  1. Yeah one of his best games ever for us. After that game I really thought Drogba-Torres with Anelka playing #10 could work lol
  2. Lamps played well against Norwich, and with Mikel out he's our best option. Why are people complaining?
  3. Lukaku not being involved isn't a big deal. One of the subs is gonna be another CF (Torres) anyway
  4. Mata, Sturridge and Anelka all have some experience playing all 3 forward positions. Expects a lot of switching
  5. But 1 in 8 clear goal scoring chances is very poor form, even worse if you consider that players are expected to score a few in non-clear chances. But I do agree about the rest. I have a good feeling about Mata-Sturridge support and hope the three of them score at least one each today
  6. I agree. I desperately want Torres to succeed as well but some of the excuses that are being made for him are just pathetic. That people are willing to compromise the already-unconvincing team for his "confidence" is perhaps worse though.
  7. There's no such thing as "Torres NEEDS to play". If you feel Anelka's more likely to score than Torres, Drogba or Lukaku, you start him. We no longer have the luxury of starting out-of-form players, and starting such player solely based on reputation only sends out wrong message to everyone in the squad. Three points are hard to come by as it is, why try to make it even harder? Like AVB's been saying, the starting XI should change on weekly basis, and the players who look the best in training should get the nod. If Torres can't do that, he shouldn't be playing to begin with and we'll need to find ourselves a new striker (hopefully Lukaku's ready)
  8. If it's for the better, I wouldn't mind dropping Torres (or anyone for that matter). Del Bosque certainly didn't.
  9. Let's see.... Mata - New signing who's only played 20 minutes for us Torres - Striker who's scored one goal in last 20+ matches Sturridge - Young player with little experience Now.... I'd say they are promising because the two youngsters look great and Torres can't play any worse than he's currently playing, but I'll wait and see before I call it a dream team
  10. Can you blame the writers for finding Torres story fascinating? He's only one of the most expensive players ever. And really, even here, all we talk about after a game is how much "service" Torres got
  11. Good to see Mata and Sturridge always training together.
  12. Yeah he could have scored one or two, but still a good game by him.
  13. Welbeck for Sunderland: 6 goals in 28 matches Sturridge for Bolton: 8 goals in 12 matches Just because Sturridge wasn't able to play the first 3 games, it doesn't mean he can't do it. He was one of our best if not the best player during the preseason and we've already seen his qualities. The notion that you can't judge a player until he starts scoring goals for a big club is beyond ridiculous especially considering he's already proven he can score against the same competition that the big club faces. Now you might say "small sample size", but where does that leave Welbeck?
  14. Better chance of the world actually ending in 2012 than seeing that lineup in 2017/18 IMO. I'd also put Kalas and Wallace ahead of Bruma at RB position.
  15. Both are very promising as is Sturridge. Other than that, it's too early to tell
  16. Preference is to have more English players obviously, but priority is to win.
  17. We are just trying to showcase Kalou for January transfer window
  18. Not the greatest summer for Arsenal, but it could have been worse.
  19. Ramires is always going to be our biggest decision. I think it'd be probably better to start Lamps and Meireles against weaker teams.
  20. I'm assuming they are the ones paying for his wages. Wouldn't make any sense for us to help our rivals out even more.
  21. Download the MOTD highlights + analysis for the Wolves-Liverpool game (Jan. 22) last season. Absolutely brilliant performance by Meireles in that game.
  22. Exactly. He wants to stay, and we have to respect that.
  23. Those of you who think he should have stayed here are missing two things: 1. He won't get a work permit to play here 2. He barely played for his Mexican club, how do you expect him to play for our first team this season. (Same situation as Piazon who hasn't played a single minute for Sao Paulo).
  24. Martinez is a good manager and I think it'd be great for Josh to get some playing time at Wigan. I doubt he's gonna get much here this season
