Patrick Van Aanholt on loan at Coventry
EskWeston replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Very true, Mancienne's experience last season at Wolves will be very different to this seasons. He will probably feel he performed better last year, but he will learn a lot more this season. -

lol The loan is currently only till January, could be extended till the end of the season as he is playing regulary or the club may feel a move to another club will be better for him. Yes i agree, playing regular league football is vital for their development. -
Patrick Van Aanholt on loan at Coventry

He is doing very well by all accounts, playing every game except when he was injured for a short period. All the reports i have seen on him so far have been very positive indeed. -
We will most definately make signings this January, what sort of signings they will be will be very interesting.
-
I agree, i can't see how it can be upheld to be honest, but you never know....
-
Of course it was. Will be interesting to see what DOES happen in January though. I would assume they would be looking at it with a view that worst case scenario the transfer ban is upheld. Our squad is very strong though and it would be hard to see where we can bring people in, obviously someone like Aguero would be great but with Nico and Drogs on excellent form at the moment it is hard it happeneing. Best news of this is that Kakuta can play again.....

In light of numerous media enquiries, Chelsea can confirm that theCourt of Arbitration for Sport has informed us that it has agreed to astay of the two-window transfer ban and the playing ban on Gael Kakutaimposed by Fifa's Dispute Resolution Chamber until the appeal has beenheard and completed. There will be no further comment. Source: Chelsea FC

Lol, what a way to introduce yourelf to the Chelsea fans...... I don't think anyone wants to see Stamford Bridge branded, but it looks like it is going to happen.

At his age it will be very very difficult for him to break that record now! It isn't impossible but not very likely. He will be missing a chucnk of games this season due to the ACN which will hamper this seasons goal tally.
-
Miroslav is having a fine season at Twente is very much impressing there. His problem is that he is most definately a winger (although i have seen him play some excellent games behind the forward) and is playing the whole season as a winger. We on the other hand are playing a midfield diamond, when he comes back is there going to be a position for him to force his way into? I certainly hope so because he is a big talent.

Another fantastic performance, Bolton were right in our face and were determined o get physical with us. The sending off helped but once again we are creating so many damn chances. We are looking very good at the moment. The last goal was seriously something special. He didn't get on the scoresheet but Anelka is becomming a massively important player for us, at the best level he has ever been in my opinion.
-
Delighted to see Bruma got his debut. Bruma is a proper talent and one hell of a prospect. Playing well above his age contantly will only improve him. Have to give Carlo credit, he is more than willing to include our youngsters. Borini, Hutchinson and Bruma all getting games with the first team already this season..
-
Agree the shed has definately improved. Mostly to do with i think moving the away fans to there!! Also the MH lost out a little with the away fans being moved, banter with the away mob always helps with the atmosphere....
-
Excellent for Sturridge to get a start, dissapointed to see him come off so early and especially for Drogba...
-
It is important for us to win this game, we need to get some momentum going after the Villa loss and we want to get 100% in the Championsl league and take us 1 big towards qualification. I want to see Joe and Zhirkov seeing a bit more action now, they won't get match fit unless they play. And their abilities could be just what we need. Barring the set piece errors we didn't do much wrong against Villa and played some great football. More of the same tonight and more clinical finishing should be all we need to take home the 3 poitns.
-
Thats a blow! Especially as a lot of the time Ivanovic has not looked as comfortable at right back...... Maybe bring Ferreira back in then?
-
Very good performance. It is always very very hard to play one of the other big boys, but we worked hard and scored 2 good goals and kept them at bay very well indeed. Hopefully we will see the negativity dissapear for a while at least because we are looking very good this season. Always a joy to get one over the vermin.

UNOFFICIAL: Simon Greenberg quits Chelsea
EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Considering our communications and media relations are absolute shit i have no problem with the Spurs fan Greenberg leaving..... -
Sam Hutchinson got a call-up to England Under 21
EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
5 players in the England U21's squad and 3 of them have been with us since a young age. Any of these media hacks who continue to write s**t about our academy can go f**k themselves because this shows the progress we are making here at Chelsea with our academy -
You are absolutely right. It is more than likely that Borini will be on loan next season, which is the right thing for him to do at his age, regular competitive football. Franco will hopefully be back and showing what he can do, this loan is a big test for him.
-
He's not exactly prolific, it's just his goals are more memorable. My point is, rather than having a 30+ utility player who is very unlikely to get starts we should be using that squad place for someone young. If your talking goals comming off the bench then what about Stoch, Borini ect..??? We need to trust our youth. We have seen in one game alone (QPR) how we can trust our youth just as much as we can any squad player. I know he has gone now, but Ben Haim or Hutchinson? Pizarro or Borini??

OFFICIAL: Gourlay is new chief executive
EskWeston replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Name me 1 thing that is wrong with our youth academy? Gourlay is in charge of the business side of the club, most people will not know what it is he is actually doing. -
At the end of the day there is one way and one way only of telling if these lads are good enough, and that is to play them! Fabio Borini, he did very well on his debut so he has a very good chance of breaking through. Sam Hutchinson, fantastic game against QPR another with a very good shot. Michael Mancienne, hasn't looked out of place when he played. Scott Sinclair, has done OK, a little more to prove i feel. Miroslav Stoch, had a couple of very good appearances and would do a job for us. Players like Di Santo, Matic and Sturridge are different because they are brought in as first team squad members, they are expected already to do a job for the first team when needed. What we MUST remember with these young lads is that they don't HAVE to be world class. We have a squad! And in my opinion i would rather have someone like Jack Cork who is young enthusiastic and full of energy than a player like Belletti in our squad. We can produce for ourselves squad players as well as main stars. Right now we finally have a really really good group of youngsters who we can think about bringing through, at the moment a lot are on loan so players like Borini are getting a chance ahead of them, but their time will come. Bertrand, Cork, Van Aanholt, Stoch ect.. all have every chance of being part of our squad at some point.

At the end of the day it was a poor poor game. And then as we were beginning to get something going we lose Cech to a red card! Just one of those games and hopefully it doesn't happen again, big game at the weekend to build up for now...
