Our own coach said in a press conference that we dont need this player. Signing a player because it would only be a cheap mistake isnt exactly a good move. If the club thinks this is a good move, they will sign him and I will stand corrected. If they dont, I'd like to assume they already considered my cons My apologies if you sensed any sort of hostility in my post, definitely did not mean any.

Our bench is weak because we only use half of it. We would start crippled veterans rather then put in fresh blood. Arsenal's bench are hungry youngsters waiting for starters to pick up an injury so they get their chance to shine. Thats what should be sitting on our bench, not a bandaid player.

A rule is a command, not a statement. What you stated was a lesson. Pros: We have a replacement if Lampard get's injured again before Mikel, Yossi, and Zhirkov recover, before Essien rediscovers his form, and we decide to not play our own youngsters, AGAIN. Cons: Everything you decided not to address.

Kakuta, Josh, Ramires, Essien?

That doesnt even qualify as a rule. Pienaar is class, sure, whatever, blah blah blah.. He helped me out in fantasy last year, so I guess that counts for something. But just because you find a nice looking puzzle piece, you dont just try to jam it into your nearly finished work. Im sure he would be handy, but the pro's dont outweigh the cons.

Dont forget we have Yossi, Zhirkov, Mikel, Ramires (whos improving at 100kmh) and an Essien trying to rediscover his form. If there is one thing we should have learned from missing Lampard, its that he is not easily replaced. Our entire rotation was thrown a loop. A Pienaar could not balance that. Its a useless addition to our team. I'd rather give some of Pienaar's wage cut to Ivanovic (who is reportedly payed less than Sturridge @ 60k p/week) and keep him happily at our club. A new winger, defender, and hitman would shake the ladder right under the current top 4.

Im so confused about how many of you wouldnt mind Pienaar at the Bridge. Pienarr is everything we DO NOT want. The midfield being filled with another average older player to knock our promising youngsters further down the pecking order is useless and unnecessary. Pienaar will not carry Chelsea over his shoulder and out of this slump. I want our own blood coming through and giving the best the have to aid our club. Pienaar would shift our midfield around way too much. Him on the pitch takes McEachran out of the picture, lowers the possibility of playing time for Kakuta, and could very well shift Zhirkov into a leftback taking VanAanholt's turn. Do not want. What we need is a spark. Someone who is ready to light up our guys with some fireworks. Someone who will help our players find that groove again. Aguero and Torres particularly come to mind (VDV would have been a jackpot, that was a very bad mistake). All we need is perhaps a promising winger in midfield to give Anelka a run for his money (Neymar/Hazard/Sanchez) and we should be fine. Ofcourse we cant ignore the big hole in our defense, but thats a whole other problem.

oh snap! *grabs popcorn*

For 3 million? Thats practically free in todays market.

We dont sign players that are discussed in this transfer forum. The club will just announce a new signing of some random player we a) havnt heard of, or didnt even expect to sign. Whenever you see a player linked with us in the tabloids, there is a bigger chance of him not signing then actually signing.

Neymar would run circles around Sturridge, that has actually been discussed in this and various other threads. I didnt intend to sound hostile at all, sorry about that lol
-
Oh how stupid of us, how could we forget? Lets close this thread and someone give this man a medal.

That is truly what I believe, thats why I havnt worried too much about this season. I cant wait for Roman to finish cleaning up the house. A lot of stuff is happening behind the curtain right now, but I'm awaiting the moment the final product is revealed. You people THINK you know what is best for our club, but there is not a single suggestion here that our club hasnt already dissected and concluded useless. There is a reason for EVERYTHING. If Sturridge isnt being played, theres a reason why he isnt being played. You dont develop a young star in a sinking ship, it changes the entire growing and development experience. Put him in when were up 3-0 and let him bang some out.

Aguero extending his contract doesnt mean anything. This just allows Atheletico to drive up his price.

Elect me for manager, ill do a better job than this italian pussy. Its a fucking shame to this clubs history to let this man tarnish our name. I dont care who's fault it is anymore at this point, but as a manager you have a responsibility to this team, this guy doesnt know his. Terry can run this squad better than Carlo, Carlo is nothing but a puppet for Roman.

I should've re-worded the subject, because it seems as if many of you failed to read passed the title.
-
Very true, but he isnt even a natural Holding Midfielder, we just twisted and molded him into it due to his physical stature. He has said himself on many occasions that he likes moving further up and creating plays, he cant do that here, we have a god damn firing squad backing our front line. This isnt a plea to sell Mikel in the next transfer window, but we should be looking for true holding player and let Mikel play where his is comfortable or move on.
-
I think we have a gem in our squad, however, it wont be discovered here at Chelsea. I think Mikel needs to move to a different league, maybe Italy. I feel that Inter could do very well with Obi and he would develop and grow much more over there. We are searching for another Midfielder this window, pushing Mikel even further down the pecking order, its not fair to have such a driven and hard working player on the side of the pitch. We could make a shiny penny off of him and use it to fund another more vital player for this squad. I think Hamsik or a skilled winger would be far more effective in our team at this point.

Thats exactly what Im afraid of. If we land any of the spanish teams during the CL, we're fucked. Might aswell park the bus and hope for the best.
