  1. Isak looks to me like the sort of signing Arsenal would make. A good talent that has the potential to become a great buy but is also a risk. Comes across as a player that mid level clubs pursue because they aren’t attractive enough to lure the very best. Do I think he’d be decent for us? Probably. But is he the sort of striker who can take us up to City’s level in the league? Nope. If we’re dead set on getting a striker this summer no matter what and fail with Haaland, I think the only “let’s take a punt on this guy” forward I’d be reasonably happy with is Vlahovic. Got all the tools to become world class and is so young that even if he starts slowly can get better and better with great coaching. Less risky for me than Isak.
  2. Good question. Players like Kane and now Son soon with his new contract are probably on big wages, though. So maybe? Can’t imagine Sterling being willing to step down to Spuds. But someone like Gabriel Jesus would benefit from it massively. Being the main man up top at Spuds playing every week instead of odd appearances here and there at City.
  3. I think Spuds would be insane to turn down £100m + Sterling or Laporte if that’s what they’ve offered. That’s the best they could possibly get I think. Trouble is convincing someone like Sterling to step down big time to go to Tottenham.
  4. Settling for a much lesser player after missing out on our top target is dumb. If not Haaland just invest heavily in other areas of the team and pray we make top 4 or win the CL again and can try for him next year. If we buy Isak for big money and he sucks we’re stuck with him and one of our rivals could sign Haaland.
  5. Yeah, I do agree that it’s sad when world class players choose to go to the French league. Just seems like a waste. But it’s hard to blame anyone for wanting to play in Paris and earning a mega salary. And most years they’ll be walking that shite league with their eyes closed. On top of that, you can be sure that the wives and girlfriends of many players are begging them to choose Paris.
  6. Tbf, imagine how easy life is for a player at PSG. Can’t blame him.
  7. Hasn’t Gattuso been very average for the most part as a manager? Spuds going from chasing one mediocre Italian manager to another. Totally Spursy. Why would Kane want to stay there?
  8. Unlike Silva who is a similar age, Ramos is a totally different type of CB. He’s a hothead who will pull off the brilliant at times and the catastrophic as well. I’m not sure he’d take to the PL well at this age.
  9. With Emerson surely leaving it seems kind of unrealistic to think we’ll let Alonso leave as well. Tuchel seemed to like him in certain matches and he is very useful to have if we are going to continue using a system with wingbacks. So I’m not sure I’m buying any rumor about including him in any deals.
  10. In the same way Grealish doesn’t make any sense for City in my opinion, he doesn’t make any sense for us either. It’s a stupid rumor that nobody should pay any mind to.
  11. I don’t really pay much attention to anything but the last 5-10 fixtures. And on paper anyways they look quite favorable for us assuming we invest well this summer. I’d rather have a very tough start than a very tough run in which is what we’ve got.
  12. Grealish is one of those players who I absolutely despise watching when he’s on another team but who is probably adore if he was in Chelsea blue. I don’t see how or where he’d fit into our side and I think these rumors are complete bs anyways. We’ve got Werner and CP who play in his area.
  13. PSG are the French Man City. Usually look brilliant domestically but choke over and over and over again in Europe on the biggest stage. Don’t care who they buy, they’ll never be truly scary in the CL until they actually win it.
  14. Feels a lot like last summer with Havertz. Lots of smoke and heavy links early and then things went quiet for long periods and then we finally signed him. Here, we heard a bunch about Haaland and Hakimi and now nothing for days. Probably won’t hear more for about a month until after the Euro’s.
  15. Seems like none of the big English clubs are going to be making much noise during the Euro’s. Everything seems to be quiet.
  16. I was all in for Lukaku a week or two ago before we were linked with Haaland. But if Haaland is impossible this summer I wouldn’t want us to settle for any other striker. It’ll likely be much, MUCH more difficult if not impossible to get Haaland next summer when every big club in Europe can afford him but I guess we should gamble. If no Haaland this summer, strengthen the team as much as possible in other areas and hope like hell Werner, Havertz, Pulisic, and Ziyech step up. Don’t shackle ourselves to a lesser striker and then see Haaland move to a rival.
  17. Nah. But only because we have options at RWB whereas we don’t with striker. Missing out on Hakimi wouldn’t be devastating.
  18. I assume your definition is basically just Messi or Neymar level players?
  19. Tbf, I don’t think anyone is too big for our club. By fantasy signing I mean someone who we didn’t think was possible because their clubs would be mad to let them go. Someone you had no idea was actually possible because they aren’t generally available.
  20. I mean, he’s arguably the best in the world at his position…
  21. Not sure replacing two of the best players in Europe with Tammy and CHO would appeal much to Dortmund. 😅
  22. I just think that Dortmund’s supporters would riot if they sold both in the same window. There’s no chance they’d be able to make up for the production of their two best players. They’d basically be giving up on next season before it even begins.
  23. Sounds like there’s finally some concrete movement with United and Sancho. That’ll probably get done soon. So that’s probably it for any small hope we had for Haaland.
  24. I think it has wayyyy less to do with us and more to do with the fact that we are no longer the richest kids on the block. There are now LOTS of big clubs that can afford to pay astronomical fees and wages to attract top players. Whereas before we could simply outbid anyone, now (all things being equal without the pandemic) we can’t. Says nothing about our draw or appeal for me.
  25. Feels like both our main targets need to be closed quickly or we’ll have no chance. Hakimi has concrete interest from PSG and they’ll eventually up their offer. Haaland I feel will need to happen before they sell Sancho or there’s no way it’ll be possible.
