Yeah, all of this gives me hope.I would be absolutely shocked, though, if their only signings are Herrera and Shaw. Their fans would be very upset if that were the case. The way Moyes talked about the players they were going to bring in before he left and the way their board and players talk it sounds like they were bringing in some serious names. I think they will certainly bring in at least one world class player. If they make no more signings I think they'd do extremely well just to scrape 4th.
-
That is very, very strange. What makes no sense to me is that if he can be had for such a low fee for someone of his class, why the hell isn't EVERY big club after him? Why aren't PSG, Barca, Madrid, Bayern, City, and ourselves after him? Why aren't we offering them £25m and Ramires or just a boat load of cash for him? Like I've said time and time again, if José could design the perfect midfielder on a computer Vidal would be it. He's an absolute bulldog that contributes in all phases of the game. Yet seemingly the only club being linked to him is United. Mind boggling.
-
He's now directly named United. "I'm already at a great team, Juventus, so I will be just as calm if the Manchester United option falls through." I have a feeling it's already as good as done.
-
Didn't the Spuds arrange a friendly with Real Madrid as part of the Bale deal? It's not unheard of. Don't think there's anything in this. Has now been proven that this rumor originated to some bogus fan account.
-
Cesc is better in the air than Lukaku. Embarrassing.
-
Liverpool fans acting like they've just signed a world class player. I think he'll have a decent season there but that's about it. He may have a game here and there where he looks awesome but their fans seem to think he's going to be on Hazard's level or something.
-
Yep. Total bullshit.
-
I agree. Think he'll be a beast in this league.
-
You managed to spell all of their names wrong in a single post.
-
I wouldn't discount Arse so quickly. Imagine how much it would galvanize and excite their fan base if they finally bought the striker they've needed for so song. It would send out a huge message to the football world that Arsenal can compete with the big boys again and can attract superstars. Wenger would look like a fucking god to Arse fans and they'd be the media darling. "They did it the RIGHT way. Payed off a new stadium and blah, blah, blah." £42m on Özil £30m+ on Sanchez Wouldn't shock me if they paid £45-50m for Cavani now that they've just signed that new Puma deal and are done paying for the stadium.
-
Hopeful opposition fans on twitter thinking signing Griezmann means Hazard is definitely gone.
-
Only reason I even slightly take this rumor seriously is because of that friendly that we added so suddenly. That does seem fishy. Not quite sure where he slots in, though. Can't really imagine us paying £25m on yet another AM if he's going to just be a squad player.
-
Young, versatile, bags of potential. Wouldn't say no.
-
Yep.You can see they've found their new love interest for the upcoming season. Last season they were all swooning over José, but now it's Van Gaal and United again. It's almost definitely going to be insufferable. Twitter will be avoided for a while if/when they sign Vidal or any other world class players because the "United have to be favorites" shit will be banded around. Since they have such easy opening fixtures it's almost a sure thing that they'll shoot out of the gates and probably win 5-6 in a row and they'll be "back and better than ever." Van Gaal will be "the best manager in the world," and they'll be installed as favorites for the title.
-
I wonder what all of the journalists who follow him and know him in real life think about him. They probably all make fun of him and think he's a total cunt.
-
Our buddy Tancredi and some guy from Manchester Evening News say that Vidal to United is all but done and imminent. *sigh* Normally I'd laugh off this kind of thing but it seems there really is something in it. United really are about to sign the best CM in the world seemingly unopposed and for a very reasonable fee if these rumors are to be believed. And he likely isn't the last world class player they'll be signing.
-
I know United are a bigger global brand than us or any club in the world for that matter, but they sign a deal worth more than DOUBLE ours? We should terminate the contract with Adidas and go to Nike.
-
They probably saw themselves being linked with Marin and said "we gotta get out ahead of this and deny it."
-
Just pray everyday that he doesn't get injured since it appears that both Torres and Ba will be returning with Lukaku being sold.
-
Why do I get a baaaaad feeling he'll end up at Arsenal? He's the marquee, big name striker they've been desperately crying out for. He would make them one hell of a scary side. Not sure Liverpool, despite their enormous budget with the Suarez sale, can attract a player of his calibre. Those are the only two big clubs that make any sense at all in the PL.
-
Kind of funny that he's getting all the glory when Schürrle did 90% of the work on the goal.
-
If EVER there were a time to hijack a move this would be it. Can't let him go there, FFS.
-
Was definitely his least effective match of the tournament.
-
The team we're gonna have next season. Man...
-
Maybe there really is something to the rumors over the past few months about Cavani being sold. Surely UEFA are going to have to do something if they really do buy Di Maria for ~ £50m. That'll be £100m spent on two players which is double the spending limit they were issued.
