Yesterday morning we all thought he was 100% going and that his injury was fake and now we learn that it may indeed be genuine and that he trained with the first team again. We also see articles saying that all of his teammates have urged him to stay and that the owner will block any move. My confidence in this move has gone completely.

So we still have no injury update on Mata. Also haven't seen him very active on twitter recently. Could these Mata/Rooney rumors have some truth and he's being kept out and keeping quiet?

Would completely contradict our buying policy now. As I said on the last page, if we want a short term, highly experienced striker who won't be a long term investment we should really try to get Zlatan. I watched him yesterday in PSG's opener and he was still a class above everyone else on the pitch even at 32. Better than Cavani and better than any other mega rich player. You'd be stunned by what that lot think is a fair deal for Rooney. Even saw some idiot yesterday say that United should demand £30m AND Mata. "We won't weaken ourselves unless we weaken them in the process" is the general feeling there.
