So really nothing new. Just pretty much mirroring what others have said all week. I will say, if we get a positive result against City and then follow it up next week by brining in Felix and Osimhen, wow. Everyone will be buzzing around the club.
-
LMAO! I legit forgot about Kova! 🤦♂️
-
My mind is kind of blanking right now. If Rodri is out and Kalvin Phillips is now off to Ipswich, I can’t even remember who is in their CM. What’s his face they bought from Wolves and KdB gonna play in CM against us, then?
-
Ugo on loan to Southampton is a potentially great move for him. If they actually use him every match that could be massive for any future he has back here. If he does well but we don’t end up needing him we can probably get the Saints to buy him for £40m or something.
-
I’m guessing it’s the latter which is why this shit is taking forever as we try to get him to accept an incentive based salary. Really weird how these Italian clubs (even the biggest ones) are all broke as a joke yet have these star players on mega wages. Like when Juve were paying CR7.
-
In his mind (and most peoples minds before this past season where he dropped a level) he’s a superstar who deserves superstar wages. And tbf, “elite” goal scorers are rare and command huge wages. So I don’t really blame him for refusing to drop his salary.

Jesus. How can it take a fucking week to agree on a player we obviously want to sell badly and a player they want rid of badly? It’s just like Lukaku/Osimhen/Napoli. We know Lukaku badly wants Napoli, Napoli badly wants Lukaku, and Napoli have already said multiple times that they’ve agreed Osimhen can go. So wtf is going on? Are we making insulting offers that will never be accepted or are the other clubs making insulting demands? Whatever it is, it’s fucking annoying.
-
wtf does one have to do with the other? Neres and Lukaku don’t play the same position and aren’t similar even a little bit.
-
Worth a shot if they’re willing to accept a reasonable Lukaku + cash offer. As long as we aren’t paying anywhere close to the £100m they were asking for earlier then it’s probably a gamble worth taking.
-
As an Osimhen skeptic I’m kind of coming around on him for one simple reason: I think he’d be a big help in those countless matches we’ve been in in recent seasons where we completely dominate lesser opponents but because they’re sitting deep and parking the bus we couldn’t break through. Those very kinds of matches cost us top 4 last season in hindsight. With Osimhen being a beast in the air and a top penalty area finisher he could 100% help in those sorts of matches. I think he could feast against weaker opponents. Whether he performs against the top half teams and other Big 6 teams is what I’m skeptical about.
-
Don’t believe anything you see if it ain’t Ornstein at this point. Even Fabrizio has been super spotty this summer. Especially for a deal/player as big as Osimhen. Doubt anything significant has changed.
-
It’s fucking nuts that we are still totally in the dark about what’s happening with Gallagher.
-
He has never and probably never will become the “carry a whole team on his back” sort of megastar that he was hyped up to be when Atleti bought him, that’s true. But for me he’s still a delightful player to watch and a supreme talent. I personally just look at him as a really, really good player who when surrounded by other really, really good players will shine. I don’t expect him to be that superstar anymore.
-
As @YorkshireBluesays, Sterling infuriates me because of his signature “get the ball and run fail to beat his man” move. Raheem in top form is still a very dangerous player but most of the time he looks like he can’t be bothered. Even if he’s not scoring I’d rather have Felix out there than Sterling.
-
This is what it comes down to for me. Would I rather see Sterling/Mudryk as options or João Felix? Felix BY FAR. But at least one of those has to be sold because we really don’t have room for Felix as it stands.
-
Nah, in baseball the common thing is to trade a big haul of young prospects for a single superstar. I’m actually surprised we haven’t tried that yet! 🤣

I do find it pretty amusing seeing all these outlets/pundits/journalists releasing their PL predictions and picking us to finish significantly lower than we did last season. It’s pretty clear that most of them didn’t pay attention to what happened last season or what we’ll have this season that we didn’t last. We had a shambles of a season last time with a ridiculous injury catastrophe and literally the youngest squad by average age in the league. We had a bunch of brand new players that clearly took a long time to settle. Some massive players that were meant to be key performers missed basically the entire season. And yet despite all of this we still finished within a few points of 4th. Had we now drawn to a couple of teams we would ordinarily batter we’d be in the UCL places now. Yet you see some of these guys predicting us to finish between 7th-10th. We’ve got Nkunku, Lavia, and soon (hopefully) Reece back, we’ve now got players in that I genuinely think will be really good, and we’ve got players who should be fully settled in by now like Enzo/Caicedo/Nico Jackson etc. PLUS whoever else we sign from here. There is nobody who can convince me sitting here right now that Villa, Newcastle, and Spuds should finish above us. Hell, even Man United whose business I’m not impressed at all about in the attacking areas.
-
I really don’t get why Atleti are apparently digging their heels in so hard on Felix. They very clearly have no desire to use him and have been perfectly okay loaning his ass out multiple times, including to a direct La Liga rival! Plus, we’ve already given them over £10m from when he was here last time. Feels like they’re refusing to be flexible/reasonable at all. Meanwhile, we’ve agreed to give them a fantastic bargain price for Gallagher who, if he were being sold to a PL club, would be going for £45-50m. Yet for them we lowered the price all the way down to what should be a super affordable price.
-
If we end up still signing Omorodion after all this I’m going to be devastated, ngl. Just saw someone on my Twitter timeline saying it’s still possible.
-
He may end up being correct in the end but I 100% guarantee that this guy has never seen Jorgensen play before just like most of us. So to say something like this before the season even starts is just hating on Chelsea as usual.
-
It’s just the same exact rehashed stories every day now. “Gallagher move has stalled as Chelsea and Atleti try to find a solution.” ”Chelsea want Osimhen but the terms need to change.” ”NapOli are ready to finally push forward with Lukaku.” But then nothing fucking happens. These moves have been in the works for weeks now with no real movement seemingly.
-
Would indeed be a good signing but we surely need to ship 1 of Badiashile or Disasi to make room first.
-
At this point I think the biggest PL clubs like ourselves and City are so powerful that I’m not even convinced any sort of catastrophic punishment will stick. The armies of lawyers and years long legal battles/appeals would make actual punishment take ages.
-
Ehh, idk. In an age when random, mediocre English players go for insane fees I don’t think £42m is at all unreasonable for Felix. He’s still an unbelievably talented player who I think would look far better now than he did in his loan stint. I wouldn’t be upset at all if we paid that.
-
With all the drama elsewhere about players outgoing there’s one on our books that most of us (myself included) have kinda forgotten about and that’s Kepa. I haven’t seen a single rumor about anyone being interested in him since that proposed Saudi move fell apart months ago. Wtf are we gonna do there, I wonder? Terminate his contract? Or is that too harmful in terms of FFP?
