Easy answer........ no It's time for us to start putting ability over experience. Belletti has been a good player for us but it's time to build a new generation Chelsea squad, and Belletti along with a few others should be moved on to allow to do that building and not keep them in the squad for the wrong reasons i.e. Experience and for sentamental reasons..

Not for me, hinting at a lack of confidence from Ancelotti to use the youngsters once we hit a certain point. Kakuta showed what sort of impact he can have on the first team, and has had a decent season for the reserves too, a little up and down but thats what reserve football is like.

Lol, Fabio Borini for player of the year! Do you think it's too late to do a campaign to get him voted as winner??? -
Hopefully the lads will be buzzing from winning the league and will be determined to win the double and smash Pompey..
-
Will Zhirkov be used as a winger? I would count Malouda and Cole and wingers, probably Kalou will stay too... i would like to see us bring in a top class winger to push Malouda and Cole. Kakuta and Stoch will be there to try and break through but won't be relied upon much..... Tore is some way off first team appearances. Personally would not mind moving Kalou out and having Stoch regulary involved as he is quality but i doubt it would happen.
-
Yes, would be excellent there. Also on the wing because he is lethal running at players...
-
Exactly, Stoke and Wigan at home with the title at stake we should expect to get maximum points from, so should we win against Spurs then we are basically there. Hopefully we can get an even bigger favour and the Arse can drops points tonight...
-
If we win at Spurs the league is ours......

'Ancelotti: The New Special One'...What do you say mate?
EskWeston replied to mattLAMPARD's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Ancelotti is Ancelotti.... To win the double in his first season would be huge, and will rightly give him a lot of credit. Next for him is to build something to take us forward. -
Talksport is a load of s**te, deliberately make controversial comments so that they get people phoning in.... We always sell out at the bridge
-
He certainly better do! I think it is unbelievable he hasn't had more chances..... Chelsea's answer to Messi imo.

Malouda, Ivanovic or Ashley for me.... All had excellent seasons, shame for Ivan and Ash that they suffered injuries. -
I think my pre-match worries about the team selection were fairly justified as that was one tense affair!!! We really cannot play without a creative influence behind the main forward and we looked so much more attacking once Malouda and J.Cole were on. With 5 games remaining are we really saying these players cannot cope with that? Back to the team that has been working for Tottenham please or i may just not make it to the end of the season Gives us something to work on for the summer though for sure, a creative midfielder and a winger are priority...
-
Cant say i am overly happy with the team selection. Moving away from what has been working so well for us and back to what we was struggling with a little. Ballack for Deco i mentioned earlier but also playing Nico out wide has been discussed at length is something that wasn't working for us. Chelsea TV suggesting we have lined up with the biggest squad possible to combat Bolton's tactics, for me at home we should be letting the oppos worry about us not the other way around. Hope i am proved wrong....
-
We was trying to close the game out when Ballack came on though. A midfield of Mikel, Lampard and Ballack for me will make tonights game that much harder...... would be different if it was Ballack for Lamps, it isn't that Ballack is a bad player it is just to have the right balance in the team to make it tick!
-
An absolute MUST win game. Am slightly concerned by Ballack replacing Deco, it means our midfield will lose a lot of it's shape and we will be lacking a natural playmaker in the middle of the park. Hopefully there will be no nerves and we can go out and get the job done. If we win this and the Spurs game the league is ours
-
The funniest thing is that Arsenal are not even being mentioned, even though if both Arsenal and us win this week Arsenal will be second and 3 point behind us. If we win tonight and get a 4 point buffer that is a HUGE advantage because it allows us to lose, but if Arsenal win then that no longer becomes the case. Tonights game is crucial and if Arsenal do not beat Spurs then things look so good for us. I think we will do it

I do like the way the media always talk of Roman wanting to be involved with the way the club is running as a negative. Like it is the normal thing for owners to not get involved in any running of the club....
-
The trouble with being so versatile is that he isn't "top class" in any one position, like the saying goes: a jack of all trades, but master of none. At centre back Bruma has definately moved ahead of him in the pecking order unless they decide to loan out Bruma next season, in midfield he isn't as good as Matic and Cork is better for that position too. At right back is where he would have the best chance of getting a look in. Definately going to be interesting to see what is done with a whole host of young players this summer and next season.....

Carlo to promote youngsters
EskWeston replied to millzy_chelsea_fan's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
It is clear that Carlo DOES want to bring the youngsters through, and who could blame him as we have a top bunch. I think we will see more from the same batch as this year: Bruma, Kakuta, Borini, Van Aanholt, Hutchinson, Matic... also ones out on loan will probably get their chance especially Stoch and Cork and probably Mancienne as well. That is a lot of players there but they are all very talented. For me i think Kakuta and Stoch can offer a lot to the first team now and i hope they have plenty of involvement next season -
There is a chance for them, particularly Bruma who there has been a lot of talk about his involvement for some time now. Could be a case of too much too soon, but traveling with the Dutch squad to South Africa would be a great experience for them if given the chance.

6 years....... such a fantastic night for the fans. It will be a game that will always be remembered by our generation of fans no matter how much more success we have...
-
Can't do a lot this weekend unfortunately, my daughters 1st birthday but she has chicken pox so we are all house-bound over the weekend......
-
Tough one with Mancienne actually. Personally i think that Bruma is a far better prospect than Mancienne, and we have good options at centre back. We have no need to bring him into our midfield as we have better options there among the younger players (Cork and Matic being the main ones) I think it may be that we should cash in now rather than loan him out again. It is a shame because he is a good player but he hasn't been able to cut it properly in the back 4 with Wolves in the premier league......
-
No i agree, no youngster is going to be a first team regular next season, thats for sure. However Cork is a cracking player and it is criminal that he hasn't been used as much by Burnley even though he has been their best player, as their fans admit. Stoch is another player who could have a big impact next season, especially if we continue with the 4-3-3.
