  1. I lost all hope when Bruce buck asserted the club would never sell a 33 year old striker in decline under any circumstances because of sentimental reasons. The politics that exists within the club is glaringly obvious and overwhelming. People who have faith in youth revolution at Chelsea are clearly delusional. It certainly won't happen any time soon
  2. It's too early seems to be the justification for this same old shit. Maybe we shouldn't have fired Carlo since his line up would have been remarkably similar to AVB's.
  3. Also he's playing both Drogba and Torres upfront and arguably our best player against WBA, Anelka, has been dropped to the bench and Lampard "the untouchable" in the starting line up again. . . sigh
  4. Biggest joke of the summer. . .we wouldn't even pay above 30m for Modric who is a different class to the overrated Dutch.
  5. I don't care who starts. . .actually I do but just play some decent football will ya?. The fans deserve a change from the painfully awful and boring football we have endured for the past 8 months or so.
  6. I'm absolutely shocked the infamous "kalouda" partnership has not been mentioned
  7. That's another good shout. Cole and Yorke just had that special chemistry and understanding on the pitch that I have never seen in any other strike partnership.
  8. +1 I had be surprised if he was overlooked as JT's successor. . . .Mikel does deserve a shout too.
  9. He wants early closure to the transfer window yet left signings till last minute. Isn't that contradictory.
  10. I hope and pray the deal falls flat and remains unsuccessful till eternity. AVB should focus his attention on De Bruyne and Moutinho instead. We don't have a lot of time left.
  11. Chelsea- Hasselbank -Eidur Non Chelsea- Yorke -Cole
  12. Quality > experience/age. AVB said "to get experience, you must be given the access and opportunity" only time will tell if he's a man of his words afterall Porto took a massive gamble in appointing him as their manager. An appointment that brought him into limelight.
  13. @ OP great post Very simple explanation: Bayern have 100% confidence in their youth without any ounce of doubt or reservation.. . . Is Muller,Kroos et al good enough or ready for the big stage. regarding your quote " cuz he needs results" it reinforces our youth development problem as it suggests AVB, as with other previous newly appointed Chelsea managers, cannot trust any of the youth players to perform well and produce the results required to hit the ground running very early in his Chelsea career. The absence of that mentality is the sole reason why teams like Ajax, Man Utd and Bayern munich have been able to strike the balance between youth integration and success over the years. starting the season with exactly the same team selection as last season doesn't exactly send the right signal or statement of intent in terms of youth development imho.
  14. Now that's what you call classiness.
  15. I had take him over Perreira anyday
  16. Don't forget they also have Demba ba
  17. Never put anything past the scousers. it's an unwritten rule. The level of delusion on their forum alone, if converted to pressure, can sink a titanic ship
  18. Me too but unfortunately Kalou and Anelka are not in demand by any club. Offtopic: Has kalou ever been linked with another club since he joined us?
  19. Yes he has played in more advanced position for Uruguay but that doesn't necessarily make him a winger as he's predominately a LB and that's his best position. . . if Mata would be used in the hole then a natural and specialist winger is what we need and not him And as for the highlighted part of your post. . . facepalm emoticon is urgently needed
  20. I have seen him many times in action and while he's a hard working full back who loves to join the attack and has a eye for goal, he's certainly not what we need atm. All managers make bad decisions to varying degrees and regularity as they are only human as well. . . that makes the above argument redundant This deal doesn't make sense for 3 reasons regardless of what role AVB has in mind for him. 1. As a back up to Cole- £16m plus is too expensive for a mere back up especially when we already have two capable back up in Betrand and PVA who are raring to go and would relish the opportunity. 2. As a LWM/F- why convert a LB into a winger when there are plethora of natural wingers/LWF out there who are more suited to that role than perreira 3. Most would agree that a creative midfielder is our most pressing need atm rather than a LB. The only player we should be looking to buy from porto is Moutinho Whichever angle one chooses to view this issue, signing the Uruguayan seems very illogical
