  1. Think he's young enough and talented enough for someone to want him even if it doesn't work out at Atleti. Hell, maybe we'll get super lucky and a Chinese club will offer 80m for him.
  2. Could've worked out here in a different system. One that uses two forwards. That's why I think he'll probably work out for Atleti since he won't have the pressure of being the lone striker who needs to score 25+. Lets hope he does so we can essentially get our money back in full.
  3. Surely no chance they'll take up the option at that price? Have they ever payed so much for a player? I can't remember.
  4. This is Spuds 3-0 all over again. A massive match where they start with huge intensity and we can't handle it at all. Fucking embarrassing.
  5. Kickoff 5 and a half hours away and I'm already anxious and excited. What a huge match and turning point for our whole season! Imagine the feel good factor if we win this. Get one over on a most hated rival, effectively end their season while really solidifying our top 4 fight, and we'll have a new striker coming in shortly afterwards which should help us even more going forward. I hope our big players really step up today and lead us to victory.
  6. We were never going to bring in a long term #9 in the winter window. Also, this is the first season that Piatek has burst on to the scene and has done so for a small club in a weak league. He could turn t to be a flash in the pan, one season wonder like so many have before. I doubt our club want to make another big mistake on a striker. Higuain has proven himself over the years and has worked with our manager before to great success. The club wanted what is hopefully a "sure thing" now as a stop gap. Then, once Morata and probably Giroud are moved out by summer we'll go after the long term solution which is hopefully Icardi.
  7. Do they have any important players out for this? I really hope Sarri starts Giroud here. Not only because I think he'd be effective against their shite defense, but back at the Emirates he'll be hella up for it. Make their CB's who are always shaky have to work very hard physically.
  8. After Sarri once again reiterated his point that we need a Fabregas replacement at his presser this morning. Looks like no midfielder this month. Step up Danny Drinkwater I guess.
  9. Not completely. Both play deeper in midfield. Rabiot likes to get forward a bit more which we could do with actually.
  10. That would align with what Matt Law said a few days ago then. That the club aren't even sure we need to sign a new midfielder despite Sarri saying we do numerous times. I mean, if Jorginho gets injured or gets worn down even more we're fucked. A new midfielder is nearly as important as a striker. If PSG are indeed after Paredes we should make a move for Rabiot who reportedly wants out there. I'd rather have him than Paredes anyways.
  11. Expect Mr Bug Eyes to come in from the wilderness and put in a 9/10 performance against us. Something dumb like that seems to always happen to us. A player who hasn't scored in months does so against us. A keeper who never keeps clean sheets turns into De Gea. A player out of form or out of the team comes in and is man of the match.
  12. I'm not so sure. Been seeing reports from various places that we're demanding £40m for Batshuayi and he's failed here, at Dortmund, and Valencia. If he's valued that highly by the club I'd assume Morata is likewise.
  13. Curious to see if this is a sale or loan. As shite as he's been here you know Marina is great at bleeding buying clubs for big prices even for unwanted players. Thing is, would Atelti really pay big money for someone they don't really even need? This will surely be a loan that will be treated like an audition for a permanent move.
  14. He didn't want to spread his transferitis?
  15. Higuain or Morata shitting his pants in front of goal? Higuain or Giroud waiting for crosses that never come over and over again? Higuain or Hazard getting visibly frustrated having to play up top with 8 players surrounding him in the box? Pretty easy choice, really. The January market is hellish. As evidenced by the fact that not one of our rivals have done any business yet.
  16. Rumor I'm seeing ion Twitter is that he's come down with a "fever."
  17. Okay, this is hilarious. 😂 Can certainly see why you may say this but I think he's far better than Pato, Etoo, and Falcao was at the time we loaned him. Just can't imagine him being an utter embarrassment like Morata is.
  18. If we don't get a Higuain at this point, watching Morata, Giroud, and the false 9 limp through the rest of the season struggling to score will be the death of me. For fucks sake, Arsenal appear to be in turmoil and we can end their season essentially if we beat them this weekend. Spuds will be without the striker that utterly carries them for ages and their next best scorer for weeks. This is the perfect time to capitalize on the situation and bringing in a goal scorer.
  19. I know we're all weary due to being burned by Morata, but Higuain's CV is light years better than his. In every big team he's been been apart of that was actually well set up (which Milan is not right now since they're rebuilding) he's scored at a ridiculously good rate. Unless he were to come massively overweight I simply cannot imagine him being worse than Morata. Think about all of the easy chances and 1v1's with keepers Morata has missed. Think about how all the bigger, more aggressive CB's just closely Mark Morata and he can't deal with it, gets frustrated, and then gets a needless booking for yelling at the ref. I feel like that's happened about 6 times. Higuain has always been a killer in the final third. Just trying to look on the bright side here.
  20. Assuming Sarri just doesn't fancy him (which has been clear) I'd sell and then throw whatever it takes at Leicester for Chilwell before City make their move for him.
  21. Giroud was never considered as a direct and immediate replacement for Morata. He was brought in to rotate and compete with him. Higuain would come in as the undisputed #1 option.
  22. If we're going to do anything with ANY striker I wish we'd do so early this week so we don't have to play the bloody false 9 against Arsenal, a match we have to win.
  23. From the 5 or so videos I've watched of his he looks about the same as Jorginho in terms of mobility. Certainly more athletic than Cesc but like Jorginho, he is susceptible if the ball is turned over quickly in midfield.
