  1. EVERY. SINGLE. BALL. forward wayward, ffs.
  2. It’s like our players thought Southampton would come out for the second half and roll over. Once they lucked out and had that goal disallowed they will have been hugely confident coming back out.
  3. Zero creativity in midfield has cost us dearly once more. Should be FAR out of sight, done and dusted.
  4. My goodness. Only one team has come out at half time and it ain’t us. Getting dominated in this half by a team who hasn’t fucking win this season.
  5. Press the fucking ball. My god. Just allowing them to comfortably stroke the ball around.
  6. If we had prime Leipzig Werner from 2 years ago he would’ve feasted in that first half, btw. Got into lots of positions where he destroyed the Bundesliga. Still has no confidence when he’s 1v1 in wide areas to take his man on and shoot.
  7. Ruben looks incredible these last 3 appearances all the way up until the final ball. Similarly to Kova. They carry the ball from deep, skip past 2-3 players, and then they both choke with the final pass. When City and Liverpool carve through poor teams like we have done here they run the score up by getting 5-6 goals. That’s the big difference with us. Our poor finishing is going to give Southampton the confidence and belief that they can get at least a point here now.
  8. Should be 4-0 up right now, ffs. Ruling out a goal for a soft ass foul 60 second before it’s scored. Disgrace.
  9. We are absolutely clueless as a team in the final third. Over and over and over again we get the ball into or around their box and have no idea what to do with it.
  10. This is my worry as well. Who is going to feed Timo and Rom the ball here? I guess we’re banking of CHo and Chilly to do so from wide? I just hope we hurry up and get back to playing confident, front foot mentality after the last 2 shocking performances. If we come out here and start walking about like a Sunday morning stroll in the park I’m going to start to worry about us. Two poor performances in a row is concerning. Three would be dangerous.
  11. All the good vibes form a few weeks ago have been sapped for me personally. It’s especially worrying how poor EVERY one of our attacking players look. Not a single one is playing well. Literally all 3 attacking player we bought last summer looks a shadow of what they were before coming to Chelsea. Werner was one of the most lethal strikers in the world, Ziyech was an incredible magician who put up silly numbers, and Kai was a silky wonder kid who could score and assist at a hugely impressive level. A year and a half later and none of them are even half the player we had hoped. Even Mr. Consistent himself Mason Mount has been poor this season. Our midfield signing this summer has fallen behind RLC and Ross fucking Barkley in the pecking order. Two players we couldn’t GIVE away this summer. Depressing as hell. If we don’t get 3 points this weekend and in impressive fashion we could really spiral here.
  12. Didn’t think it was possible to play worse than we did against City. This was WAY worse. At least City are a brilliant attacking side who pressed like monsters and carved through us with quality. Juve had no attacking ambition at all and completely controlled us for the vast majority of the game. Had they had their full team fit this would still be the worst Juve in memory. The fact that we got outplayed by their B team is shocking. We’re looking an awful lot like frauds at the moment. Hyped up as a juggernaut recently and now we look terrible. We will be nowhere near the PL title or even getting to the last 8 of the CL unless we improve massively. And quickly.
  13. Neither Alonso nor Azpi can get on the ball and beat defenders one on one. That is an issue they’ve ALWAYS had. They aren’t technically good enough and they aren’t fast enough. They should ONLY play wingback against teams we are vastly better than. Just imagine TT’s setup if we had the two Liverpool fullbacks. We’d be unstoppable. We need pace and aggression in those areas. Azpi and Alonso are statues.
  14. What a fucking infuriating performance. We all KNEW Juve would set up ultra defensively and that’s exactly what they’ve done. So what do we do? We make it extremely easy for them to park their entire team behind the ball by playing walking pace football with ZERO ideas about how to penetrate the lines. Kova and Jorginho didn’t seem to pass the ball forward AT ALL and neither wingback seemed to cross the halfway line in any sort of dangerous position. And to make things even more annoying, Juve’s only real dangerous moments that whole half came from schoolboy errors from us. Lazy square passes (which Kova has been doing for years now) and silly fouls that this idiot ref is all to glad to whistle. We looked like a clueless Mourinho team there who has never trained attacking patterns.
  15. Azpi & Alonso again. Damnit. They have their uses and have done well to start this season but come on… Chilwell, when in form, is one of the best LB’s in Europe and he hasn’t gotten a significant kick for club or country since the CL final in which he was brilliant. I simply do not understand it. Against super quick, super skillful Juve wingers like Cuadrado and Chiesa we start a LWB who can barely move defensively. Full trust in TT but man this is frustrating.
  16. Seems Juve are missing half their team including some of their best players. Expect they’ll try to make this a defensive slog and be as physical as possible with us. So I hope we don’t go with a conservative XI that includes Azpi as a wingback. Pick an attacking team, start out on the front foot, and put ourselves in a completely commanding position in the group by wining this. Would be ridiculous and make us look like frauds if we lose to a terrible Juve team missing so many key players. After that shambolic shitshow against City where we looked like a terrified youth team our players need to put in a serious performance. It’s about time the likes of Havertz & Ziyech start contributing with some goals and assists.
  17. Never want to see Arse doing well but since it’s against Spuds this is amusing. Don’t think Arse are anything to worry about from our perspective. As well as they’re playing here they’re basically being invited to by this shocking Spuds team. A midfield with Xhaka in it and a bunch of kids isn’t going to trouble anyone in the top 4.
  18. Spuds have been dreadful since the start of the season but got 3 lucky results. Now their shit play has been catching up with them and they’re getting punished.
  19. Yeah, the Alonso experiment against any top opponent should end after today. We need Chilwell back in the fold ASAP and need to hope Reece is fine after his injury.
  20. The only big concern about the last several matches (even those we’ve won) is that opponents now know there’s a clear way to really disrupt and get at us. Liverpool, Spuds in the first half, Villa, and now City. If you play with super high energy and press like maniacs you will find joy against Chelsea. Fortunately, not every team has the ridiculous talent that City have so we haven’t been punished until today. Every opponent is likely going to at least try to do this now and see if they can rattle us with an early goal.
  21. Wake up call doesn’t mean the sky is falling. Just that we have quite a ways to go before we can deal with extreme press reliably and link our midfield and strikers. We should be bouncing straight back with our PL fixtures coming up. But these are the sort of shit teams in terrible runs we fucked up against last season.
  22. Also, we allowed the smallest man on the pitch to boss it on our home patch. Bernardo Silva just effortlessly dominated our whole midfield. Think about that. We had Kante, Jorginho, AND Kova and let that little dwarf run the entire game. 🙃🙃🙃
  23. Massive wake up call. As a pure footballing side we are miles behind City. The passing and moving, the triangles, the extreme comfort on the ball. They’re miles ahead in those departments. And the biggest gulf is how many chances they create in the final third compared to us. They carved us open and would’ve scored 4 had it not been for Mendy being brilliant. We looked clueless going forward the few times we actually did. Aimless crosses hoping Rom could bail us out.
  24. Been like this in most games so far. He makes an excellent run but the likes of Azpi, Mount etc aren’t confident enough to play it through. If we had prime Cesc in this team Lukaku would feast.
