Same as Torres, don't see where he would fit in,.
-
Jack Cork and Michael Mancienne are very much on the fringe, i would love to see Cork play as i think he is a terrific player. As i have said before the problem for Mancienne is that he has been dropped down the pecking order by Bruma and Hutchinson for the centre back role and behind hutchinson for the right back role (which i don't think would suit Mancienne anyway). And as far as playing midfield goes he has drawbacks in that he has not played there very much at all and he would be behind Nemaja Matic and Jack Cork for a midfield spot anyway. Not everyone can make it through the ranks and only the best of the best are going to cut it, Mancienne is a cracking player and i like him very much but there are now other youngsters for his positions who have probably surpassed him now. I would like to think there is role here for Jack Cork, but there isn't much really being said about him from the club so iam not convinced that it will happen for him....

The FA Cup final is going to be no walkover no matter who we are playing. Don't expact us to thrash Pompey by 5,6 or 7 goals. It is another massive game because to do the double will be incredible. No doubt the same starting 11 will be out which has worked so wel for the last few games and i am sure that we will go on and win the game.
-
I don't see where Torres fits into our team at the moment. Drogba is still going to be number 1, we need someone more versatile who can play wide aswell and maybe behind the striker too.
-
There are a lot of young players in the line to break into the first team, tough descisions may have to be made on some of them like Mancienne, Bertrand, Sinclair and Di Santo as there are is a lot of talent pushing behind them to get their chance. It is very hard to know who will get chances next season as it all depends of Carlo. I would imagine (Not including Sturridge and Matic who were brought in for the first team) that we will see Stoch, Kakuta, Bruma, Van Aanholt and Hutchinson used a fair few times and certainly more than this season. With some younger players getting a chance every now and then like has happened this season, most likely candidates are McEachran, Sala, Tore, C.Clifford and possibly Mitrovic.
-
If i was to pick just 1 academy player to progress to first team football next season it will be Stoch. On the back of a fantastic season at Twente he will go to the world cup and no doubt impress there also, i think there is definately a need for a winger like Stoch and i think giventhe oppertunity would ammount a very decent number of games through the season.

Different game, that was a 5 - 3 Tottenham win Reserves Friendly. -
Having won a championship medal of his own in Holland, Miroslav Stoch returned to Cobham this week to share his story. The 20-year-old Slovakian had a season to remember with FC Twente, where he helped secure the club's first ever Eredivisie title with 10 goals from 32 appearances under the leadership of Steve McClaren, the former England manager. 'I think it was a great season, when I went there I didn't expect it could be like that, that we could be champions but from the first day it was getting better and better and we kept on winning,' Stoch explained. 'I was so surprised and now we are champions, it was so great! 'My form was good until the winter break, then I had a little problem with my groin and didn't play so good, but in the end I was better and my play improved enough to score in the last two games.' The second of those was in the final day victory over NAC Breda which secured the championship for the Enschede side. 'To score was so nice, I felt so happy and of course to win was unbelievable. I think everyone is a legend there now, it is something special for the club, the first time they won the title and everyone there is buzzing,' smiled the diminutive winger. McClaren yesterday left the club for Germany, and Wolfsburg who competed in this season's Champions League. Stoch hopes it brings the Englishman further success overseas. 'I heard the manager had gone to Wolfsburg, I knew a little earlier that maybe he would leave, but it is not surprising, he has done a great job and what else can he do with the team?' he reasoned. 'Now he can move on to a bigger team and hopefully learn more.' And what for his own future? 'I don't know what will happen but we have to decide the best option for me, last year we decided really well when I went to Twente, and now I hope we will do the best again,' he explained. 'I want to play all the time like I did in Holland.' Stoch was at Cobham for his end of season fitness testing, and was joined by fellow loanees Jack Cork, Michael Mancienne and Scott Sinclair. Cork rounded his loan spell at Burnley on Sunday with a goal as the Clarets came back from two down to beat Tottenham 4-2. The goal, a second-half header, pulled already relegatedBurnley level before they went on to win the game. It was Cork's 11th appearance for the Turf Moor side since arriving there in early February, following a spell with Coventry City for the first half of the season. Mancienne was not involved in Wolves' final game of the season on Sunday, so completed his stay at Molineux with 25 starts and eight sub appearances, helping them to achieve Premier League survival for the first time. Sinclair was ineligible for Wigan's visit to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, but was at the game to see his temporary side beaten 8-0 by the Blues. During his time at the DW Stadium, Scott made five starts and 17 sub appearances, scoring twice. Franco Di Santo has also completed his loan spell at Blackburn, where he made 16 starts and nine sub appearances, scoring a solitary goal against local rivals Burnley in October. Source: Chelsea FC

