been far more technical than Costa which reflects his all round game. Costa however is a better finisher obviously.

No it's not. Hazard lacks the natural instinct of an attacking midfielder (the good/great ones anyway and not the crappy ones) i.e the natural instinct to play the game exclusively with their head up, analysing and assessing situation around them very quickly, spotting the gaps and making the right decision from a creative standpoint most often than not. this is why quality AM's are able to spot the movements around and ahead of them before anyone else. Fabregas gave an interview during his Arsenal days regarding creativity, He said he's always analysing plays before he even gets the ball and that helps him make better decisions. This type of players are natural thinkers first and foremost and it's something that can't be taught. Hazard quite often miss these movements and makes the wrong decision at times as he has the tendency to slow the game down, hold on to the ball too long and in the process either end up drawing fouls or releasing the pass when it's too late. In situations where space in the box is at a premium and the opposition is defending very deep, timing, decision making and execution i,e a perfectly weighted accurate pass delivered just at the right time is very crucial. Aside from the issue of vision is also doubts over his passing ability. The ability to slot a perfectly weighted through ball consistently is limited to only a select few. That's why there are so many under hit and over hit passes in football. it's not easy. This isn't a criticism of hazard either as that's just not his game, only very few players can shine in that position and he's not one of them, the same can be said of other world class players such as Robben,Neymar, Ribery, Bale and so on. and why are we discussing this anyway as it's a case of if it's not broke, why fix it?
-
He doesn't have the speed of thought, vision and instinct to play in that position successfully. He's a runner like robben whose skillsets are better utilised on the wings and not a playmaker with natural playmaking instincts
-
Guarin is a very surprising one. Never looked at him as a dribbler nevermind a good one.
-
Doesn't look like it to me on evidence. Is this another myth and generalisation that young automatically equals tactically naive and inferior. Hasn't that myth been busted already. He has looked just tactically fine to me in the games he has played for us while on the flip side Cahill, a player that has been awful to average at best this season is being played completely out of position.

Speak for your self

Wouldn't it be so typical if villa picks this game to break their goal drought.

When has a player's unhappiness ever stopped a club from keeping the player if they really wanted to. Rooney, benteke, khedira, thibo(he wasn't exactly enthusiastic about the idea of coming back to chelsea to play 2nd fiddle to cech, was he) and many more have all showed their unhappiness at current situation in varying ways, some even handling in a transfer request. Yet their clubs were still determined to keep them and so they did. The bottomline is, if a club really wants to keep a player, they will and they usually do. The whole "bertrand wanted to leave" is absolute bollocks. I respect those who admit that jose and the club just simply saw him as surplus to requirement and that's the real reason he was sold more than those using the former as a genuine excuse.
-
We should have brought in back to fight it out with 29 yo Luis while Azpi returns to his natural position at right back which would have worked out better for us considering Ivanovic's form this season which is inconsistent and awful at times. He also had the added benefit of being homegrown, nevermind that he's actually a very good and reliable left back. Even the fee is relatively bad for a player of his quality and nationality. Is bertrand really £20m worse than Luke shaw? put all these factors into consideration and this transfer suddenly looks bad. But I guess some people can't see the big picture. I'm afraid we have done another sturridge here.
-
I'm not happy about this at all.
-
Which part is correct, That we signed him to stop liverpool from getting him? How so when we were left light in that position due to the departure of Mata and De Bryune. Is such a thing even possible. Who signs a player purely based on malicious and cynical intent especially in this FFP era.
-
Anyone watching skysportsnews. The bitterness from Thompson and Le tissier is unbearable saying things like we signed salah to stop liverpool from getting him and Cuadradro was a needless signing as he's just going to be another bench warmer like salah and for 26m is a waste of money.
-
Jake Cohen @JakeFCohen CFC didn't *need* to sell Schurrle to buy Cuadrado, but why leave £24m on bench when can cash in + put towards big summer purchase? (2/2) Confirms my suspicion all along. We didn't need to sell in order to buy contrary to the general assumption.
-
Let him and Moses replace salah. No need to splash the cash on another average winger.
-
Wrong, Matic, Cesc and Costa are more important. He's our best player though.
