  1. Every one will have a different opinion on which that was and im intrigued to see every one's opinion's on which it was, but for me there was one match imparticular that played a massive and very under-rated part in getting us there. The Sunderland match at Stamford Bridge. The week before we lost to Southampton and on Saturday Arsenal won away to West Brom to put us down to 5th, i was spending my last day in Costa Rica and i said to numerous people there if we lose to Sunderland it would be very very hard to recover considering our run in. I left my location for the airport knowing we were 1-0 down at half time and i was thinking shit this could screw up our season if we get beat here, when i got there i found out we turned it around and won 2-1 and i don't think i have been so relieved before, couple that with Everton getting a draw at the White Hart Lane got us up to 3rd and from then on we went on an unbeaten run to get 3rd place. I still to this day believe that result was the difference between 3rd and 5th, it would have been hard to mentally recover if we fell to a shock defeat there. A scrappy win if ever i seen one, but by far imo our most important result of the season. Do you agree? if not what in your view was the most important result that got us 3rd? The Rafa rant was probably the key action, but im on about results on the pitch
  2. Manuel Almunia summed up in a minute, makes two great saves then flappes at a cross that nearly cost his team a goal
  3. Some of the stuff i read about Mourinho on here and other forums has me laughing me head off. He won't like Mata, he will stifle Hazard and Mata to accomodate Lampard and Essien, two of my personal favorites.
  4. Actually that's wrong, Torres has picked up a bit of form in a competition Ba was ineligible to play in. In the domestic competition's Ba has still outperformed Torres despite not playing that well himself. Doesn't that fact above tho sum Torres up, in the Europa he literally doesn't have any competition at all for his place and played semi decent but Domestically where he has Ba to see off, he plays shit. The key difference between the two is movement, that chance Ba had at Villa Park in the first half, the movement he made to make himself available is something Torres would never do, i know he missed the chance but that's not the point. I know Ba has not had the desired effect that we hoped, but he has been better than Torres, that should not even be debatable.
  5. With the media myth that Mourinho is an ultra defensive coach and the media myth that Luiz can't defend, ofcourse they were going to put 2 and 2 together and come up with this, their so predictable.
  6. As it stands we will have a near 40 man squad for pre season, i highly doubt any one will go out on loan early as Jose will probably want to access who to keep, who to loan out again and who to get rid off. The players who went to the Confederations most probably won't be there for most of it.
  7. Jet lag is over rated, if you time your sleep on the plane properly, your be fine.
  8. What i want to know is what on earth possessed us to double his Liverpool wages. If he was as ambitious as is he claimed he was we should have offered what he was earning there or just a tiny bit above, after all he took a wage cut to leave his boyhood club, so if he really wanted to join Chelsea surely he would have accepted similar wages?
  9. that quote gets taken far to literally these days.
  10. Matic fair point, but what on earth has Stoch done since he has left?
  11. The funny thing is he did, he just got lucky this time, guess he deserves it tho.
  12. Well it certainly didn't happen under Jose in Madrid, the guy is finished as a top class footballer, he could be used as an extra body to fill in against the shite sides, but anyone in the quality of Swansea and above, he should be as far away from the sub's bench as possible, let alone the starting Xl
  13. Mikel would be decent squad player (hopefully back up to De Rossi). Torres on the other hand, how it's even debatable whether or not we should keep him is beyond me.
  14. Didn't Barca pay a first refusal fee of around £10m a while back? if so that would make the overall fee including all that nearer to £40m.
  15. Jose sorted out our phobia of Arsenal 9 years ago, he needs to do the same with City this time.
  16. Last time Jose (with help from Drogba) sorted out our phobia of facing Arsenal. Now he needs to do the same with City.
  17. Even tho it is only a friendly, the longer we go without beating a team, the longer it will play on a teams mind. A couple of years without beating Arsenal soon turned into one of the longest unbeaten sequences in football history.
  18. This turning into Arsenal when we face City isn't even funny any more. Hoefully Jose will sort this shit out.
  19. Essien played 19 league games last season for Madrid and i didn't watch them atall last season but im guessing not many off them were starts. If you think Mourinho will throw away title's because he has a touch of nostalgia you are being paranoid.
  20. It wasn't Pirlo's age in itself that made people skeptical (well that is the general consensus i got anyway) it was because at the time we were already full with experiences players in their early 30's especially in centre midfield (Lampard, Ballack, Deco), which is why we were were skeptical i think. Back then we needed a young player or 2 to even it out. Now it's the opposite, we have a young talented squad and someone of De Rossi's experience is just what we need.
  21. If this happened before we signed Mata and Hazard i would have been jealous as hell. As it happens now we have those two im not really that bothered.
  22. When? in 2009/2010? Drogba was better than him by far that season.
  23. Actually he is not, Yossi said when he signed here how Rafa treated him like shit, said stuff like "the fans want you to start next game Yossi, i don't know why". As crap as Yossi is now, i would have him over Marin, im not one to write players off too soon but i atleast try and look for glimpses in a player, Marin whenever he has played has shown me nothing to suggest he could become even a decent squad player for us. If we kept Kalou instead of signing this clown we would have finished 2nd.
