I really hope we can get this deal done. To me Luiz screams of a yougn Carvalho and we can get atleast 10 years of good service from this lad. With Terry and Alex injury phrone these days and Bruma not quite ready this would be a very good deal.

Afternoon Blues Our squad this season has been stretched at times to say the least which got me thinking, these 2 would both make very good squad players. Both can play in midfield and any-where across the back, both have got premierleague expierence and are popular where-ever they have gone out on loan. I think both would make valuble addiditions to the squad next season, they wont moan about not starting evrey game and would give 100% when they are on, evrey top team needs players like that. So next season i hope that atleast 1 of them are in the squad. KTBFFH

:goodpost: Is it a coinsidence that Gerrards 2 best seasons (07/08 and 08/09) is when he has Alonso and Mascerano protecting the crap out of him, he hasnt looked so good since they both jumped ship.
-
Sorry but Sinclair just was not good enough, he had a fair few chances in the 1st team under Jose, Avram and Scolari and didnt really impress in any of them (with the expetion of Arsenal at the Emirates the day we lost the league). Bertrand is a good player and if he was a right back id say he had a real shout, but with A-D-C and P-V-A comperting for that position he might find it difficult, having said that he is defiently prem standard atleast. Cork i agree does deserve a chance, he was single handedly trying to get Burnley out of a hole last season and has been argubly their best player this, ive always seen him as our versatile back up (John O Shea style).

January transfer window Peinnar £3 million David Luiz £21 million + Ferriera Neymar £25 million Summer OUT Bosingwa Millan £9m IN Srna FREE AGENT (would be a good deal as a free agent) Boaz Myhill £1 million (short term deal would be a decent number 2 until Delac is ready) Asahmoah Gyan £19 million (with Drogs and Anelka getting on he could be the answer up front, his idolis Drogba and he is good mates with Essien so that could help swing it) Phil Jones £10 million we were apparently going to sign him this month till his injury. Lukaku if we can get him and that beligum winger we have been linked with.
-
All in all this will be a very good signing. He will increase squad detph because as good as the youngsters are they aint ready just yet, Peinnar is just a stop gap and he is a very good player. Anelka joined us in January as a 28 going on 29 year old and all in all that has worked preety well.

Title says it all. Im sick of rival fans laughing when we even try and hint that Frank is up there with the best in the world but during the last 7 years consistancy wise has there been any-one better? Lets look at the facts 2003/2004 Lamps scored 15 goals with 6 assists 2004/2005 Lamps scored 19 goals with 16 assists 2005/2006 Lamps scored 20 goals with 9 assists 2006/2007 Lamps scored 21 goals with 15 assists 2007/2008 Lamps scored 20 goals with 11 assists 2008/2009 Lamps scored 20 goals with 19 assists 2009/2010 Lamps scored 27 goals with 20 assists So far this season Lamps has got 4 goals and 2 assists in 10 games, would u be suprised if he has another late surge to the 20 goal mark? i certaintly wont. For England he has scored 20 goals in 83 caps which is preety impressive considering he plays a deeper role to occupy Gerrard (who he has scored more goals with less caps may i add). In 2005 he came 2nd in the fifa world player of the year to Ronaldinho, 5 years on Lampard is still banging them in and picking up on assists while Ronaldinho has been parmed off to Brazil after being deemed surplus to requirements at Milan. Jose Mourinho also said he is the best profesinal he has ever worked with. He has scored in the Champions League final, European championship's, unjustly robbed of a WC goal, FA Cup final and the 2 goals that got us our 1st Prem. Whatever the scene at Chelsea, whoever the manager is and whoever the players around him are you can always bank on 1 thing and that is Frankie Lampard will get plenty of goals and assists from midfield. Can you think of a more consistent player over the last 7 years? England fans may take Lampard for granted but us Blues realise how lucky we are. Stats clearly state that Lamps is up there with the best so lets show our true appreciation to a brilliant midfield general and a Chelsea legend Frank Lampard this 1's on Frank

I think the performance was actully very good yestoday. Blackburn came to do 1 thing and that was get a draw, park the bus, we had something like 27 shots they had 3, the score-line flattered them. Wins over Bolton and Sunderland will be just what is needed, we owe Sunderland one up north after what happened at the Bridge and we havent droped points or conceded a goal at the Reebok since a 1-1 draw there in 2002. So touch wood were do ok.

When looking down the pecking order at the reserves, youth team and players out on loan in terms of future options at left back we seemed preety spoiled for choice. At the moment Ashely Cole is un-disputed 1st choice in the left back position but when he slows down/hangs up with boots we dont half have some good options from below. Zhirkov can play there which adds more strenth even though i think he will be moved on in the summer which is a shame because i rate him highly. HE has never really been given a proper chance to show what he can do, if he does stays they should play him at LM more often because for C.S.K.A he has scored some brilliant goals from that position. But going down to the lads from the reserves and youth system we have got some fantastic options. Patrick Van Aanholt - He is the furthest ahead of the young players at the moment with a bit of 1st team expierence with 3 1st team starts, he scored on his full debut against Newcastle, was comftable against Ipswich and was menancing overlapping against Zilina he looked like another version of A.Cole. I rate him very highly and with time, more appearances and even more confident he should start looking at challenging A.Cole for the position. Aziz Deen Conteh - Another player with a big future and at only 16 has lots of time to develop, his stamina is un-real i saw a youth team game against Fullham in november and he was crossing 1 minute into the box and clearing off the line the next, he can also play at left midfield aswell which could easily see him becoming our answer to Gareth Bale, i would watch out for this one. Ryan Bertrand - He has excelled at Nottingham Forest and Reading before that after a difficult spell at Norwich which saw him expierence relegation, he is brilliant going foward can be better at the back but that will come with age and more games, if he was a right back i would say he had a real shout but sadly with the 2 above coming on leaps and bound the odds may be stacked against him unfortunently. But he will without doubt make it into the premiership in some capacity. Ben Gordon - Just completed a loan to Scunthorpe after a hugely succesfull loan at Kilmarnock where he helped them get up at the right end of the SPL table after years of relegation battles, if he helped turn Scunthorpe's season around he might attract mroe attention from Carlo and the fans, as with the vast options we have at LB his chances to imprese at Chelsea may be limited. but a good spell at Scunny and you never know. So all in all our left back position's for the future look preety safe 1 way or another.

