  1. Feels like all rumors and links just died stone cold the second the June 10 deadline lapsed. Haven’t seen any transfer talk since even though the window back open, right?
  2. Nobody worth a damn is reporting anything so it doesn’t really matter. That cfbayern guy doesn’t know shit.
  3. Ekitike looks like he has the higher ceiling for sure from a raw, natural talent POV. But I just wonder how he’d hold up to the rigors of the PL. A lot of the negatives I’ve read about Ekitike when this monster price is being discussed is that he is physically weak and gets bullied in Germany. If that’s the case, how’s he going to hold up against teams who love to get physical and thuggish like Burnley or Everton? Whereas Woltemade looks technically good for a huge guy whilst also having the strength and muscle to bully people himself. He looks less risky than Ekitike to my eye because he’d cost a fraction. When you’re spending €100m on a player you need a virtual guarantee that he’s a superstar. I don’t personally see that with Ekitike.
  4. Just watched a YouTube comp of Woltemade. I actually came away more impressed with his game than Ekitike. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ They’re both tall and lanky as hell but Woltemade looks much more robust and can hold up the ball excellently. Thing is, from his POV it doesn’t seem very wise to agree to come here when we have Jackson & Delap. At his age it would be a huge risk to go from playing every week to getting the odd chance in the League Cup or as a sub here. I’d take him, though, since it’s clear we aren’t going for a Gyokeres or Osimhen.
  5. At this point I’d take just 1 game changing, level raising signing. Don’t even care which position. We entered this summer following UCL qualification with me hopeful that we’d sign 3-4 to take us to the next level. Instead, our targets look like a list West Ham or Everton would draw up. 🤦‍♂️
  6. So following Wirtz, Man United will be the last of the big PL clubs that hasn’t crossed the £100m barrier on a player.
  7. Whatever happened to Kudus thing? We got linked and then the story just diced after like a day. Not that he’s what we need, but still.
  8. Feels like any and all transfer rumors and reporting have come to a complete stop with us. I know the CWC is starting soon but surely we should still be pushing seriously for deals. What’s going on? 🤦‍♂️ We aren’t seriously just going to wait around for weeks for Gittens and that’s the only signing we’re working on. And that’ll be a massive overpay, too.
  9. Nike finally stopped fucking around with the horrid kits they’ve given us lately and gave us 2 absolute beauties this time. This is the prettiest away kit in years.
  10. Which is why we need an injection of highly experienced players who have been there and done that and know how to handle it.
  11. City have had the exact sort of surgically precise week we were sold on us having leading into the CWC. They had clearly identified all their targets some time ago and went out and got each one of them with little to no drama or drawn out sagas. Cherki, Reijnders, Ait Nori in the span of 1 week. Following them doing similar in January. Now their new team gets to gel and train together all summer and can hit the ground knowing exactly what Pep wants from them once the PL starts. Meanwhile, our club is penny pinching and gaslighting the fanbase.
  12. Signing dozens of young players whilst we had also been signing loads of first team players that blocked their pathway was always going to bite us in the ass at some point and piss some of them off. That time is apparently now. Paez, Petrovic, who knows who else probably all were under the impression that they’d get a look in this summer to prove themselves worthy of staying.
  13. What I mean is the manager wants them so you’d think the club would push a bit beyond what they initially intended to to reward Maresca for achieving his goals this last season. If he wanted Maignan and the only intended to go to £12.5m, would it have really been a big deal to go to £20m? It just seems like insane logic having seen what they’ve spent on complete rando’s for years now. For literal kids aged 17 or 18 they’re willing to pay whatever is necessary even if that’s £40m+ yet for one the premier keepers who is also a leader in the squad which we badly need, we blow up the deal that would’ve been cheaper than what we paid for Sanchez.
  14. The club are treating Gittens as if he’s a superstar going back again and again for him. Dortmund appear to be smacking us around like the own us. It’s embarrassing. Imagine if they went this hard after an already top winger instead.
  15. I don’t rate Gittens highly either but he’s apparently what the manager wanted. Just like he apparently wanted Maignan. The former I couldn’t care less about but missing out on the chance to get a serious keeper really stings.
  16. We’ll pay like 20m more for Gittens than City paid for Cherki…
  17. “The club has faith in the keeper we have” is the most obnoxious gaslighting you’ll ever see. They’re actually trying to make the fanbase be,ieve that utter bullshit despite the evidence before our own eyes. It’s exactly like the striker chase last summer where everyone and their mother knew we desperately needed a top #9, we chased Osimhen all the way, and then cheated out and refused to pay what was needed. Then the club briefed everyone just like with this Maignan deal that “we trust Nico Jackson.” And then we saw how that went.
  18. Massively overpaying for a winger Dortmund don’t even want but refusing to pay for a top keeper. Starting the season with Sanchez as our #1 again just confirms that we have no ambition whatsoever from the top of the club to challenge for a title or the UCL. Just happy to be there for a few fun European nights and another fight until the last day for 4th.
  19. It’s just the idea that we were willing to shell out £20m+ for Sanchez after he was benched by Brighton no problem but won’t go there for a keeper who is much better and has a pedigree like he does is insane. A player who is super keen to join us, too! A top player basically falls into our lap and these guys may fumble it. For Kellyman, Amougou, and a dozen other random teenagers that will never wear a Chelsea first team shirt they’ll happily spend the money. For the top keeper we’ve needed since Mendy’s first season here we refuse to go about £15m? Seriously?
  20. There’s no panic if we don’t secure him before the CWC but surely it’s beneficial to have your new starting keeper in place for it since who knows what our preseason looks like this summer? Getting him settled in ASAP and hopefully playing a bunch of games during a deep run in the tournament could be all the preseason he gets.
  21. Yeah, haggling over a million here and there for a player that would cost a maximum of just over £20m is unbelievable. We spent that on the kid from Villa who will never be seen or heard from again, ffs.
  22. True. But you’d think after we worked smoothly with them with numerous sales recently they’d be willing to make this a smooth process for a player out of contract in a year and has told them in no uncertain terms that he wants out. I could understand them playing hardball if he had 3 years on his contract or something.
  23. I swear Italian clubs are the most annoying to deal with. This reminds me of dealing with Napoli.
  24. Simon Johnson says it’s not looking like.y as of yet… If we actually bottle a world class keeper over a few million pounds I’m gonna be sick. Even at £25m he’s a bargain.
