  1. The difference is Arsenal fans did it season after season and do it regardless. When we beat them under Hiddink then twice again under Carlo its "it don't matter because we play prettier football", they constantly say their team is set to dominate in 3 years then when they fall flat and the players dont make it they say it again. If were still in this stage in 2 years and the same things are being said again and again then we will be sounding like Arsenal.
  2. The Cole decline has been over-exaggerared. I think we are all comparing him to 09/10 where he was unreal. Hoving said that we have to look at phasing him out sooner rather than later.
  3. Bit off topic but how did i do on TC twitter yesterday? I hope i did okayish for the first go
  4. I am probally going to get slated for this but i think he has a huge season in him if not this season next. Remember Drogba in 08/09 when he went on a similar goal drought recovered and slowly but surely got back on the goal trail for the rest of that season before exploding the season after, Rooney looks like doing the same after his goal drought last season. Whats to say Fernando cannot do the same? It was always going to be a slow process by Andre getting his confidence back and you have to say so far so good.
  5. Funny that there has been more optimism in after this game than any we have won
  6. Im thinking a couple of youth, hopefully should we go through were get a League One side and we can play more youth. --------------------Cech-------------------- Ferreira-----Luiz---------Alex------Ryan --------------------Mikel-------------------- --------McEachran---------Lampard---- Sturridge-------------------------Malouda --------------------Anelka------------------ Subs: Blackman, Ivanovic, Chalaboh, Romeu, Meireles, Mata, Lukaku. Give Ramires, Bosingwa Terry, Cole and Torres the night off to keep them fresh. Swap Sturridge for Mata at half time so there reasonably fresh for Swansea. I think the main reason for the bad form last season of the likes of Flo and Nelks was a few things. 1. The double the season before. 2. Overplayed 3. Always started no matter how poorly. 4. Lack of motivation. Given Andre's rotation policy 2 and 3 won't be a problem, 4 will never be with AVB at the helm and 1 certainly aint a factor anymore.
  7. Dear anti Chelsea rags Your no doubt in your office right now obsessing over Fernando Torres and his open goal miss but can i care to remind you that there has been much worse in this video, including not one, two but three open goal misses by David Villa, one by Cristiano Ronaldo and two by Thierry Henry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22WqS9TZDeQ and here is the Sun and Mirror's lovechild Ryan Giggs missing a open goal against Arsenal Where were the obssesive articles then?
  8. the knobends aint obviously seen this if they think Torres was the worst miss.
  9. Know what i find funny? Carroll cost £35m, a unjustible fee, alteast Torres is proven at the top level, performs and stinker today and not even a word is said about him on MOTD and probally the media infact apart from the 30 minute show against City i would say he has been much worse than Torres. Torres performs great at Old Trafford yet the focus on one moment. Pretty pathetic really.
  10. Great review We should have won or atleast drew, best we have played at Old Trafford since the 3-0 win their a decade ago. We had 21 chances no one else will go there and have that many.
  11. My comp broke down after my last tweet , sorry mate hope i did allright.
  12. sweet, what time do you usualy start? a hour or so before kick off?
  13. To be fair Drogba has only scored 3 times since then and that was in the same week and Anelka has only scored 3 times.
  14. Even as a Carlo fan i could not for the life of me work out why he kept doing that. Gave opponents advantage and say against Villa he said Bruma will start so Villa has 24 hours to work out how to target him. I think because he is a nice man who don't like confrontation the media took advantage of that.
  15. Nope and the only 2 times United have blown a 2 goal lead at home this decade, Di Matteo was a player in one of them and a coach in the other. So got to be something in that?
  16. While Malouda has not been at his best for a year i find it quite disturbing the amount of hate he gets. Yes want him off the team if he is not performing, yes if you think he does not offer as much as more want him sold and yes crisise him if he aint performing but all this hate befounds me. Do you remember Malouda during Hiddink's spell, the double winning season and the start of 10/11, he was fantastic and really something to behold. It's a shame he gets so much hate and while sadly he will probally never make that standard again he has still contributed a lot down the years and i would imagine he can still get about 10 goals this year. He may not be on form for a place in the team now but i certainly am not going to let one average year cloud over the good things Malouda has given this club.
  17. well my way of thinking is i can forgive any lack of ability if they put effort in. Anyway i can remeber something when Kalou first joined don't know how much truth there is in it but i might aswell mention it now while i remember, apparently if Crespo left sooner than he did Kalou would have got the number 9 shirt. thoughts?
  18. Is it me or have some members disappeared after MOTM nominations? Spuz has not been seen since he got nominated back in April i think now lionsden and styles have seemed to have gone from the face of the earth.
  19. GIving Lukaku his full debut at Old Trafford is too dangerous, lets give him time Arsenal rush young players in too quickly and destroy them.
