I agree. He'd probably be a solid squad player, but that's not really what we need. If Dembele signed for Everton or West Ham everyone would probably say he's a solid buy. But for a club with aspirations like ours? Ehhh.

Not only would Dembele be a weird signing from our perspective (because he's so similar to Tammy) but it would also be weird from his perspective as he wouldn't be first choice. Why would he come here to be a rotation player? We need a Werner/Griezmann/Auba type striker. Not a like for like target man player.

Just did my usual YouTube scouting after seeing this tweet. This kid looks like an amazing talent but it's difficult to judge how good he'd be making the step up to a better league. He looks far too good to be in Croatia, though.

Most of our players are technically sound when they're in space but when they're pressed tightly they struggle. Only Willian and Kova are excellent under close pressure. Pulisic gets bowled over often and both Mount and Tammy regularly have loose touches. If we buy an attacker this month they need to be excellent in that regard. I know people here don't care much for him, but Zaha is one of those players.

Such a terribly sloppy, slow, laborious half. We win the ball back over and over and almost immedietly give it away. Willian, Tammy, and Mount can't get involved at all because the ball is given away time and again. This is why Kovacic is necessary. We need someone to keep the ball and do something with it in tight spaces. We're just giving Brighton more and more confidence that they can get something.

Ref already given two fouls on our players for simply being stronger than the Brighton player.

It seems like of the 3 Lamps thinks Mount is the one who is indespensible. I think it's Kova personally. I think we'll miss him in there again today.

Obviously, but that doesn't usually stop the English journalists from linking the big clubs with everyone under the sun. For instance, I haven't seen José's Spuds or the injury ravaged Arsenal linked with anyone and we know for a fact they need players.

Anyways, it's kind of weird that there aren't strong transfer links for any of the top clubs in the PL. I don't see all the outlets and journalists buzzing with much speculation at all. Just the odd loose link. All of City, Arse, United, Spuds, and ourselves have some glaring holes that need addressed. Usually this is silly season but it feels like nothing is happening.

I'd still be happy with Zaha in Chelsea blue. Dembele makes zero sense, though.

He just doesn't seem good enough nor different enough to be a player we should be after. I trust Frank, though.
