  1. Yes he has played in more advanced position for Uruguay but that doesn't necessarily make him a winger as he's predominately a LB and that's his best position. . . if Mata would be used in the hole then a natural and specialist winger is what we need and not him And as for the highlighted part of your post. . . facepalm emoticon is urgently needed
  2. I have seen him many times in action and while he's a hard working full back who loves to join the attack and has a eye for goal, he's certainly not what we need atm. All managers make bad decisions to varying degrees and regularity as they are only human as well. . . that makes the above argument redundant This deal doesn't make sense for 3 reasons regardless of what role AVB has in mind for him. 1. As a back up to Cole- £16m plus is too expensive for a mere back up especially when we already have two capable back up in Betrand and PVA who are raring to go and would relish the opportunity. 2. As a LWM/F- why convert a LB into a winger when there are plethora of natural wingers/LWF out there who are more suited to that role than perreira 3. Most would agree that a creative midfielder is our most pressing need atm rather than a LB. The only player we should be looking to buy from porto is Moutinho Whichever angle one chooses to view this issue, signing the Uruguayan seems very illogical
  3. Only one shot on goal in the first half. Coming from a long range shot by a defender (Cole) doesn't exactly qualify as "fighting back" does it. Our first half performance that inspired the boooing was abysmally poor and painful to watch. The supporters definitely deserve better especially on the opening home game of the season.
  4. Hazard>Perreira.. . someone should fax this to AVB.
  5. If that's what he meant then my bad
  6. nadavTKL asserted we should bid £25m for him implying his value (ignoring the buyout clause for now) should be around that figure. which is totally an insult to Hulk when the likes of Pastore are going for £45m. Hulk is not worth the figure on his buy-out clause but at the same time, he's certainly worth more than £25m, that's my point.
  7. Hulk for £25m? People totally underate and underestimate Hulk. In Today's market, the Brazilian is easily worth £45m, he's that good
  8. "Lucas is a better all round footballer than Claude" scousers at it again.
  9. What's your obsession with Mata wearing No 10 lol
  10. Yes Let's nameandshame them as booing is a criminal offence punishable under the law. What a ridiculous idea.
  11. "ahead of the arrival of Porto right-back Alvaro Pereira" This is where I stopped reading
  12. Considering Shane Long achieved a similar feat last weekend , I wouldn't read too much into it
  13. ehmm Should our vision be to "coach young talent" or to develop and nurture young talents into the starting X1/ 1st team ala John Terry????.
  14. No forward and long-term thinking Chelsea fan would question AVB for showing 100% faith in the youth, We have all been crying out for better youth development and integration for the past 4 years or so.
  15. There's no such thing as dead cert in sport. We should win would be more appropriate .. just saying
  16. super-FRANK you are trying really hard to hide the bias, aren't you
  17. Regardless of our perceived superiority over Norwich. we still have to find a way to overcome their rigid and disciplined defence. They will most certainly set out to pack the bus and frustrate us. The question now is, do you trust our players to unlock the Norwich defence and create sufficient goal scoring chances that will hopefully be converted into goal(s)?.. . . . I couldn't trust lampard, kalou, Malouda et al's ability to break down my local sunday league team's defence atm, nervermind Norwich.
  18. Are we talking about the same Norwich side that were 50 sec away from defeating Stoke, the same team that held us to a draw? despite being reduced to 10 men. Considering our woeful performance so far and Norwich resilient and disciplined defence ,I wouldn't be so overconfident.
  19. Probably because Hernandez was a regular member of Mexico squad before his move to Utd. The dailymail article claims he will be loaned to Vittesse because he doesn't qualify for work permit. . .what makes us think he would not suffer the sdame fate as Rajko?. . .makes no sense to me.
  20. Absolutely agree especially with the highlighted part What baffles me is that most or some of our fans share the same mentality as our Board. It really pisses me off tbh.
  21. Spot on Cleverly would have been sold to HSV by now had he been a product of our academy.. . .Never mind been entrusted with the huge responsibility of succeeding Paul Scholes/Lampard
  22. What gives you the assurance that these crop wouldn't be dismantled and sold while Abramovich splashes £150m (consider inflation) on a single player before or after they reach maturity?????. The thing is, at Chelsea, we believe the grass is always greener on the other side. we show little faith in our youth product and would rather waste money on more finished articles.
  23. I hate to spoil the party but until I see more clear evidence of youth development and integration ala John terry, I wouldn't get my hopes high. We have invested heavily in our academy over the past 5 years and the productivity and end result so far has fallen short of expectation. It's not just about buying, there must be a genuine purpose and vision which we have lacked over the years.
