  1. Watching all these clubs that we were miles better than just last season completely leave us in the dust is so embarrassing. Ten Hag in particular having a transformative effect on that group of jokers who last season were called the worst side in their clubs’ history puts us to shame. And all these media outlets on Twitter pointing out week after week that “such and such individual player has now scored more goals than Chelsea as an entire team” is humiliating. Every other big club is currently flying whilst we’re in the gutter with no signs that change is imminent. Liverpool were right there in the mud with us just a couple of weeks ago but even they have suddenly switched back on and have something to chase.
  2. At this point we don’t want to finish in the Europa Conference places, whatever those are. I don’t even know. A “clean” season next time where we can focus solely on the PL would be beneficial. Having to travel to random countries to play a bunch of clubs nobody has ever heard of and risk injuries sounds miserable. Only way we get Europa League proper from here is if we sack Potter soon and a top coach instantly turns us around.
  3. We aren’t comparing his situation with Arteta. The problem is that THE OWNERS are judging him like Arteta. If were up to most of us he’d be gone. But they think we should just flounder at rock bottom like this for who knows how long in hopes that Potter “pulls an Arteta.” At this point it feels like they don’t want to deal with the humiliation of sacking 2 managers in the same season. They don’t want to face the fact that the man they hand picked as the shepherd of the “New Chelsea” is out of his depth.
  4. There have been reports in recent weeks that the ownership is looking at Arteta’s situation as the blueprint with Potter. And it’s true that Arteta struggled massively early on and had numerous super rough patches, including points where many Arse fans called for his head. They truly feel that these are simply growing pains which are normal. The big difference with Arteta was that the DNA and identity he wanted to install was clear from day 1. He wanted to replicate Pep’s Man City in North London. The ideas were clear from the jump even when the results didn’t come right away. With Potter there is zero discernible style or idea evident in our play after months in charge. We look like a big group of strangers making it up as matches go along. I truly do not understand what giving him more time is going to change.
  5. If there were signs you could point to that ___ is getting better game after game or we were seeing recognizable patterns of play and passing moves that made it clear that Potter’s ideas were being imprinted on the squad I could understand the reluctance to sack him. But we aren’t showing improvement at all week after week. And he doesn’t seem to get angry, annoyed, demonstrative. Nothing. Just a constant blank expression on the sideline and total nonsense cliché’s like “we did well but we’re unlucky and need to get better” in every single presser. You look at Pep, Klopp, Arteta, Ten Hag etc and they are maniacal in their ideas and obsessed. They often scream at their teams from the touchline and direct them if they’re doing something wrong. They get every player on the pitch knowing precisely what their job is. This is what we need.
  6. How can he possibly stay after that? We looked totally aimless and without any ideas against the rock bottom side who have no actual coach. A team with an interim manager looked more assured in what they were doing than the most expensively assembled squad ever. We need a proper big club manager who can drill into these players some clear ideas and get them to buy in.
  7. More embarrassing finishing from professional footballers on hundreds of thousands of pounds per week. Just like a few days ago.
  8. Intent and desire much better but still not testing the CB’s or keeper at all whatsoever.
  9. And to think I was actually looking forward to this one after promising signs against Dortmund. I figured this was a good match to score a few goals and completely dominate a side who have looked destined for the drop. We have one of the most loaded and talented squads in the world but play like a side who just formed last night and hav never seen one another before.
  10. EVERY. SINGLE. 50/50 BALL is going to Southampton. That’s all about desire and work rate. Again, the worst side in the league who have been a defensive shambles is comfortably outplaying us. And you knew they’d score the second Azpi gave away that idiotic foul. Potter HAS TO GO!
  11. Just think about what we’re watching here. The worst side in the league comfortably stroking it around like a training session and easily defending us when we have the ball. They look like they’re a comfortable midtable side who are nonchalantly playing as if they’re safe with nothing to play for.
  12. Mount looks completely and totally out of it AGAIN. Like he’s slowly walking through the motions as if he can’t be bothered. Doesn’t get in the ball, is sloppy when it does come to him on rare occasions. Wtf is wrong with him? He offers nothing in this form. And he’s been like this all season.
  13. Can’t even get or keep the ball AT HOME against the bottom side in the league…
  14. Perfectly legal challenge from Kk there….fuck off, ref
  15. Only concern about this attack Potter has chosen is that there isn’t a ton of width. Which means if Southampton defend like most struggling teams do traditionally (keep things very narrow and clog up the width of the goal) we could be in for a super frustrating match.
  16. Hopefully we actually assert ourselves from the kickoff here and force an early goal. Don’t let a desperate team in a relegation fight gain confidence by being defensively solid.
  17. Imagine the curse of the Chelsea striker hitting someone we spend £150m on…. 😬😬😬
  18. Reece apparently just going to be rested. Which is a bold move considering it’s an absolute must win game.
  19. Wonder what the likes of GNev and the media members who have slaughtered other PL clubs for their ownership say if his beloved “pure, family club” Man United get taken over by a repressive, human rights abusing Arab state. My guess is that they’ll be a whole lot more quiet since for some reason the British media clowns on American owners more.
  20. I wonder what they denied him for?
  21. For the life of me, I don’t understand these new Neymar links at all whatsoever. Feels like a totally fabricated story that came simply as a result of Boehly being seen with the PSG president. What possible use would we have for 30+ year old Neymar when we just bought a bunch of wide attacking players over the last 2 windows? He’s the antithesis of the profile we’ve been targeting. Even if he terminated his contract I’m not sure we’d be interested in a free due to his obscene wages.
  22. Just a reminder once again that he was so unbelievably shit last year that he couldn’t get many minutes in the worst performing United side in memory. He looked like a terrible shadow of the player he was previously. United fans wanted him sold. His own supporters were laughing and joking when PSG were linked with him and none of them could understand why on Earth any other big club would want him. They were saying they’d drive him to Paris themselves. Now just a year later he’s arguably the most unplayable dude in Europe and is dragging United into a title race. Shows you what a top class coach who can restore belief and confidence can do.
  23. Yep. At the very least Auba has always been a lethal penalty box finisher. Him simply being in and around the box will result in him getting chances with the new boys we have in the team now. For example, if that golden chance yesterday where KK was literally standing totally free on the Dortmund penalty spot had fallen to Auba he’s scoring that. Or when Kai was 1v1 in the box and couldn’t do anything with it. Or when James and Chilly are putting in solid deliveries and nobody is finishing them. We have to try it.
  24. Fantastic footballer who opponents are genuinely concerned about whenever he gets on the ball. Finishing isn’t where it needs to be but everything else is great. We NEED to keep him.
