Giroud has maybe been our most important player since the restart after Pulisic. He may fluff a few chances with clumsy footwork, but he is a true focal point. If he were 5 years younger he'd be our undisputed starting #9 next season.

Makes sense if he a smart kid. If you are 28 or something then CL football might be the deal breaker. But at 21 it should be all about a long term project and development. Chelsea is the perfect place to come and be a part of a club back on the up with a great mix of experience and youth. CL footy is a bonus.

Is Maddison done for the season? If so I think they could legit lose all 3. Sheff United and Spuds are so inconsistent that you never know which side will show up, but I could easily see Leicester losing to both of those. And then it's United on the last day which, if it still means anything by then, you'd back United to win.

I see the Onana links are popping up again. Something I hadn't considered until now is AFCON. Every team is used to coping without outfield players during that competition, but it would be pretty significant to be without your #1 keeper for an extended period.

FFP was already going to be relaxed if not completely gone this summer due to the virus. That plus now having the evidence that UEFA are toothless means that if clubs with unlimited money like City and PSG want to they can go ape shit. I just don't think he'll ever become anything more than a solid player. Never truly good enough to be our main #9 who instills fear in defenses like Didier or Diego Costa. He just doesn't have enough to his game. At his best he's a great poacher but he's simply an average all around footballer. He's not a threat at all when he's outside the box. If Tammy were the starting striker for a midtable side like Everton or something I don't think we'd pay him much attention. We'd say yeah he's alright but nothing special. Also, while he is young, he's isn't 17 or 18 young. He's pretty much the player he's going to be now. Not like he's going to dramatically improve his ability on the ball or start curling in worldies from 30 yards. He is who he will be.
