  1. Sterling and Stones' valuations are ridiculous because they've proven and accomplished fuck all. They cost £50m only because they're English. Morata's valuation is crazy too but he's played for two of the biggest clubs in the world and scored goals in huge matches. He's also the starting #9 for Spain and proved that he can cut it at international level unlike Sterling and Stones. We have to start looking past high fees now. The game has changed with the TV deal. Sadio Mane just went for nearly £40m, ffs.
  2. Oh man, that would be amazing/hilarious. We sign a super talented striker and stop United getting Pogba at the same time.
  3. If Costa goes I don't like this at all. Diegomparied with either Bats or Morata is world class. Bats paired with Morata (two young players in a new league/country) is super risky.
  4. I had forgotten that Madrid have a transfer ban looming, don't they? Seems strange they'd sell one of the only strikers they have just before that.
  5. Fuck it. Don't care about prices anymore. Just buy him!
  6. Yeah, well imagine how hard it would be without CL football for 2 or more years in a row and worrying about funding a new stadium. That's what we're looking at if we don't kick into gear soon and start signing top players. Arsenal had CL football every season and struggled in the market.
  7. Imagine, our rivals signing top class players and we sign...a Sunderland reject. Luckily, there's no way we'd do this. I think Djilodildo, Falcao, and Pato are the worst we'll be seeing.
  8. What you say about the money is 100% true, which is why it's even more frustrating that we're reportedly stalling with every target we're after. I'm sure most of it is made up bullshit from journo's, but to see repeated bids for Nainggolan rejected is annoying when we know we have the money to pay up. Why isn't Koulibaly already a Chelsea player? He's not on international duty and plays for a club much smaller than Chelsea. A big bag of cash should have been on Napoli's front lawn weeks ago and Koulibaly should be in Chelsea blue. Wish we'd just pay up and be done with things like we did a couple of summers ago.
  9. Yep. City broke the fucking rules, for fucks sake, and they still spend like mad!
  10. Can't help but think it's FFP that'll stop us from going for him. Chelsea is the only massive club who cares about it so much and it's maddening. United, City, Real Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern etc all willingly throw massive amounts of money around but Chelsea are scared to so far. Maybe it'll change this summer and we'll show some ambition but there's no evidence at all of that yet. We couldn't even secure Conte's supposed top target in Nainggolan! United is willing to break the world transfer record for Pogba. City want both Stones and Bonucci for £50m each. That would be 4 (FOUR!!!!) £50m players within a year. In addition to the huge costs of Mangala & Otamendi. That is ambition. Let's see if we show some.
  11. If we have the manager he's worked with for both club and country and who knows him inside and out and we don't even attempt to convince him to come here our board are negligent. He should be priority #1.
  12. Absolutely ridiculous. And this is in addition to the £80m worth of CB's they've already got.
  13. Would be extremely annoying if City end up getting him instead of us. Especially if we don't even try.
  14. Or knowing our luck, we'll sell them Oscar or Matic on the cheap, they'll turn into world beaters, and move to one of our rivals the next year for £60m like De Bruyne. All kidding aside, if they refuse to sell us Bonucci we should refuse to do any business with them too. Tell them no with Matic and Oscar and sell Cuadrado to the highest bidder.
  15. They want to keep Cuadrado and are reportedly very interested in Matic. Surely we can negotiate something for Bonucci?
  16. If he's a compliment to Kante I'd be fine with it. If it's instead of Kante not so much. I like him as a player but if he's our only midfield signing...yikes.
  17. Did he directly mention us at all today? Hard to imagine he wasn't specifically asked "what went wrong at Chelsea."
  18. Leicester is a once in a lifetime situation. They (nor any other tiny club) will ever do that again in my opinion. With the insane money in the league and the amounts the big clubs are able to spend will ensure that it won't. I don't think its pessimistic to predict that United will be very strong and that Mou will succeed. Not saying we or anyone else don't stand a chance or anything.
  19. Going to call bullshit again on this one.
  20. That may be so, but unlike United I doubt we'll pay him £300k a week and certainly not a transfer fee of £100m or whatever it'll be.
  21. Probably going to be the highest earning player in the league, yeah. As with so many great players in the past, when you receive a personal call from Mourinho telling you how special your are and how important he's going to make you, and how he will build his team around you it's hard to turn down. I would bet that call has already happened.
  22. They'll just sign an official grass cutting sponsor and an official brick cleaning partner that cleans the outside of Old Trafford that each pay them £50m per year and they'll be fine.
  23. Every single reputable source is saying Mourinho and United are after him and in discussions with him/his agent. That they're willing to pay a world record fee for him. Just this morning Mourinho himself said he identified 4 key areas that he wanted to bring in players to fill and that 2 were done (Zlatan, Bailey) the third will be done soon (Mkhitaryan) and they're trying hard for the fourth who everyone knows is Pogba. Its gonna happen.
