If we’re after a DM I don’t know why we’d allow Leicester to sign Soumaré for cheap. I’ve rated him for a couple of years now and God knows he’ll be worth triple what they pay for him in a couple of seasons like always with Leicester. A midfield of Ndidi, Soumaré, and Tielemans is crazy good and balanced.

Pep strikes me very much like a win now guy. He’s got this unbelievable core of guys now and Kane can make them firm favorites for the next 2-3 years with that core. While for me Haaland is a guaranteed success were he to come to the PL there is still some risk of him needing to adjust like we’ve seen with Timo. If Kane is fit he’s already instantly the best #9 in the league and not a risk at all. You’ve got to capitalize on the primes of Kdb, Sterling, Walker, Gundogan etc before they start to wane physically. So a shorter term option makes sense. They were after 34 year old Messi last summer, remember.

Feels to me like one of those situations where he and his agent have gotten signals from one or more clubs that they’re interested and will formally make a move for him.
