Guess we truly are back to our hoarding of young talents phase. We went through that period where a bunch were sold or left and now this last few months we’re going crazy again.

Let’s be real here, there is no quick fix option in January that’s going to suddenly turn our miserable season around. Not Leāo, not Vlahovic, not Felix. If we are going to reverse the rot it’s almost certain to come down to all of our injured players returning and hitting top form. Any business we do next month should be with the future in mind rather than short term thinking. If that means overpaying then so be it because these players will likely be off the table when we don’t have CL football next season. Sadly, the crown jewel target Gvardiol is surely off the table after the World Cup he just had and the position we find ourselves in. Much like Haaland we’ll probably be cursed to watch him kill it at City for the next decade.

Team USA looking like the Chelsea of 2022. Dominate the ball, keep it cycling well, get forwards into dangerous positions, fail to convert the ball dominance into goals, and then concede easy goals when the opponent has caused almost no danger. Two basically identical goals conceded immediately after USA was dominating and playing well. The Dutch didn’t really have to do anything other than coast and not concede.

I’ll check in for our UCL matches but that’s it. Done watching us in the PL this season. These jokers don’t deserve my attention. Hoping for us to get lucky breaks with the UCL draw and hope we catch fire in that competition. Only way to salvage something this year. See you guys.

I see Newcastle are flying again and up 4-0. They’ll slaughter us and so will Arse. Imagine if Newcastle finish above us this season. Real possibility.

Just think about it, ALL of Havertz, Mount, Sterling, Auba, Gallagher are woefully subpar this season. Pulisic doesn’t play enough to build form. Broja likewise. We have NO reliable, standout attacker at all. If one or two were poor but the others we performing that’s normal. But fucking all of them are stinking it up simultaneously.

Everyone having a go at Potter and he rightly deserves some blame. Playing players out of position, etc. But he can’t account for defenders making schoolboy errors or multiple attackers missing absolute sitters when they’re free inside the box. These guys are making hundreds of thousands of pounds a week and are shocking. I would put these shocking performances 75% on the players and 25% on the manager. This shit doesn’t seem to happen to any other top side in the league but us where not one, not two, but ALL of our expensive attacking players go off the boil at the same time.

Humiliation complete. They score every little chance they get, we fail with every one we get. Back to negative goal difference this far into the season. Only thing we have left is to hope for a lucky CL run when Reece gets back. PL season is just about over.

Bruno G is under contract at Newcastle for another several years. There’s absolutely zero chance Newcastle would even pick up the phone if we (or anyone else in the PL) came calling. Not like they need money since they have unlimited cash now. They probably see themselves as a club who will be on the same level as the Big 6 within the next 2-3 years so selling their best player now undermines that effort. Like most other Brazilians who attract attention at smaller clubs, he’ll likely end up at Barca or RM in a year or two.

This just shows you the sort of form Auba is in. Over the last 10 years there are very, very few #9’s you’d fancy more in 1v1 situations. His repertoire of finishes is big so he can score so many different types of goals. But he’s off the boil right now. Only positive I guess is that his movement is repeatedly getting him into these positions. But goddamn, we should be lying back with our feet up right now.