  20. Its been said you need atleast one on form forward to win trophies but with us since Roman has came, bar 2 Didier Drogba unbelievable season's, we have never had a forward bang on top his game week in week out season after season, like Henry or Van Nisseroy. Press say we are over reliant on Drogba but our record without him has been pretty impressive, its only really Arsenal for obvious reason's we feel his loss to a great extent. Infact in 2009/2010 we had a 100% record in games he did not play in and spanning between January 2009 and October 2010 we infact were without Drogba for 20 games, winning 18 and averaging 3 goals a game in those matches. Infact our last day defeat at Everton last season was the first time we got beat in a match Drogba was not involved in since Arsenal beat us 2-1 at The Bridge back in 2008. Don't get me wrong Drogba has been a fantastic player for us and a club legend but we have not rellied on him as much as the press would like us to believe. But reading some guys comment on youtube got me thinking, he said basically every-one is a forward in this team (not litrally but you get his point) but thiking about that he has a point, during the years we have been lucky enough to rely on near enough the whole team to chip in with goals. The main thing is the group. Jose's back to back winning title season's we did not really have a fully firing forward while Arsenal and Manchester United still had Theirry Henry and Ruud Van Nisseroy getting 25 plus goals in the season, more often that not that would show but unlike those 2 teams we had goals all over the pitch. John Terry, William Gallas and Ricardo Carvalho were chipping in with over the average number of goals for a centre half, Frank Lampard as usual was getting 20 goals from centre midfield and Arjen Robben, Damien Duff and Joe Cole were scoring often from the wing. Didier Drogba, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Hernan Crepso (Crespo was only here for one of those season's) while were chipping in with a good number of goals it's fair to say they were not challenging Henry or Van Nisseroy for the golden boot but did they care when they were lifting the title at SB? not a chance. Since then our ability to get goals all over the pitch has always made up for not having a 30 goal every season forward, infact the only season there wasn't frequent goals across the pitch (06/07) Drogba had one of his two unbelievable season's and got us 33 goals and when the two (on form forward and goals all over the pitch) both happened in the same season it resulted in a record breaking goal haul in Carlo's first season. Last season none of our forward were on form but goals from all over the pitch saved our season to a extent and got us second place. Our ability to get goals from anywhere on the pitch has always been a key strengh off ours that has not been mentioned enough, and i don't see that ending any time soon. Here are our players that will chip in with goals and i have even missed out our forwards. - Sturridge even as a winger will chip in with goals and Mata has already shown us he will get his fair share. - Frank Lampard for all his knockers will get atleast 10 goals for the next 2-3 seasons even if he gets his role lessered, we should do well to remember that despite having his worse season with us last year and being injured for 4 months he still got us 13 goals. - Malouda and Kalou despite their critics should still get around 8-10 goals and i fully expect Raul Meireles to do the same. - Terry has a great tally for a defender and also David Luiz and Ivanovic will score a few this season aswell. - Ash on a good season will chip in with about 5 and Bosingwa has the potential to do the same. If we can get Torres and/or Drogba firing then this season then great but having on form forward's is not as vital for us as it is for City and United who's forwards will be their main source of goals this season, we have much more goals in other position's than they do. Even with Torres's goal drought we still have a pretty good win record when he has played and i think we have got more points than any-one else since Torres has arrived in the prem and only 4 of our league goals since then have came from Torres (1), Drogba (2) and Anelka (1). Look at City only 2 of their goals have came from any-one other than Aguero and Dzeko, so they will have to be on form all season. Only 6 of United 19 goals have came from a position other than forward. 8 of our goals already have came from positions other than forward and we have not hit top form like them two teams, 9 if you count Anelka as a winger. It would be great if we can get Drogba back on form, Torres firing or even Lukaku hitting the ground running but unlike any other team in the country we have more than enough goals around the rest of the team to compensate if they don't, something United and City do not have to near the same extent as we do, to cut a story short they need their forward on form all season where we can get away with not having a on form forward due to the goals in the rest of our team, bar Drogba in 2009/2010 and 2006/2007 we have not had a truly on top form forward in the Roman era but have been succesful. The complete opposite to the Torres reliant Liverpool in the Rafa era for example, i bet Torres is happy that he can be off form yet still the results remain good. Goals from all over is a key under-rated strength for us and long may it continue.
  21. Sing when there winning planks 95% of them, their sense of entitlement and arrogance if just baffling. Its a shame because the other 5% of United fans are pretty decent just ruined by the others. I may get slated for this but the way Stoke are progressing they will be knocking on the top 6 door before long.
  22. The fullham penalty was not even a pen, the much malinged Smalling on Zhirkov challenge was more on a pen than that, not that the pro Northwest media would agree. The mistake at OT was not all his fault, Alex has made worse mistakes against lesser opposition since yet no-one picks up on that.