Tottenham Youth 3 Chelsea FC Youth 0
EskWeston replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Dissapointing to end the season like this, but being down to 10 men and having Sam Walker play as a striker made this game impossible, still after a very successful season where the team has finished in a very respectable position in the league and won the Youth Cup i don't think anyone would mind too much. -
A depleted Chelsea Academy side finished off an FA Youth Cup-winning season with an away defeat to Tottenham in their second game in two days. The side, which only had two substitutes on the bench after a weekend win over Ipswich, went down to 10 men midway through the first half when Kaby Djalo (pictured) was shown red. It's likely the spritely midfielder would have been sent off following a late tackle but when a scuffle ensued red was the only option for the referee as Djalo was sent for an early shower. However, despite being down to 10 and tired, the side continued to compete late into the second half when the game was killed off by Tottenham's third. It didn't take long for the hosts to take the lead once Chelsea went down to 10. It was a good piece of football that sealed the opener as the home team dazzled our defence with some direct two-touch passing. As the move reached its final man a mistake from Aldi Haxhia between the Chelsea posts was enough for the ball to slip over the line just before the half-hour mark. At half time youth team manager Dermot Drummy decided to use one of his two subs when he swapped George Saville for Todd Kane. The change spurred the side into action but despite producing a few decent chances, Chelsea failed to really threaten to Spurs' goal. Then, just before the hour mark was up, Philipp Prosenik went off with an injury, forcing goalkeeper Sam Walker into a striker's role as he took up the offensive position. Not long after, despite having two keepers on the pitch, Chelsea conceded the second when another breakdown in communication allowed the hosts to break past our defensive line before slotting home. It would take another 20 minutes for Tottenham to increase the lead but when they netted for the third time the game died down. Chelsea continued to work hard but the recent spate of games began to show as they tired towards the end. 'The boys did well today and have had a fantastic season, it was a shame we finished the season with a loss but overall it's been a brilliant campaign,' said Drummy after the game. 'They showed fantastic commitment and although our discipline went slightly, you can't argue with the overall work ethic of the side. 'We just want to congratulate the first team players and staff on winning the League and thank them for giving the boys a chance to see, at close quarters, a League-winning side. 'These are things in development that you can only learn by winning. The first team showed us that this weekend and the way they were with the boys was fantastic.' Chelsea (4-3-3): Aldi Haxhia; Ben Sampayo, Nathaniel Chalobah, Kenny Strickland, Aziz Deen-Conteh; George Saville (Todd Kane H-T), Anton Rodgers, Kaby Djalo; Milan Lalkovic, Bobby Devyne, Philipp Prosenik (Sam Walker 57). Some of the players involved this season could well be on loan next season, Borini, Bruma, Van Aanholt...... so it is not clear which players it will be. I would think that Stoch and Kakuta are very likely to be involved though,
-
Jack Cork will not be sold this summer, and most certainly Miro Stoch won't be either. Bruma, Borini, Hutchinson, Kakuta ect. have had the benefit of being around during Carlo's first season. Players like Cork, Mancienne, Bertrand ect.. will all come back in the summer and be looked at, and Carlo will be given full reports of everyone. Jack Cork is a very talented midfielder and i am sure the club are keen to keep him on at Chelsea.
-
When Carlo was being discussed and becoming our manager i was very unsure about him and wouldn't have been the man i would have picked. He has come in though and in his first season has done incredibly well, he brought in 1 player in Zhirkov and set about getting used to the players he had, their strengths and weaknesses. He worked with different formations and set ups and as the season has moved on we have seen him really mould a team and we have played some terriffic football. I am looking forward to seeing what Carlo will build for us now at Chelsea, i think our future is in good hands.
-
Looked excellent, the whole atmosphere for the whole game looked fantastic. Would have been amazing to be there and i am sure all of you who were there will always remember that day.
-
Bit strange to post this after we have just won the league..... Can't see anything wrong with the relationship that Carlo has with his players, yesterday showed that they are close and that Carlo works very well with his team, wouldn't have won the league otherwise. Just because Carlo doesn't show in public the way Jose did his emotions and relationships with the players doesn't mean that it is any less.

What a wonderful day yesterday was, to win the league in style by slamming 8 past Wigan, Drogs scoring a hat-trick to win the golden boot. Cech pulling of a cracking save to win the golden glove!!!!!! The celebrations were fantastic and it was a brilliant day......... Unfortunately a boozless celebration for me but it was all the better this year having my daughter to celebrate with, watching her in her Chelsea kit clapping at the TV while the celebrations went on was such a good feeling.

