  1. If Rabiot is their alternative to De Jong rather than someone they want in addition to De Jong then they’re even more incompetent than I thought they were. I simply can’t believe that’s the case. They surely want both.
  2. Getting Werner, Lukaku, Barkley, Kepa, and CHO out in one summer would be crazy. Ziyech and RLC links have died, unfortunately. And I wish they were all permanent instead of mostly loans. I’d upgrade Pulisic if given the chance as well but that’s probably too much turnover at once.
  3. Yeah, I think this is a pretty good read on the situation. He seems pretty desperate to stay. Unless Barca themselves tell him straight up that he HAS to go I think he will pull a Dembele in the end and reduce his salary.
  4. Like I said last night, if we genuinely want De Jong I feel like we have to move very quickly now. United were embarrassed yesterday and are in scrape the bottom of the barrel desperation mode in the market looking at names like Arnautovic and Rabiot. They’ll be at the point soon where they’ll be on their knees offering De Jong to write his own contract terms. If they don’t sort their midfield out this week they could be looking at an Arsenal of last season start where they go 0 points from their first 9 available. So if we want him it needs to be within the next couple of days.
  5. Barca really are a disgracefully run club. To go balls to the wall signing 10 players when their wage situation is catastrophic is insane. Hopefully we can swoop in and take advantage with De Jong and perhaps one of their strikers.
  6. I really wanted Zaha a couple of years ago when we were heavily linked and love him as a player. But he’s just about to turn 30 in a few months and his game is totally dependent on pace and athleticism which could start to decline sharply very soon. Doesn’t seem like a wise buy at all at this point. Not even if it’s a cheap deal.
  7. He can say CL is very important but if for instance we offer him the same ~£300k per week that we gave Sterling whilst United offer him £400k or more he may think that extra cash is more appealing than CL footy.
  8. Pedro Neto is definitely the sort of player we should be targeting in terms of style. Direct, super skillful, aggressive. Was excellent yesterday against Leeds. But I’m not seeing us linked anywhere.
  9. We have to go for him this week. With as shit as United look with McFred they may very well get spanked by Brentford next weekend 🤣. Then they’ll offer Frenkie £500k a week plus name Old Trafford after him in desperation. Seriously though, it should be easy enough to speak with his agent and find out whether or not he’d be willing to join us, surely? I would really hope that he was discussed during the Alonso negotiations.
  10. Damn. Not gonna lie, seeing him doing stuff like that paired with Kova or Kante would be insane.
  11. Could be worse for us. United have bid for Marko Arnautovic 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  12. Once he spoke with Pep and City’s hierarchy gave the green light there’s no way he was ever going to come here. We got lucky that the City board said no to going big on Cucurella despite Pep wanting him. Haaland was always going to go to a well oiled machine of a side as his post Dortmund move. Not a side in transition like us. If it wasn’t City it would have been Bayern.
  13. I don’t think we can afford to take a gamble on a basically unknown young striker from a small league. Not for big money. We either need to wait for someone top class to become available which is super risky given who we have currently or we sign someone cheap now either as a stopgap for a year or in hopes that they can be good enough to be the long term solution.
  14. I mean, do you think we can survive with only Havertz and Broja?
  15. I don’t fancy either of them. But I’m struggling to see any alternatives.
  16. I think our new forward will be one of the Barca strikers. They need wages off their books and will let one of Auba or Memphis go.
  17. Ronaldo has dragged them through the mud all summer long but now they’ll treat him like a hero when he comes on here.
  18. He’s been terrible so far. And he looks even smaller than I imagined. He reminds me of that dwarf Torreira that Arse had in midfield a couple of years ago. 🤣
  19. Potter has to be under consideration if (God forbid) Tuchel comes under fire over the next couple of years. Excellent coach.
  20. £85m bid + £450k a week for De Jong incoming after this match from United. They’ll be embarrassed even if they come back and win this. McTominay and Fred are Championship standard players.
  21. UNITED 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Brighton are playing them off the park here! On their home pitch! Potter really is an unbelievable coach. Consider the players he’s had to sell in the last 2 summers and they still look this solid.
  22. No deal for Fofana is imminent then if he’s starting for Leicester. Like Alonso yesterday, you wouldn’t want a player getting injured if a move is on the brink. Especially not an £80m one. Hope we really push this coming week to have him in for the Spuds game.
  23. Oh, wow. Wonder what kind of fee we’re getting for him. Really sad about how it turned out for Timo. He’s a humble, quiet guy who always tried his best and genuinely wanted to make an impact. I really thought he’d be a major hit for us when he first signed. If he’s going and CHO is as well, surely we have a forward of some sort already lined up? The Ziyech links totally dried up but he could still go too.
  24. We’re getting all these super high earners and unwanted players off our books but only on loan. Lukaku, Werner, Kepa, CHO. Is this going to bite us in the ass next summer when they all return and the clubs loaning them decide against taking up any buy options they have?
  25. Think it’s mostly the system not suiting him at all. But he definitely also seems like such a timid guy on the pitch. Very passive.
