Actually, most Arse fans are probably glad they lost that. They can now focus 100% on the PL without going to the middle of nowhere on Thursday nights all season long. This is good for Arteta as well. He can try to pull a Conte when we were out of Europe.

Our team really can't park the bus against a side like Liverpool. You do that and you just invite their two fullbacks to smack in fantastic crosses over and over again. And with our dreadful defending from crosses.....yikes. We've had success playing against them this season by aggressively going at them. You have to nullify their fullbacks as well as possible by pressing them and forcing them to defend. That'll likely lead to counter attacking scenarios where we are also weak. Basically, we need to play out of our skin again and hope Liverpool have another off day. But I get the feeling that they'll be well up for this. The chance to contribute to our missing out on top 4 is enough motivation. I know if I was a Liverpool fan I'd love to make us super nervous heading into Wolves.

I actually do think Batshuayi would do quite well at WH. Barkley, too, since he'd be playing much more consistently. But yeah, WH have this delusion that they're above signings like these two. Even though nearly every big money signing they've made recently has been a massive bust. As for Skriniar, have a look at his YouTube compilations. I just watched and was smiling/laughing for much of it. He's like a wild, out of control animal. Runs around all over the pitch and bulldozes everyone. He's so damn aggressive. I'm really not sure he's the CB we need at all. We need a calm, steady, disciplined CB.

Yep. Was just coming here to say this. It'll take him really pushing for the move + a mega transfer fee (because he's English and their best player) for us to secure this one. And I'm not sure the club will sanction mega money on Rice if we do so on Havertz.
-
Weird how silent Honigstein has been today. Couple of days ago he tweeted that Havertz wasn't even close to any move, that nothing was decided, and that nothing would be decided any time soon. Now we see a bunch of reputable sources today saying he has made his mind up to come here, agreed personal terms, and even spoken to Frank. Wonder which is true...
-
Damn, I remember Stones being the hottest property out there a couple years ago with us right on the verge of getting him. He was pretty damned good initially for City as well and I was pretty jealous of them. Now because of injuries and form I haven't even seen him in what feels like an eternity. Wonder if he can find his way back to Everton.
-
Now we wait to see how easy or otherwise Bayer are to deal with. Are they classy like Leipzig and Ajax were, or are they like Napoli and that cunt ADL who is impossible to negotiate with?
-
This is one of those rare transfer links where the jealousy is nearly unanimous amongst opposition fans. Reading around all the other clubs' forums and they all hate that we may get Havertz. 😆 Even with Werner who is one of the most lethal and top class strikers in Europe there were some who don't rate him and think he'll be "the new Morata." But this one? Nah. City forum in particular are gutted they aren't after him.
-
Personal terms were never going to be an issue. That's the easy part. Agreeing a fee with Bayer was always going to be the tricky bit. You have to assume they're going to play hardball and stick to their demands. He is their best player after all. I think this will happen after the PL season ends and we can start moving players on.
-
Amazing fee to pay for Ake and a great move for him. Definitely a Pep CB as well. Both Ake and Laporte play as left sided CB's so I wonder which of them will shift to the other side.
-
Not gonna blow my load til something is announced. Best transfer window we've ever had if we complete this one. And not even near finished, either.... 😳
-
This just seems like such a silly link for me. The equivalent of saying "Chelsea is interested in Neymar," or "Chelsea is interested in Mbappe." Just an impossible transfer due to the money involved.
-
Having the base of our midfield being Rice + one of Kante, Jorginho, or Billy would be immense. And if we are indeed after Rice I pray it's as a DM. It's where he has played for all but 1 of West Ham's games since the restart. He looked mediocre in defense but has looked great in midfield.
-
I think Barkley's future is more at stake than Ruben's. Havertz is what Barkley was always hyped up to be since he was a teenager. I could see Barkley staying until January and then moving then if he doesn't get many games. And I think we could milk quite a large fee from a midtable side like West Ham. Hell, maybe even this summer as part of a deal for Declan Rice.
-
Oh, wow! Now that's an update I like to wake up to! If it's true that he has spoken to Frank, it's almost in the 👜 Ornstein says in his tweet that there may be "a short wait in case of other options" or something like that, so I'm guessing he's giving Real Madrid and maybe City one last chance? Either way, it seems now like it's just a matter of how we pay (structure of add-ons) now.
-
I know he's had a few howlers this season (like every keeper will once in a while) but what do you guys think about a cheeky bid for DDG this summer? Their fans all think it's time to move on from him with Dean Henderson waiting in the wings. Several high profile pundits and former players think they should move on. I think if we went to them with a reasonable offer we could nab him. Still only 29 so young for a keeper and still world class when focused and in form. I'd have him in a heartbeat.
-
Same for Arse. Let's see how Arteta manages them with EL to deal with as well.
-
Wolves will not make it easy for us by any means on the final day. Would be an unreal feeling to somehow get 3 points against Liverpool so we don't have to shit ourselves going into Wolves.
-
Hopefully that's a dagger that demoralizes Leicester.
-
Pinning my hopes on a club famous for bottling it to not bottle it is torture. For the love of God, Spuds. Don't fuck this up!
-
Said it a couple days ago and I'll say it again now, Arse will get nowhere near the top 4 next season. These two fantastic results (getting battered in both but still winning) are great for them, but they are a million miles away from being a top team. And they're skint just like Spuds so will only be able to slightly improve their team. City, United, and ourselves will be considerably stronger next season. Arse will be a bit better.
-
Pep must be going supernova inside. At this rate he may spunk City's entire budget on defenders. 😂
-
Atleti isn't even a massive, globally supported club. And Lá Liga payouts aren't nearly what PL payouts are, right? How can a club pay wages like that then?
-
Jesus. I didn't know Atleti could pay those sorts of wages. I always thought of them as sort of a medium sized club like Spuds that pay decent wages but nothing crazy like the very big clubs do.
-
Oblak is impossible. And after a mega outlay on one failed keeper I doubt we'd ever do that again. People need to get Oblak out of their hands. Even if we did want him he's at the absolute perfect club right now under the perfect manager. Doubt he has any desire to leave. Just go for Onana. Ajax are an easy club to negotiate with and he'd cost a fraction of Oblak.
