I pray that we don’t do something silly like appointing another former player. JT would probably jump at the chance if offered but that would be the biggest mistake we could possibly make. We’ll finish midtable if we get this appointment wrong.
-
I also doubt Potter abandons his squad now that we’re into the season and they’ve started extremely well. Think it’s almost certainly going to be Poch. Experience at big clubs, experience with the 3 at the back system, a personality that wouldn’t grate or agitate these spoilt divas we clearly have in the dressing room.

Holy fucking shit. I thought with 100% certainty that Boehly would give him every possible chance to turn the ship around. That he would only act if we were in danger towards the midway point of the season or something. I myself was admittedly turning on him but never thought it would happen this quickly. We’ve just given him a record transfer window and his hand picked striker just arrived days ago specifically to play for him. I actually feel terrible for TT since the plan as recently as a few weeks ago was for him to be here for years. Boehly couldn’t help enough praise on him as he guided the club through the chaos of last year. I just hope we appoint a coach who is obsessively good at coaching attacking football as Pep, Klopp, and even Arteta is now. We have the talent.

I know. But the players turning on the manager at the very start of a season just makes no sense. It usually happens after months of poor results. Why would they down tools when things have barely started to get going? I think this is all down to training and tactics. Whatever he’s doing with them during the week must be going stale or something.
-
This isn’t a case where we were doing well, then there was a turning point where everything went wrong, and now the players turned on the manager. That’s what makes this so confusing. I don’t really get the vibe that the players have turned on him at all. It just looks like whatever he’s doing in training isn’t working AT ALL for whatever reason.

I’ve seen a lot of Chelsea fans around the net suggesting Potter to replace Tuchel if he gets sacked. Why the hell would Potter leave Brighton during the season? They’re flying, above us in the table, and he’s built a club from the ground up. He’s probably backing himself to replace Pep or Klopp when they eventually move on. If Tuchel goes we’re going to have to get someone who is currently out of work. Most likely be Poch. But what about Bielsa? Plays extremely attractive football and with access to a MUCH more talented squad than he’s ever had at Leeds I wonder what he could do. With the exception of Jorginho, we have a squad that’s full of athletes who can play the ultra aggressive pressing game. I think he’s worth consideration.
-
All these other big teams with hugely expensive squads playing beautiful, free flowing attacking football. We meanwhile play like fucking West Brom under Big Sam. With a near billion pound squad.
-
Boehly has probably been totally caught out by this as well. He has backed Tuchel like a manager who he expects to be our Klopp or Guardiola who will be here as long as he wishes to. And being new to football, he probably knows ZERO about other managers around Europe. So if it comes to the worst case scenario and Tuchel has to go we better pray Todd has expert advisors on a replacement. Otherwise we’ll make another silly appointment like having John Terry in as interim. And the last thing this squad needs is a total rookie. If Tuchel is sacked we need a manager with a ironclad system and progressive way of playing. Someone with a clear idea who can implement that style quickly.

Doesn’t get talked about by the press at all but he has been a bigger flop than Lukaku, Werner, or anyone else we’ve bought recently. He’s shockingly poor and is weak as fuck physically. He’s got one elite skill when he’s in form and that’s his crossing. Other than that he’s useless and when he’s in poor form (like he has been for over a year now) those crosses are aimless and gifts to the opposition. Was clear as day that he should’ve been sold this summer. He wanted it, we wanted it. Now we’re stuck with him. Again.
-
If we were losing and getting poor results whilst scoring goals and just getting unlucky that’s one thing. But we’ve been playing shockingly terrible football every single game other than the Spuds match. We were poor against Everton, poor against West Ham, embarrassing against Leeds, embarrassing against Southampton, extremely lucky against Leicester who didn’t take any of the numerous easy chances they had, and now embarrassing again against a Croatian side whose whole team probably cost less than one or two of our starters. If we don’t beat Fulham, Tuchel has to go. If we don’t get out of this CL group he’s got to go.
-
We’ve now played 7 matches this season and have been ABYSMAL in all but 1. And that one where we played very well in we still only took a point. Despite spending a record amount of money in a single window. That’s sackable form if Roman were still in charge. We don’t even look like scoring, ffs. Or even creating a clear cut chance! Fulham will run rings around us at the weekend and Mitrovic may score a hat trick.
-
Same Ziyech as last season, then. One on one and can’t beat anyone.
-
Exactly like the first half, Zagreb look more dangerous on their one attacking chance after having 5% of the ball than we do when we have all of it. Embarrassing as hell.
-
We have one of the most expensive and talented squads in all of Europe. A squad that any coach would salivate at having. And yet we play as if we’re Everton who have next to no talent. What on earth are we doing in training? How does a side containing Auba, Sterling, Havertz, James & Chilwell on each flank etc look this poor? I’m well and truly starting to really sour on Tuchel as our coach. He’s a fantastic man off the pitch but the level he has this ridiculously talented and expensive squad playing at is completely unacceptable.
-
Get Zakaria on for the love of god. This midfield pairing is getting embarrassed. LOOK AT THAT! You could drive a fucking bus through there!
-
GET MOUNT OFF FOR FUCKS SAKE
-
I mean look at that. Mount let’s a big CB just burst past him!
-
The goal has totally thrown our game off. Can’t get Auba a touch now after he was so involved early. We are so mentally frail and look clueless.
-
Our midfield is nowhere to be seen when we’re without the ball. Leaves our CB’s totally exposed. Mount is getting shredded with ease and Kova still isn’t fully fit. Mistake by Tuchel with this selection.
-
We were making them look like a Championship side up until that point and then Koulibaly takes a needless gamble and fucks us over.
-
Of course. They’ve had like 5% possession and score on their first counter. What on earth is wrong with this team? Two CB’s on one striker and he gets through and scores. Fucking hell…
-
Auba looking dangerous so far!
-
What a strange looking stadium this is.
-
Whatever the XI or formation, our season needs to really start to get on track here. Can’t afford to start off on the wrong foot in this group which will likely be trickier than many predict. Clubs like Zagreb and Salzburg that would normally fear a massive, super rich club like Chelsea will have been studying our games so far and realizing that they can get stuck into us. Not expecting any easy ones in this group so the likes of Havertz & Mount in particular need to step the hell up.

Good question. Don’t know if Fofana has played on the left side before but I would’ve initially guessed KK in the center, Azpi right, Fofana left. But I have no idea what it will actually be.