We should pick the same team as Ipswich (Possibly Cole in over PVA), show the likes of Essien and Drogba that if the dont start performing they will be dropped. Line-up: Cech, Bossy, Brana, JT, Cole/PVA, Ramires, McEachran, Lampard, Kalou, Anelka, Sturridge. Subs: Turnbull, Bruma, Cole/PVA, Essien, Malouda, Kakuta, Drogba.

Where Kakuta off to?

Title says it all. What do you think our nightmare and perfect end to the season is? Ill start with my nightmare. We finish 5th or below with Spuds beating us at Stamford Brigde twice (once in the league and the other to knock us out of the CL) We get knocked out of the FA by Crawley town The Champions League final ends up being contested by Tottenham and Arsenal (i think i would scream) THis is the dream end We make an amazing comeback and win the league and FA Cup. Win the CL beating Arsenal or Barca, Spurs and Man.Utd along the way. With JT scoring the winner in the final

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Chelsea-are-close-to-a-21m-deal-for-Benfica-centre-back-David-Luiz-with-Paulo-Ferreira-moving-in-the-opposite-direction-and-are-also-keen-on-18m-Ajax-right-back-Gregory-van-der-Wiel-article672193.html It looks like it Luiz could be coming in for £21m + Ferriera. Great servant Paulo has been and i wish him luck there if it is true. Luiz is a classy defender he would be our next Carvalho no doubt.

Morning Blues I joined this forum a few days ago but i thought now is the best time to formully introduce myself to people that aint come across me. Im Tom 19 years old been a blue for 16 of them, 1st match i went to watch was a 5-0 thumping of Arsenal at Highbury in 1998 (boy i know how to pick them). My best moment as a Chelsea fan has to be winning the league at Bolton and the worst in terms of pain has to be the CL final. Well this is me, feel free to comment and ask questions follow me on twitter @Warren__9 KTBFFH

While its no secret Kalou aint the best of players, on Song he can be very effective in his own right. He loves the club and is happy to sit on the bench and can be very good coming off the bench, i cant think of a better super sub. Lets not also mention he has scored some vital goals for us aswell. - The last minute winner at watford that kept us in the title race. - The equaliser against Spurs in the FA Cup 2007 that earned a replay, we went on to win it. - The winner at the Reebok in 2007 that stoped a long run without scoring or winning. - A late winner against Newcastle at the end of 2007 that stoped us being cut adrift at the top. - A late equaliser against Man.Utd which (all be it breifly) saved our long home record. - His goal against Southend spared us from an embarrising 3rd round home exit, we went on to win the competition. - Scored what was at the time a vital away goal at the San Siro. - Scored an early brace against Stoke at home which eased unbreable nerves during the title run in last season. - Scored the 3rd against Wigan which basically settled any possible lingering nerves on the last day. - Scored in the 1st minute against Blackpool which set us up for a 1st half rout. So despite his obvious frustrations at times and is usually a super sub on the wing he does chip in with a fair few goals (some important) since he has joined his goal rate per season has been 9-11-10-12 and 7 goals so far this season. That aint too bad atleast we know what were going to get. So despite evreything he always chips in with about 10 or so goals (some vital goals) evrey season.

Richard Keys is a even bigger knob than Gray. THe day we play Blackpool is the day he coinsidentially comes to work in a tangerine tie
-
I really dont see how some peeps think Barca are unbeatable, there not. Granted we will have to play a defensive system against Barca, because as Arsenal proved last season attack Barca they will rip you to shreds but we have the players to sit back absorb Barca at the Nou Camp then get them at Stamford Brigde, the last time we played them we should have been atleast 3-0 up before Iniesta scored (I was pissed at the time off that goal so the raw pain of that moment set in the next morning when i had Mancs waiting for me in college). It will be hard but Barca are beatable, tbh id be more worried about Madrid because of the Jose factor.

Ive been on here 3 days and this is only my 9th post and i already feel at home already Thankyou evrey-one, Blue Lion especially for helping me get sorted on here KTBFFH

Andy Gray is the worst, his anti-Chelsea jibes are embarrising. Even though i loved it when he was nearly crying when Lampard scored at Anfield last season when he realised that the title wasnt going to his beloved Man.Utd :champions:
-
He looks a promosing talent, only thing is he ready for premiership football right now?
-
Since Duff and Rooben left i dont think we have had the best corner takers and free kicks out wide. We use to cause havoc with their corners and score a lot of goals with them, like for example the Man.City game on the 1st day of 06/07 for Terry's goal as soon as Rooben stuck that free kick in i knew it was 1-0 before JT touched it.
-
I was thinking about this the other day. We do need a couple of squad players who could come in for the short term, happy to sit on the bench and do a job if need be, maybe Manuel Fernandes aswell? Has any-one else pondered a 2 month loan move for Marques just incase Alex dont recover on time? Marques is playing for NY Red Bulls and would be avalible on loan till mid March

BlueLion Very true i have mates that are Argyle fans and not 1 of them has a bad word to say about Connor he really has helped steady them in the league. From what ive heard Carlo rates Conor and will give him a chance some-where along the line. As for Josh what can i say that has not alreay been said by a million people (me included) a million times??
