As frustrating as the finishing has been, this is now 2 straight halves where the football we’ve played is night and day compared to last season. We looks like a properly coached attacking unit. And this is just the start under Poch. If we sharpen up in the box and cut out the silly defensive errors on set pieces we’ll be a serious team.
-
Yep, Nkunku would feast in a chaotic, fast paced match like this where the passes are zipping around. Absolutely horrendous luck we’ve had.
-
Jackson has done EVERYTHING well except finish. Just like Sterling. Two players that are dominating their individual battles but neither can finish so far.
-
Another ACL or MCL? 😔😔😔
-
We CANNOT let this game swing. We’ve been totally dominant and are carving through them repeatedly.
-
Another bad looking knee injury. Couldn’t even put weight on it.
-
Sterling looks like fucking Vini Jr today and nobody can finish!
-
MY GOODNESS! We should have 5 goals by now!!!
-
Have to have your striker taking pens. Let him see the ball go in.
-
Oh come on, Enzo.
-
Sterling has been DOMINATING here. His best game for us. Everything but the finish from him but in open play he’s been the City version of Sterling.
-
ANY composure in front of goal and we’d have 2-3 more right now.
-
CARNEY!!! He’s been a beast so far!
-
We look nice going forward. Nice and crisp. Defensively is the issue which I fully put down to this system.
-
Sterling bursting through them at will but the final ball is shite.
-
Gallagher has been awful in both first halves.
-
Embarrassing from Gallagher TWICE there. Awful letting it go out for a corner and then AWFUL marking. Embarrassing. Standing basically alone inches from the goal mouth.
-
Like I said above, it’s gotta be down to comfort in this system. Sterling is more comfortable playing as a forward and Carney centrally than Mudryk. At least I hope.
-
I’m hoping that Mudryk is just the unfortunate victim of this temporary system we’re using currently and that when we switch to 4-3-3 he comes in for Carney.
-
Yeah, another goal scorer next week NEEDS to be brought in. Whether it’s a forward or a wide attacker. It’s pretty insane that we’ve shored up every other part of our squad but have a couple of unproven 21 year old strikers carrying the scoring burden for a whole season. One of which hasn’t played in like a year.
-
This will be a tough away match. Despite losing Rice they have a pretty strong XI who can compete with mostly anyone if they’re up for it and in form. Can’t afford to start off passively and soft like we did so many times last season. With Antonio, Bowen, and Benrahma they’ll want to press high and run at us. We better be ready for that or they can damage us.
-
Never expected Lavia to take part since he probably only had 1 training session if any. But I did think Caicedo would be thrown straight in. Not mad about the XI as long as we look as good as we did second half last weekend. But if they target Gallagher like Liverpool did and get their home crowd into it we could be in trouble.
-
Wonder what the deal is with Mudryk? What isn’t he doing in training I wonder? This should be the time when he starts to explode and realize his potential.
-
Early leaked team news doesn’t sound exciting. No Caicedo or Mudryk starting. Sounds like it may be the same team as Liverpool but with Gusto instead of Reece.
-
Everton are woeful. Hopefully this is finally the season they get flushed down.
