We sure have been linked with a bunch of players I've never heard of this window. Baba, Aranguiz, now this dude.
-
He's definitely a player who needs to be starting every single game to reach his best level. Clearly he won't get that here and as a consequence he'll continue to struggle like he has. It would be best for all parties if he's sold. I'd love to see him at his best for us but I can't see any way he dislodges Willian from that spot. It'll be a Filipe Luis situation for him where he makes sub appearances and starts the odd, less important game.
-
Thought I remember hearing that he regressed significantly last season?
-
Still haven't signed him yet... This is like the exact opposite of last summer. The club seem to be moving in slow motion. FFS, we still haven't even announced Luis is off yet and it's been known for ages. If he's thought of as a JT replacement and will be a top player for a decade or more then why are we twiddling our thumbs and waiting so long? Just drop a bag of cash on Everton's doorstep and get our man. Let him get a few preseason matches with the team under his belt so he's not thrown into matches that matter having not prepared as well as he could. Waiting until deadline day and hoping a deal can be struck would be so stupid. It would leave Everton without enough time to find a replacement, which would in turn make the money useless to them.
-
Still after a "superstar" signing apparently.Think he himself ruled out Ronaldo so I wonder who they'll be after. No chance Bayern would sell Müller or their fans would go ballistic and riot. Benitez wants Bale as his key player so I think he can be ruled out for this year at least. There aren't really that many out there. Reus, maybe? Whoever they get it'll be possibly the biggest failure and embarrassment ever if they aren't a legitimate title contender. If they don't get within a few points of the winner or don't win it themselves then LvG should resign. If José were given the same funds that they've spent since Sir Alex retired he'd have a squad that would win the PL by 15 points with ease and won the CL again by now.
-
So who gets more minutes once the PL starts, Moses or Cuadrado? One player who everyone had pretty much forgotten about vs the player who we just spunked nearly 30m on. My money is on Moses which is both funny and sad at the same time.
-
Start Zouma the giant and lob crosses into him over and over against these dwarves.
-
Really hoping this is the week we get serious. Before someone else gets involved. At least make another bid that's serious this time and turn Stones' head if it hadn't already been. Maybe if he sees how determined we are to sign him he'll throw in a transfer request.
-
Wish we would stop with the low ball offers. If it's 26m you know it'll be swiftly rejected and only serve to piss Everton off even more. If they're then resigned to losing him they'll go to United and City and offer him there just to get back at us.
-
If ever there was an example of preseason being meaningless it was yesterday when United beat Barca.
-
Why would Chelsea fans be watching an Arsenal preseason friendly?
-
It's scary how similarly you and I think. It's like we share a brain!I'll give Moses credit for these two preseason games. He's looked decent. But he's the exact type of footballer I normally hate. The type that have no real football intelligence and are essentially headless chickens. He'll do a few fancy tricks or sprint past a player and get into a great position but will then make nothing of it. He's woefully inconsistent in the final third where it matters (which you can say about most of our attacking players, really).
-
I would be seriously fucking pissed if United swoop in and get him. And it doesn't sound so farfetched either. United sneak in discretely as the article says and offer Evans as part exchange. Everton would rather sell to them after we pissed them off so much. If United showed serious interest you know they'll offer insane wages that we won't go near and he'll have the draw of playing beside the the other young English defenders they have. If we want him just pay the fucking money and secure him!
-
Willian, Falcao, and Remy all looked good in their time. Willian especially. Vital starter for us and one of the first names on the team sheet. Just buy Stones ASAP and he'll quickly take Cahill's place and buy a CM like Witsel and we'd be set. Oh, and Courtois' pen!!! Best of the lot!
-
Same ultra frustrating problems as the second half of last season and they very well may cost us a shot at repeating. The midfield and defense get RAPED by pace and on counters. Our defenders just back off from anyone running at them and let players run free at our goal. The link between our midfield and our attacking players is also nearly nonexistent. We can't get Diego involved at all. We NEED another midfielder who's great in possession and is powerful and mobile. We're going to continue to get dominated by every single top team with a good midfield with our current team.
-
Think we're in for another subpar performance to be honest. Don't think our players can really motivate themselves in these meaningless matches.
-
Put those pics in the wank bank for later, huh Barb?
-
You've seen Falcao's dick?
-
Why would him getting benched be a blessing then?
-
Agreed. Costa fits us like a glove and seems to be underrated by most opposition fans.If he betters his goal return from last season that should change.
-
Well I don't know about that! Falcao at his best was easily better than Costa. We all know he'll never reach that level again. I think Costa would have to go without scoring for a long, long stretch to be benched.
-
No chance he displaces Costa.
-
If they gave out trophies for songs and online Twitter polls the Gooners may top that league. A league in which they actually play football they won't.