Chelsea's Under 18 side won their penultimate game of season by thumping visitors Ipswich 4-0 despite the rain pouring down. FA Youth Cup-winning captain Conor Clifford started in midfield alongside fellow Cup finalists Sam Walker in goal, Aziz Deen-Conteh at left-back and Jacopo Sala up front. Adam Phillip (pictured) also returned to the starting line-up after missing most of the season through injury. A 4-3-3 set-up was youth team manager Dermot Drummy's choice as the side lined up against Ipswich. It was a slow start at Cobham, with the game unfolding in midfield as both sides failed to threaten either goal. It took 20 minutes for Walker to be tested between the posts when the keeper was forced into an acrobatic one-handed save to deflect a shot from reaching the net. Then the opening goal arrived when Daniel Philliskirk broke down the centre of the pitch, placing a clever through ball for Phillip to latch onto. The striker then rounded the keeper before drilling into the net. It was the perfect return to competitive football but not long after Phillip was forced out of the game with injury as he limped off to be replaced by Philipp Prosenik. Chelsea doubled the lead minutes before half time when Milan Lalkovic won a penalty with some boisterous play down the left, which saw him dance his way into the box before being cut to the ground. The referee pointed to the spot and the young Slovakian drove a low shot down the centre which the keeper saved but failed to hold onto, allowing 15-year-old Nathaniel Chalobah to net the loose ball. Drummy then made two changes at half time and rested Sala and Clifford, who were replaced by Anton Rodgers and Todd Kane. And soon it was 3-0 after Philliskirk, who had received the armband from Clifford, scored a well-worked goal before minutes later Kane made it four. The schoolboy netted Chelsea's final goal with a left-footed strike after a Lalkovic shot rebounded off the woodwork into the youngster's path. The game was as good as over early into the second half, and with such a huge deficit to come back from, Ipswich failed to produce any real chances on goal. Instead the Blues sat back and completed another comfortable victory as they head into their final game of the season against Tottenham this Monday. Chelsea (4-3-3): Sam Walker; Ben Sampayo, Nathaniel Chalobah, Ben Gordon, Aziz Deen-Conteh; Conor Clifford © (Anton Rodgers H-T) George Saville, Daniel Philliskirk; Jacopo Sala (Todd Knae H-T) Adam Phillip (Phillip Prosenik 41), Milan Lalkovic. Chelsea Youth Team - cup winners 2010

Highlights: Celebration Highlights: -
Josh has been training with the first team for a while now, it is possible he may be given a chance with the first team next season but i would think it is not very likely. The second leg of the final has certainly done massive things for his reputation among Chelsea fans and outside too. His performances have not been always been great this season but he has certainly improved massively through the season. Incredible talent, if we can nurture him right he can be seriously good.

Absolutely swamped at work at the moment. Just wanted to post to say it was an immense game last night! Very proud of the boys for their achievment and fully deserved also.. I will be writing up a full match report as soon as i can and i am going to try my hardest to get the highlights up tonight!! Josh McEachran was f**king unreal last night, anyone watching that game having never previously seen him play would be scratching their heads as to why he isn't in our first team already, seriously sensational stuff from him last night. -
As we watch the first team see their season come down to 1 all or nothing game the same can be said with the Youth team. After last weeks dramatic 1 - 1 draw at Villa park it has come down to 1 game at the bridge where the winner takes all. The end of a long cup run for both teams, but who will come out on top? by tomorrow evening we will know the answer to that question. The Chelsea academy has taken a LOT of criticism especially since Roman Abramovic took over. Not producing young players was something that was said we couldn't do. When Frank Arnesson came in the club as head of youth development the ridicule became even worse, with criticism even coming from our own fans. What everyone failed to understand was that when Roman took over we basically had no academy, of course we did have one but it was one that was very much left to it's own and never really expected to produce anyone. Since then Roman has spent a lot of money on the academy building first class facilities for them to develop in and bringing in the right people to train and educate them. 7 years later we are truly seeing the benefit of that investment. Virtually all the players coming through to be first year scholars are from the younger Chelsea groups and have been trained by the Chelsea coaches, last summer Prosenik was the only signing outside of Chelsea for the academy. Before then the club had to try and draw from outside resources the best youth talent around to develop until the academy was really producing it's own. The best of that group we are already seeing involved in the Chelsea first team Bruma, Borini, Stoch, Kakuta, Van Aanholt all making inroads along with Sam Hutchinson and Michael Mancienne. This is what it all comes down to, bringing through players for the Chelsea first team. And it is really happening now. Most of the names mentioned above were part of the last Chelsea youth team to take part in a Youth Cup final. The team we will see take to the park tomorrow night are a better "team" than the one 2 years ago. Whether the individual talent of these players will match too see the same number breaking into the first team in 2 years time remains to be seen. But the feeling is that it will be the case. Certainly players like Josh McEeachran, Gokhan Tore, Connor Clifford, Aziz Deen-Conteh and Danny Pappoe have given plenty of evidence that they have the ability. And the rest of team also have shown plenty of evidence too. The talent is there and the football that is being played has been incredible. The results have been very impressive also, below is a recap of the games and the highlights of those games: So it all comes down to this, 90 minutes of football which will cement Chelsea's academy a place among the best in the country and set on a road that we hope will continue to produce talent for the first team and for them to stay for years to come and be the John Terry of our future. The boys certainly deserve it and are unlucky to not already be ahead in the tie. It looks like it will be a big crowd at the bridge for tommorow night which is fantastic to see. Good luck to the boys and Keep the blue flag flying high....

YES!!!!!!!! Hate them with a passion

We have all the motivation that we need. Hopefully we can win it in style and blow Wigan away. Massive massive game but one we should most definately win.
