I think we’ll go all out for Lukaku. It seems to be the common assumption everywhere that Inter must sell someone this summer and it’s obvious that that was the reason Conte quit. So they’ll surely be much easier to negotiate with than Dortmund. Kane was always a fantasy and if they bring back Poch I doubt he’ll want out anyways. We should certainly try to tempt Haaland and negotiate with BVB, though. It would be gutting to see him scoring for fun for City/United/Liverpool.
-
Unless there’s a huge clear out that brings us huge money I can’t see another summer like last one. Like, unless we bring in something like £100m from sales it seems extremely unlikely we can afford Lukaku, Rice, and a fullback. We surely can’t spend £400m over two summers. I feel like we’ll get 1 marquee signing and a couple of squad additions to replenish what we sell.
-
That’s the only way I’d let him go. If we get a direct upgrade straight away.
-
It would be super short sighted and plain stupid to sell CHO. Tammy I’m fine with letting go but CHO is extremely useful to have in the squad.
-
Not convinced Eden is completely done. If he came back “home” and was a rotation option rather than the main man expected to carry the whole team I think he’s still extremely useful. As for Conte, I sincerely hope he doesn’t go to Spuds. Not just because I still really like him but because he could be exactly what they need to take the next step up. Unlike José he’s a builder and gets along with his players. He may be extremely difficult to work with from the boards perspective but he’ll build you a winning team if given the chance. Bringing him in would be just the sort of ambitious move that could get Kane to stay and also help attract top players. So I hope he goes elsewhere.

It surely won’t happen (I pray) but imagine if we passed on bringing Hazard back and instead brought Willian back. 😂😂😂
-
I was just watching quite a bit of Camavinga on YouTube a couple of days ago and was actually not that impressed, really. I get that he’s super young and highly talented but even on YouTube where anyone can be made to look amazing he really did nothing for me. In fact, Leicester’s soon to be new signing and who we should’ve been after Soumaré looks much better to me. And he’s only 22.
-
Willian lmao You know he regrets rejecting our contract offer everyday.
-
I’m definitely not giving up on Werner and Havertz and expect huge things out of both next season. Ziyech I kind of worry about.
-
City have shown this season that you can dominate the league without a traditional striker. Liverpool haven’t really had one and dominated everyone as well. Firmino is more of a playmaker. But you need goals from all over the pitch from you attacking mids to make it work. If Havertz, Pulisic, Mount, and Werner all take a step up next season then I suppose I could imagine us trying for Sancho instead of a striker and going the “death by midfielder” route like City. It would be extremely risky, though.
-
I just don’t believe he could’ve declined so drastically in such a short time. For me it’s all about being in his comfort zone again. Maybe he just isn’t cut out for the absurd pressure of being in Madrid with a massive price to live up to. Yeah he’s 30 but that’s not a huge issue for me. He’s not 35. Plenty of players in their mid 30’s still doing very well in this league and they aren’t near Eden’s level.
-
I’d have Hazard back in a heartbeat without even thinking about it. Fit and happy he’s can become a beast again for a few years. Of course keeping him fit is the key there, but unlike last time he was here the weight of the world won’t be on only his shoulders. As for the striker issue, things are looking incredibly dire, huh? Sounds like we might have to take a massive punt in a lesser known or up and coming guy rather than an established star. Kane, Haaland, Lukaku, Aguero. All impossible by the sound of it.

Champions League Final 2021 - Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Feel like we’ll either get battered or keep an extremely improbable clean sheet and win 1-0 from a Rüdiger header. -
Think they’ll be back to their best next season, sadly. They can finally get healthy and will freshen up their squad with some new players. We have to be extremely good in the market because both Liverpool and United will be getting stronger.
-
Yes, but it feels like this season we’re much better in the buildup and approach play. We often create chances that anyone with composure should be burying. Feels like Timo choked on two dozen 1v1’s with keepers this season. Mount and CP missing the target despite having 80% of the goal to aim at over and over again like they each did today. For fucks sake, we’re just 1 or 2 players away. Tuchel should drop to his knees and BEG Roman for a striker.
-
Ironically, Tammy in last seasons form probably would’ve been enough.
-
Pathetic. Never mind world class, imagine if we had a merely serviceable #9 that scored 15 goals in the league this year. We would’ve probably been a comfortable 2nd place.
-
Werner and Havertz have been nowhere near what we hoped for and expected but I wouldn’t call either busts yet. They’ve both at least shown glimpses and have contributed here and there. Chilly has been good. Mendy obviously very solid. Thiago Silva has exceeded expectations and been amazing. The only new signing that has genuinely flopped hard is Ziyech. Which really hurts and is inexplicable. I predicted last summer that he would be the best of the new boys in the short term because of his age and ready made skill set. I just don’t get what happened with him.

Every time someone tweets those stats about our top scorers this season I just cringe. It’s ridiculous. Jorginho, with 7 pens, is our leading scorer. For a club with hundreds of millions of pounds in attacking talent. The likes of Lingard and Bamford were scoring with ease. A 35 year old Cavani scoring goals. Gümdogan from CM scoring for fun. It’s amateurish to see a massive club like ourselves with a pathetic attack like this. Every team in the top half has a reliable goal scorer except for us. That’s totally ridiculous. We need to do what we did with Diego Costa and quickly identify and execute in the market.
-
Only thing in our favor is that City aren’t used to the stage as a club. They could bottle it, who knows. One thing is for sure, if Kante and Mendy are both our injured it could get ugly. Just long shots for days from Mahrez, Kdb, Foden etc. We have no shot if Kova & Jorginho are the midfield 2.
-
Any of our players celebrating today should be slapped. Bunch of useless bottlers. Another summer of massive change needed. We need bloody goal getters who take chances when they’re presented with them. Just fucking drop a £150m bag on Dortmund’s doorstep for Haaland, ffs.
-
Liverpool have had the nightmare season from hell with their whole team injured most of the season. And they’ve finished above us. That’s how embarrassing our lot have been.
-
And that’s that. Bye bye.
-
Chance after chance after chance. No goal. Both rivals taking care of their business. This is humiliating.
-
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT??! 😡😡😡😡 How do you slice and miss a SITTER like that?
