Would be the ultimate embarrassment if we hand City money to buy our #1 CB target by taking their 4th choice one.
-
Imagine believing that. As if an American billionaire who knows jack shit about football would call up an 18 year old footballer and speak with him.
-
Bet you they won’t even have short term success either. Real Madrid will own LaLiga for the foreseeable future with the side they’ve assembled. Barca won’t touch them next season even with Lewa up top. And their defense and midfield are far too weak to do serious damage in the CL. They’re basically just doing all of this to appease their supporters with shiny toys.
-
Yep. Like I said yesterday, I bet you anything that within the couple of years they’re going to be in deep shit once again. But next time instead of being forced to let go of Messi they’ll have to sell off they’re prized jewel youngsters. They’re one of, if not the worst transfer market club in the world.

Feels like De Ligt is the one target that we need to be quickest about. As in before we give City a bunch of money or United miss out on that dude from Ajax and turn their attention to De Ligt. He may not be the best player we sign this summer but he is probably the most important if we pull it off. Could anchor our defensive unit for a decade.
-
Antony will flop in the PL. Mark my words. I actually hope United buy him for some silly fee.
-
Worse yet, imagine turning down more money and a better team (in Raphinha’s case) or straight up taking a massive pay cut to stay (in Dembele’s case). Just our shit luck that two of our biggest targets are so in love with Barca that they’ll accept worse terms to be there.
-
If J5 goes to Juve for De Ligt, maybe. Otherwise there’s no room for him.
-
I don’t think Tuchel would ask for it and I think Boehly being a brand new owner won’t force any signing on him. Neymar I can kind of see. CR7, no. If he was 5 years younger perhaps.
-
Bayern would suit CR7 perfectly. Bayern will piss the league as usual and he’ll put up monster goal scoring stats (which is what matters to him most) just like Lewa does. They would also have n excellent chance at adding to his CL legacy. He could extend his career by 3 more top years in Germany. Thing is, he’s not a Bayern sort of buy.
-
Yeah, I see the CR7 rumors are simmering again like 2 weeks ago. Apparently being reported by Duncan Castles as well who is pretty much a direct Jorge Mendes mouthpiece. It’s almost unimaginable for me to think Tuchel himself would want a 38 year old striker who doesn’t work or run for the team. Someone who brings the kind of circus he does. Someone who you’re pretty much forced to play every match despite how poor he is because otherwise he’ll pout and cause friction.
-
None of these players other than Gnabry would excite me personally. None of the others are near the level of Raphinha or Dembele at this moment. Bowen is very promising but as usual dealing with WH would be impossible. We need attackers that are CLEAR upgrades on what we had last season, not risks or young talents. The likes of Antony, Diaby, Olise etc I can easily see flopping just like Ziyech or Werner.
-
Raphinha and Dembele likely off the table, the player we were thinking about hijacking at the last minute Richarlison off the table (thank God) no links to Gnabry really, no standout striker targets in place of any of these wide players. Could it be…….Neymar time? 😰😰😰 We’re nearly out of options here, ffs.

Don’t think Broja goes unless we get an offer so stupid we can’t say no to like £40m or more. For a player that is still unproven I don’t think the club would turn that down. My guess is that we keep him and he plays a significant role for us this season. With Lukaku gone there will be plenty of minutes available to rotate with Kai.
-
Didn’t mention him because he’s obviously starting if fit. Laporte and Stones rotate depending on form. Which is why it makes no sense for de Ligt to want to go there.
-
You’d hope de Ligt would prefer to walk right into our first XI as a key player than to go to City and rotate with Laporte and Stones. City would be a stupid move for him. United are the ones we have to worry about I think. Luckily, it seems they’re currently after that dwarf from Ajax.
-
I look forward to Barca having another catastrophic financial situation a couple of years from now after they splurge all of this money. Hope we’re right there ready to pounce on Pedri and Gavi when these cunts are desperate to offload them to offset their debts. 🤣
-
Pursuing 2 wingers suggest that we’re switching to a back 4 with two wide players, Mount in a midfield 3, and Havertz up top. But then conversely, why the fuck would we be after Aké for something ridiculous like £40m if we’re switching to a back 4? What happens to Silva if we switch formations?
-
Fabrizio is indeed a bit over the top and sensationalist. He’s very hit or miss. But when Ornstein and Matt Law simultaneously reported it you can pretty much treat it as fact. This wasn’t click bait.
-
If this was some tier 5 nobodies maybe. This was the best of the best, most reliable English journalists reporting that we’ve bid and that personal terms wouldn’t likely be an issue. And that he would be keen on the move.
-
The embarrassing part isn’t missing out on a player to Barca. That can happen to anyone. The embarrassing thing is bidding a massive amount for a player without having acknowledgment from said player that he’s keen. We better hope Dembele comes now or our attack is going to look stale once again. As for De Jong, that’s a nonsensical link. Unless J5 is the player included for de Ligt. Another rumor that will get people excited and then when he goes elsewhere it’ll depress them. Just ignore it.
-
Wonder if the official Chelsea Twitter admin is just trolling by continuously posting random pics that nobody cares about. Anyways, seems like a bidding war is really brewing for Broja. There are about 4 PL clubs that seem super keen on him. I really don’t see why we’re even entertaining the thought. Are we going to have literally ZERO option of a traditional striker in our squad this season? Even if we feel like he’s not ready for Chelsea the most we should be agreeing to is a loan. Send him on loan to Lamps at Everton now that there’s a gaping hole left by Richarlison. Somewhere you know he’ll play and develop.
-
He will if they pay him 250k a week. And I think he’d be fine with a year in the Europa League if he’s reunited with his former manager and some of his former teammates. This is why it’s imperative that if de Ligt is our first choice CB target we have to get it done quickly. Before United or even City turn their full attention away from their own primary targets to de Ligt.

I wake up every morning these days hoping/expecting to see us confirm a deal. Instead I wake up every morning and see one of our rivals confirming a deal. Spuds and City have now each signed 4 players before we’ve signed a single one. Concern levels rising rapidly. The one player we’ve actually bid on doesn’t even want to come here and is embarrassingly keeping us waiting in the desperate hope that Barca buy him.
