All the reporters are saying we won’t get near £75m. At that price I’d sell.
-
Yep. In a team with a clear attacking identity Havertz can become lethal and a huge weapon. We’re idiots if we sell him within the league.
-
We’re just giving every other big 6 team a little gift like we’re a charity. City are getting Kova, United get Mount, Arse get Havertz, and now Spuds want Gallagher? I mean, I’m okay with all of those but Kai. I’m just trying to imagine any of these clubs selling us prime player if they want to come to Chelsea. Like, if Martinelli suddenly decided he wanted to go or Saliba did would Arse sell to us? Not a chance in hell. Don’t think United or Spuds would either. City are the only ones who would because they can easily replace anyone.
-
With no signs of imminent incomings it really does feel like we’re a dead club that’s being picked apart by vultures. When the hell are we going to see what Poch’s ideas are?
-
I’m fine selling Kai abroad but absolutely no way should we sell him to Arse where he can haunt us for 5 years. In a well oiled attacking unit like Arse has he can realize his immense talent. Unforgivable if we are to this. Especially with the underwhelming names we’re linked with in terms of forwards. I’d rather keep Havertz than sign Vlahovic or this kid from Villareal.
-
The ONLY way we can go into next season with Kepa as our #1 again is if we dramatically fix our defensive midfield. Or play with a 3 rather than a 2. Make the team in front of him so defensively solid that he doesn’t have to face many of those long shots that go in off the tips his outstretched arms.
-
Looks like yet another super talented young striker. But that’s exactly what we just recently bought with Fofana. Buying another young kid makes little sense to me. It’s like the club are planning for 2028 or something instead of 2024.

Really stupid to see a bunch of reputable journalists coming out and saying that Mbappe to Chelsea isn’t going to happen as if it was ever even a 1% possibility. Like, no shit! Cheers, Captain Obvious! Real Madrid is surely the only club he’d consider. But I think they’re creating a headache for themselves by signing him when Vini Jr is already one of the top 3 LW in the world. Not sure how you have Mbappe and Vini who both play that position in the same team. Mbappe hates playing through the middle and it really limits his effectiveness. Even some of the other possible clubs that can afford him have super key players on the left who you would annoy or make unhappy if you signed Mbappe.. City have Grealish, United have Rashford, and Liverpool play both Diaz and often Darwin there. Doubt Bayern could afford him and Barca are already living on the very edge of FFP trouble.

We better be telling Brighton that a full sale of Colwill is completely out of the question. Them bidding these insulting amounts and us (hopefully) rejecting them out of hand could end up souring the apparently good relationship between the clubs. In a world where someone with a similar profile as Levi (left footed, silky smooth, ball playing CB who is barely 20 years old) like Gvardiol is being talked about as the most expensive defender ever if he is sold this summer then £40m is a joke. He is someone who would cost us £85m if he was a Brighton player and we were going in for him. If we have absolutely no other choice in the Caicedo negotiations then he can go on loan there again but ONLY if he signs a new 5 year contract first.
-
Mbappe seems like the kind of ego that won’t even consider anyone else but Madrid so this should be a pretty boring “saga.” How they’re going to afford Bellingham for £100m, Mbappe for £150m or more, and also a new striker with the stricter La Liga rules I have no idea.
-
I just find it so unbelievable that Arse of all clubs who have ridiculed and looked down on other clubs spending mega money for decades will suddenly spend £100m on Rice and also spend £70m or more on Caicedo. Not to mention that they’re very similar players and would be an awkward pairing. Plus they still have Partey. It would be completely out of character for the club. They have other key needs as well. They going to spend like we did last summer?
-
So in the same morning we’ve got one report saying “don’t be surprised if Kepa remains Chelsea’s starting keeper” and another that says Lukaku may be welcomed back. Can you even imagine if we line up on match day 1 with Lukaku (a striker who has failed here TWICE and has stated numerous time he doesn’t want to come back) lumbering around the pitch and T-Rex arms Kepa in goal? After all the hype and reporting that a new #9 and a new #1 being the top priorities this summer, if we don’t get either I will have ZERO hope whatsoever of us challenging for the top 4.
-
We should be using this fancy new scouting and football director system we have in place to find a new keeper that’s the next big thing rather than being forced to spend silly money on Onana. Surely there are some gems out there that we can get for €20-30m rather than the £50m or more Inter want or even more that Milan want for Maingan.
-
We were right on the verge of signing Ugarte (probably only hours away) and then after missing out on him we haven’t heard a peep about us moving on to the next target. Why haven’t we instantly advanced things with Caicedo, Lavia, or whoever else? We sitting back and waiting until Liverpool, Arse, and United snatch everyone up? Fabrizio tweeted last night that Liverpool are quickly moving on to sign 2 more quality midfielders having already sealed Mac Allister. They’ll be after some of the same targets we are. So what are we doing?
-
The Leeds keeper was outstanding in the ‘21/‘22 season but apparently was pretty poor this past one. Not sure how I’d feel about targeting him. Still very young so maybe can’t judge him accurately yet.
-
Spuds apparently going to sign Raya so that’s 1 keeper we’ve been linked to likely off the table. Tbh, I’m kinda glad because I don’t want another small keeper.
-
In theory, sending Casadei on loan to Brighton as part of a deal for Caicedo would be brilliant. They’re perhaps the best place in the PL for a young talent to develop. But that’s only if he actually plays meaningful and consistent minutes which would be a big question mark. Brighton are now in a position where they’re aiming way higher than they ever have in the past. They’re no longer thinking merely about PL survival but instead pushing for European football. Several of our highly rated youth players recently have gone on loan to places we thought would be brilliant for them and then they just didn’t really play. I’m not sure Brighton will want to replace hugely experienced midfielders like Mac Allister and Caicedo with a kid that’s still quite raw.
-
Best bet is to make him available for a dirt cheap price. If Inter decide they don’t want him any longer then someone will take a punt for £25-30m or something.
-
Yeah, my bad. Still, Liverpool were insane that season. Anyone hoping to finish above City will have to be a team capable of wining all huge numbers of games in a row and barely slip up at all.
-
The only real hope City’s domestic rivals have is that the eventual replacements for De Bruyne, Gündogan, Bernardo, Mahrez generation don’t work out as well. And more importantly that Pep gets burned out and retires. The only team that has bettered them in recent years had to be just about perfect. And they still barely squeaked it. All it takes in 1 bad month over a 38 game season and you see what happened with Arse this year. That’s how absurd their squad is.
-
I just can’t see who can top them domestically any time soon. They’ve just dominated and won the treble but will only get even stronger by adding to their squad. As long as Pep is there they’ll be strong favorites.
-
Unlike PSG I think it was inevitable that City would eventually win the UCL. Just annoying that they also win the treble in the same year. I had always assumed it would come in a year where they “gave up” on the PL and focused 100% on Europe. But their absurd depth makes it so that they can have an unbelievable XI on the pitch at all times with no drop off.
-
That’s that, then. 😔
-
Desperately want Inter to win. One, so we don’t have to hear everyone slobbering over them about the treble for years and two, so we as Chelsea fans can always laugh at them for not having the one major trophy that we have.
-
Appears Havertz to Madrid isn’t the sure thing it was assumed the other day. If he doesn’t go to Madrid or some other non-PL club we should not even entertain selling him to a rival. I’m perfectly fine keeping hold of him.
