Yeah, the more I watch of Gordon the more I like the look of him. The price is just outrageously inflated and I can’t get over it. He looks like the exact sort of player Klopp & Liverpool would target. Relentless, ridiculous energy, excellent on the ball, beats players in space with ease, and works super hard for the team. The difference is Liverpool would sign this type of player for like £15m from some Championship side or form Scotland or something whereas we’re bidding £45m or more. I’d rather see Gordon running himself into the ground and wreaking havoc with his pace than lazy ass CHO who doesn’t even attempt to do those things anymore.

At the time he signed he was still recovering from that catastrophic injury. That was a potential career threatening leg break so if you’re offered a new contract when your career is in question I don’t blame him for signing. This isn’t a Declan Rice or Harry Kane situation where they idiotically signed 6 year deals when they were fit and getting better and better. Plus, there’s no way he expected a huge club like Chelsea to be after him so strongly when he signed.

My guess is cash plus a player Rodgers can use will get it done. The rumors about our side not wanting that “world’s most expensive defender” tag on Fofana’s head I actually think is true. Having that pressure on you as a 21 year old (and especially in a position like CB where mistakes can have catastrophic consequences) could prove very detrimental. I just want to get him in ASAP. As impressive as RLC was against Spuds and as good as Reece looked at RCB, I don’t want to see that anymore. I want Reece bombing up and down the flank and a proper beast of a natural RCB behind him. Really hope we push this through before Leeds.

More and more reports everyday that CR7 is still desperate to leave United. Tbh, I’d have him for one year without hesitation over giving Auba a 3 year deal or whatever he’d get. We don’t want to saddle ourselves to a 34 year old striker who has had character issues before on huge wages. If Auba bombs this season we wouldn’t be able to get rid of him. CR7 could come in, get us 12-15 PL goals, a handful of important CL goals which he’s desperate to score, and then retire to LA Galaxy next summer.

Casadei feels like a pure punt. Has to have been recommended by someone who has extensively scouted him from our youth setup becasue that’s the only plausible explanation. We’re just taking a chance for €15m that he becomes something. But as I said last night I don’t see it from what I’ve watched. When YouTube highlights can make anyone look amazing, this kid’s highlights don’t look impressive at all. And that’s at youth level where you’d expect a “wonderkid” to dominate. Comparing his footage to the lad Carney that we’ve just signed and they look like completely different levels. Feels like a player we won’t see in a first team Chelsea shirt for years, if ever.

So are we sending Cassadei on loan straight away back to Italy? Development squad? I just don’t get it otherwise.

To be honest, this Casadei kid were apparently crazy about getting doesn’t look like anything special at all from what I’m watching. Doesn’t look like some wonderkid or future superstar. Not even remotely as impressive as the other young midfielder we just signed.

Zaha has had like 5 golden opportunities to score literally inside the Liverpool box and a dreadful first touch ruins it every time.

Why spend money on this Italian kid when we’ve already bought a young super talent for midfield for £20m? Why not use that money towards a ready made, top class midfielder like De Jong who can help us NOW?

Thinking about it more, now I’m actually worried that the sudden Anthony Gordon interest is because Fofana is a no-go. That Reece will become the RCB full time and Gordon is being bought as our new starting RWB. 😣😣😣

So Tuchel better be damned sure he’s going to be a top class player. This is the sort of money you spend on an established PL player who has a couple of seasons of great football. This kid has shown flashes of class but is still raw.

Just watched a 15 minute YouTube video of Gordon. After seeing the footage I can definitely see a quality talent who could be molded into a top wingback. Definitely do not see a Chelsea quality attacking player, though. Much like Cucurella, he’s got that relentless aggression and can run nonstop for a whole match. Price is absolutely silly. If we do this I pray that we still bring in Fofana and a striker and that this deal doesn’t prevent those.

We’d be insane not to spend on these two positions before pissing tens of millions up the wall on a kid from Everton.

I think Kai was much more assertive and aggressive today compared to last week. Also actually controlling the ball nicely. It’s just that he’s doing it all from a wide position where he can’t actually get into position to score which is where we need him.

That may just be the best I’ve ever seen this particular group press as a unit. Didn’t really give any Spuds player a sniff all over the pitch. Kane was invisible, Kulu was invisible, and Son was forced to drop extremely deep to get the ball. Only blemishes were that we are only 1 goal up which is hugely dangerous and the Reece yellow card. We probably can’t keep up this super high energy press all 90 minutes with this heat. So we have to be extremely smart and not make silly mistakes on the counter.
