Technique: equal - Jack Cork's technique is miles off Lampard, obviously age has a lot to do with that but i don't see many similarities there Physic: equal - Jack isn't as physical as Lamps, can be worked on though Passing: equal - Different type of passer, Jack is more like Ballack in that respect than Lamps i feel shooting: equal - No way near, not many strikers as good at shooting as Lamps is, He gets into some good positions as you would expect from a midfielder, but not the way Lamps does underrated by own fans: equal - Frank is most certainly NOT underrated by his own fans. And to be fair there are not many Chelsea fans who will know anything of Jack Cork as he never played for our first team outside of pre season. I like Jack a LOT and think he can offer us lots this season if given the chance, but to compare him to Lampard, i just don't see any similarity. Connor Clifford on the other hand, there is player like Lamps the way he drives the midfield (kind of an Essien/Lamps cross breed actually)

Don't know about the comparison to Lampard, but i think Jack Cork is a quality player and i would hate to see us lose him

Ancelotti plans on more signings for Chelsea
EskWeston replied to chrismada9's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
No need to make any defensive signings at all, we are well covered there!!! I think all we need to do is bring in a young attacker, would love it to have been Aguero but i think Neymar might be the one we go for and would be a quality signing. Basically a player who can play across the front line. -
Scott's was at a time when the academy was still finding it's feet. I think the set up is a 100 times better now and i don't think players will be mis-managed in the same way again.
-
Have always felt a bit sorry for Scott actually, his loan moves have always been fragmented and he has never really got going anywhere for various reasons. Was a quality player up until the point he went on loan and then it started to wrong for him, his initial loan at Plymouth was very good but after that it never worked.
-
Agree with the comparisons to Zidane. Some of the things he does is just amazing, and i can't wait to see when he is doing the things we saw him do in the FA Youth cup for the first team.............. We are incredibly lucky to have SERIOUSLY talented youngsters coming through as Bruma, Josh and Kakuta these have the makings of being World Stars of the future.
-
Would be a good move for Scott to play again with Holloway who knows him very well and would give him the games. Might be worth in this case making it a loan move as this could really kick-start his career. Although i could understand why if the club to make a transfer.
-
Will be very pleased once i see the shots of him signing his contract, i think he will be a quality player for us and we are picking him up at a very good age. Our midfield has gone from looking on the old side to looking very fresh and exciting: Lampard, Essien, Benayoun, Mikel, Ramires, Matic, Kakuta
-
Will be very interesting to see how Carlo handles Josh this season, how much first team game time does he get? For sure he will not be relied on too heavily but give him game time now and it will only help him grow into a better player
-
Kakuta can make a big impact this season thats for sure. He has really matured in the last year on the back of a couple of bad injuries. Just hope he is given the right amount of chances to show something and try t earn himself more games. Slightly worried by the fact that he has a year left on his contract, but fingers crossed that gets dealt with and we don't balls it up....
-
Cech, Alex, Bosingwa and Deco did not travel and will not play this game. But you are right that Cech and Alex will be OK for the CS apparently, but he may give them another week and have them ready for the start of the season.
-
Carlo said on CTV that he wants the players who are to start the CS to play as much of this game as possible so the starting 11 should be interesting. Lots of work still to do but hopefully we will see an improvement in fitness and the flow of our football.

Seems like just yesterday this forum got going, and it has come a long way since then and is a quality forum, this is down to the hard work of everyone who works on this forum and the quality posters that we have.............. Keep up the good work everyone.
-
Really hope this deal goes through. If we conclude our summers signings with Ramires and Neymar i would be a very happy man, but lets wait and see though.
-
This has been such a disjointed pre season.......... but it will have no bearing at all to how our season plays out. Most of the team have only been back a week. The second half was much better than the first, down to having players on who have had a longer pre season barring lamps and Riccy C. It was a good workout and Frankfurt really gave us a tough time physically considering it was pre season. 2 more games and 1 2 more weeks to get everyone up to speed.
-
Would be surprised if the club are not sorting something out for him now, or even have something sorted and it will be announced once he is back. Bearing in mind he hasn't been back at the club yet since the summer break.
-
Looks a good player with real talent. As does Reece Mitchell. Look forward to seeing them come through. Swift has already played for the U18's so i would expect him to play a bit this season.
-
Disappointing to see no Bertrand and Van Aanholt ahead of him. Wrong choice in my opinion. And a lack of Jack Cork is disappointing too. Still looking forward to a good game tomorrow.

A very important win and the milk cup is a very good tournament for these players. And who is to say we are not winning tournaments with those types of teams in. Neil Bath has said that Chelsea teams at various levels are now winning a number of trophies across different competitions. Just because we don't read about it doesn't mean it does not happen.. It just so happens that the Milk Cup is a high profile competition.
-
Indeed they do, but also for me it highlights why young players in Germany, Italy and Spain come through in better and more quantity is that they are playing this type of opposition week in week out, clearly it is a big difference to reserve team football and to play this sort of opposition every week would massive increase the players ability and experience. This is the way English football has to go if it REALLY wants to improve the quality of players coming through.
-
18 goals without conceding a single goal.... really dominated this tournament and another Chelsea academy victory..
-
Highlights:
-
Absolutely, like Frank i think that Didier you do not replace. You just learn to play without him. Although Lukaku with similar qualities (time will tell how far those qualities can go) and an apparant love for Chelsea we might just be lucky enough to get bloody close to Didier.
-
Have already done a Kakuta one , game highlights will be starting once the seasons start for Reserves and youth although i hope to get highlights of the Wycombe friendly last night...... no more player compilations though until the end of next season. When one of the ones i hope to do will be a Bruma one.
-
as much as i would love to see it i am not sure if Kakuta will be getting that many starts.......... i am sure his game time will be a lot higher than last season. Kakuta is an incredibly exciting player and has really grown as a player in the last couple of years. Could be a excellent option for us this season behind the forward or on the left wing. I truly hope he is given plenty of chances.
