  1. Is he still out off contract at Swansea in June? With Hilario and Turnbull out of contract (i assume they haven't been given a new one, i was away out of civilasation for 3months after all ) at the end of the season, i really think he would make a good and reliable number two for us, and finally won't have me panicking when Cech's injured/rested. EDIT: never mind, just found out he signed a new contract with Swansea until 2015 .
  2. So did Gotze, unless he sign's a new contract we would be a good position to get this guy at a relative low price. We can't let this opportunity slide, surely?
  3. Didn't know his contract ended next year, thought he was on long term (meaning we would have to pay through the nose for him). Sign him up, £12m should do it.
  4. To be fair to him he did end his Chelsea career on a high in the CL run, through sheer determination. Atleast he put effort in at times with us, QPR dont even get that Hopefully Torres can end a torrid Chelsea career on a high a similar way to what Bosingwa did and win us the EL.
  5. His defensive incompitence always over-weighed any attacking abilities he had, in the big games especially we were conceding many silly goals because of his terrible positioning and weak tackling, case in point Park's goal at Stamford Bridge in 2008. I don't mean to sound cynical, but him not being available for most of 2009/2010 won us the title. No way would we have got 6/6 against the big four if he played as much as one of them. It may be harsh calling him the worse player, but he is certainly the worst right back i have seen play for us (in nearly 20 years).
  6. I personally thought he was shit even in his first season defensively, his saving grace back then was that he was a little better going forward. After the 1-2 loss to Arsenal i was calling for Ferreira to come back in.
  7. Win the next 3 and 3rd is ours. We are like a team possessed at the moment and think we can do it.
  8. Going to vote Cahill MOTM today, thought he was outstanding and made a few vital tackles that prevented shots on goal. Was skeptical when he started but good decision by Rafa.
  9. in all honesty i think Fergie can pick who he wants. United have done their job this season, its not their fault others aint done theirs.
  10. Newcastle were an embarrisement, how the fuck did they finish above us last season?
  11. Too reckless, should play defensive midfield
  12. Moyes and Pellegrini don't have much trophies to their name, but that is where the comparison's end. Moyes has spent years in a low pressured job, yes he has done fantastic keeping them competitive every season but lets put it into perspective, Big Sam did the same at Bolton, if he stayed at Bolton to this day and carried on, would he be on that poll above? If Roy didn't ruin his reputation at Liverpool, would we be calling for him due to his miracle work at Fulham? Infact if Hughes stayed at Blackburn to this day we would almost certainly be calling for him too. Pellegrini has got shitloads of CL experience, he is the only manager to break the Madrid-Barca stranglehold in nearly a decade and at Madrid got them 96 points, he took on the biggest job in football and done well, he was very unlucky that he happened to go there at the same time one of the best teams off all time were at the peak of their powers. Pellegrini has proven he can handle a massive job, where as Moyes, hasn't.
  13. Say we had Falcao this season, no the problems in the rest of our team would not have gone away, but they would have looked a lot less troubling, the same way a lot of issue's at United are covered up by RVP, the same way Drogba's form in 09/10 covered up some obvious sign's we were in decline. The CWC final for example, if it had been Falcao instead of Nando, Radamel would have finished for the first chance and positioned himself better (IE not been offside) for the 2nd, bobs your uncle a shite performance but two moments of utter class by a world class forward getting us the win. That would have also happened many times in the league with Falcao also.
  14. Make no mistake, this will be a huge statement of intent.
  15. Can we tho? Lewa is most likely going to Bayern and Cavani will cost just as much if not more. Those 3 and RVP (we missed the boat big time there) are the best four forwards in world football right now, if were serious about getting back with the big boys, one of these is what's going to get us there.
  16. I can understand people wanting Lewa or Cavani over Falcao, but not wanting the Colombian full stop?
  17. If Torres is so insistent of staying we make him 3rd choice forward and if he wants his place, he can earn it by good performances in training and on the pitch, like Drogba and every other forward in our history has had to do.
  18. The midfield we have now, the striker doesn't really need to be that complete or even play well half the time, just succeed in where Fernando fails and do the basics right. Gomez would thrive with the trio behind him.
  19. Thats two pens they have got away with already, don't forget the one against Milan too.
  20. Pique is the most over rated defender i have ever seen, put him up against a really good forward and he is tripping over himself.
  21. Its a bit steep but if he gets similar goal average's to what he has been getting at Bayern Munich then i won't complain. Obviously i would prefer Falcao, Cavani or Lewa but we could do a lot worse imo.
