  1. That was my assumption aswell when he came, but so far he has been slotting in on the left side of the diamond, i am sure he COULD play the defensive role in a similar way to Mikel, but it not where he is natural seemingly..
  2. This match was very enjoyable for so many reasons. Firstly to get the excellent result whilst missing Bosingwa, Carvalho, Lampard, Ballack, Deco & Drogba is such good news for us. Secondly the performance was top class, the passing was crisp and the movement was brilliant, we have seen this more an more this season, Carlo is really getting the best out of us. Essien was just a beast, when you see him put in performances like that it just reaffirms the belief that he is without doubt one of the best midfielders in the world. And the iceing on the cake was 3 youngsters comming off the bench. Kakuta has finally shown what he can do for the first team, pure class. Matic came in and looked very solid, his style very similar to Ballack - he is improving all the time. And Borini came on again and did very well, his hold up play standing up to Premiership tests... Have to give Carlo 5 stars so far, not only are we playing some brilliant football but he is finally giving the young lads a chance - Hutchinson, Sturridge, Bruma, Borini, Matic and Kakuta all making first team appearances is brilliant to see, but they are also looking the part when comming on...
  3. Yes Stoch is definately more naturally a wide player. But without wide players in our current set up we will need to fit him in somewhere, and as he has before and can play the tip of the diamond role very effectively that would be his best shot at the moment. Kakuta has also been played almost exclusively as a wide player in his time at Chelsea....
  4. Yes Stoch is another very talented lad with bundles of ability which he is proving by being a big impact player in the dutch league. My only concern with Stoch is where he fits into our current set up, the tip of the diamond seems the obvious place, seen him perform very well there before... Kakuta though is without doubt the most talented player we have brought through our academy for a very long time. Watching him play in the FA Youth Cup the year we made it to the final was fantastic, him and Stoch were destroying defences. Hopefully one day they can do that for the first team.
  5. Am now on to the second in the "Twilight" series, "New Moon" . Hoping to get through all 4 before Christmas when i will no doubt get a nice bunch of new books to get through
  6. I would hope not, and this is what the club need to be looking out for. He comes across as a very calm and level headed lad and no arrogance at all despite his natural flair.
  7. Kakuta is a sensational talent!! Now he has been introduced to the big stage it is all about how we deal with him now, we have to do it the right way for him and keep him grounded..... Everyone at the club and anyone who follows the youths and reserves even vaguely closely will have known for years what a talent Gael is, the club will have known the impact bringing him on at the weekend would have been. I hope he gets more chances soon and continues to grow into a role in our first team.
  8. In our current set up i think Essien is best on the right side of the Diamond. He is pure box to box and there isn't anyone like him in world football.
  9. We would be very lucky to get Hiddink back in some form. But we have to be very careful because Ancelotti is doing a fantastic job here with us, we need to make sure he is happy with whatever is in place 100%. To have Hiddink overseeing all footballing aspects would be very good.
  10. Very good for him to get onto the bench immediately and it would be great to see him come and show what he can do....
  11. Depends if we plan to use Richards as purely a right back or not i guess.
  12. Mancienne is not a right back no matter how many times he has covered in that position.
  13. Aguero is an fantastic player and i would love to see him play for Chelsea but it does raise questions. Where does he play? Would we break up the Nico and Drogs partnership, is he willing to bide his time and take his chances? What would it mean for the likes of Di Santo, Sturridge and Borini?
  14. Ashley Cole will most certainly NOT be playing against Wolves. Yes he was in full training yesterday but it was solely non contact for him at the moment still. Injury isn't as bad as it sounds, hopefully fingers crossed could be back for the Arse game.
  15. Will be interesting to see if Kakuta is given any first team chances now that the ban is lifted...
  16. That book looks fantastic, i love Stephen King books but i will wait till it comes out on paperback, got plenty of other King novels to get through anyway. Am currently reading "Twilight" the first of the Twilight series...
  17. Of course it has worked. People wanted results from it too quickly. Our academy was very poor before Roman came along. His investments are now bearing fruit. We have a good bunch of players on the fringes of the first team and behind them we have the best group of young players we have produced for many many years......
  18. Yes Di Santo's hold up play and link up play is top class, and if he can start scoring goals he can be a top forward still. We have 3 young strikers who all have potential to be very very good - not a bad situation to be in i would say.
  19. Yes, however 23 years old still playing in the Swedish league... I know it is hard to judge without seeing a player play at all but i would question the potential of his ability.
  20. Yes, if he is that good then £3m is a small price to pay..... How old is he though?
  21. I think we would do well to sign a right back, and Richards would be a very good signing in my opinion. It all depends on the price..
  22. I can certainly see the benefits of signing some young talent for the midfield, and especially English talent given the new PL rules. However you do have to be very careful when spending a lot of money on young players, it is a big risk. We have Mikel, Essien and Matic who are long term players, plus youngsters of the likes of Cork, but i can certainly see Ancelotti looking at the midfield with 1 eye on the future.
  23. My thoughts exactly, although there are circumstances where he possibly holds a European passport from somewhere? Also it is allowed in certain circumstances. Would be good for us to pick up some South American talent. U15's though is a young age and unless he does have an EU passport then i wouldn't think our chances of bringing him over are very good.
  24. Borini will not struggle with the physical side. He is suprisingly strong and his hold up play is very good considering he isn't a particulary big unit, he works his backside off and doesn't mind getting physical at all. Sturridge is more of a flair player, infact they have worked very well together in the reserves.... Both have tons of potential, they just need the games to take it on to the next level.
  25. He hasn't played of late due to an illness, has nothing to do with is form... The games after international break are never good for us, hopefully we will be able to do enough to win this one and i am sure we will. But it will be a tough game i am sure.
