  1. When you think to how much Vidic (a year younger than Terry) is struggling for Inter Milan, then it makes you realise just how well Terry is doing to maintain the high level he has been doing.
  2. I'm going to jump in at the deep end here, bringing Benitez In as interim was spot on for the evolution of the club, even more so in hindsight.
  3. Win this and we effectively knock a fixture off our hectic December schedule. If top spot is secure going into match day 6 we can give all our untouchables a night off.
  4. I'm starting to think one off Liverpool or Spurs might get dragged into a relegation fight, not even joking!!!!!!
  5. @xpetrcechx There will be if they get dumped to Europe.
  6. @BlueLyon the small games were out problem in recent season's, our big game record last season was great and even under Rafa it was decent, it was these type of games that were our achilies heel. It certainly isn't only West Brom to us as before yesterday we won 1 in our last 5 against them.

  8. @lionsden sorry for the late reply I didn't get your quote notification. Basically I'm 23 and Terry in the back to back title years is as good as anyone I've ever seen, he was the one untouchable in the defence yet no matter who was partnering him or at full back our defence was ridiculously solid. Cech deserves massive credit for that as well.
  9. Nine games one goal, that's another excuse down the drain (he needed a move to get back to his former self). Surely even his biggest fan boy's can just accept that he's just a shit footballer now.
  10. If and that's a big If Cech goes to Arsenal, we should get Ospina put in as part off the package, it would save us the hassle of having to search for a new number 2.
  11. Honestly i think Robbie was told to play Torres, lets be honest Robbie wasn't even under consideration pre Munich and even that didn't suddenly change things either, while on Robbie's hand this was his dream job, the pinnacle of his career, the club he loves. Roman on the other hand simply settled for him, he probably said that he can have the job under the condition Nando plays unless he is banned or injured, RDM wanted the job so much he probably just said yeah whatever, if he refused then he wouldn't have got his dream job. Its no coincidence Torres got dropped in that Juve match and we went in without a striker, RDM knew he was gone and that was a message, he was as sick of Torres as we were.
  12. I was literally about to start a thread for him myself. We could negotiate a decent(ish) price and they are desperate for Bertrand which could work in our favour to, also unless he is a duracell bunny like JT, Ivan will need slowly replacing sooner rather than later. Our homegrown core needs boosting and Clyne is as good as any around.
  13. Not that I think we should sign him but I can't help but chuckle at the "we should prioritise our own youth first" line. Imagine if we decided to decline Frank Lampard to focus on Jody Morris or not sign Joe Cole because Anthony Grant was coming through the ranks? Just saying.
  14. Terry didn't have pace but he more than made up for it with his anticipation and football brain, i remember David Villa saying something on them lines years back when asked who the toughest defender he ever faced was. Adams was the same he had such a high footballing brain that his lack of pace wasn't even a remote issue, both him and JT captained (atleast statically) the two best defences in English football history. Regarding Rio he had concentration issues when he was younger, but between 2006-2010 he was up there with the very best, at one point he didn't commit a foul for two years or something ridiculous like that.
  15. Build it around him but also maintain the team balance which let's be honest is practically happening anyway. That's why I'm not convinced about the Reus rumours, to supplement Eden s freedom Oscar and Willian run around like dogs to maintain the balance of the team, will Reus do that? Because for as long as Hazard is here this team is his, hypothetically speaking. That's why Sanchez would have been perfect for this team, he does donkey work with the end product Willy lacks, him and Eden together would have eclipsed Duff and Robben.
  16. Now that's going a bit too far.
  17. How much has he improved on his mental aspects? what was noticeable when he was here was that when he made a mistake his head dropped and was a wreck for the rest of the game. At £5m i guess he could be worth the gamble, he defiantly has talent.
  18. Thats what i think, if he can get more goals great but honestly if i was offered 10 years of Hazard at this current level i would snap their arm off and munch on the carcass, then ask them where i sign.
  19. Thats why i don't want Hazard to focus too much on becoming a goalscorer, too many players these days try too hard to improve weaknesses there strengths stagnate and they don't progress the way they should as a player (Lukaku for example, yes he scores goals but he doesn't make full use of his size like he should). Thats why Bale is where he is because he accepted the stuff he wasn't great at and focused on his main strength's like pace, athletism, power, if he tried to become something he wasn't and focused too much on improving his technical/skill side of the game, he would have got nowhere. Hopefully Eden carry's on prioritising what he's great at, which is dribbling, creating, drive etc etc being a 10 shot a game merchant is the last thing i want to see Eden try and turn into.....
  20. Honestly i would put all off JT, Adams and Ferdinand in that top section, ultimately the primary job in defending is to defend and when they were at their prime they were amoungts the best i have ever seen defensively. All 3 captained sides that broke all sorts of defensive records.
  21. I couldn't disagree more with @billy here, Terry in his prime was the best defender in his generation, in fact ill go one further and say he is one off the best off all time. Carvalho and Gallas were world class without a shadow of a doubt tho, but Terry was something special, the fact even now at 34 nearly he is still maintaining a very high level says it all. I use to love the myth Carvalho made him look better than he was, made me laugh every time, JT is brilliant whoever is beside him from Carvalho to Cahill right down to Ben Ham.
  22. I don t understand the stick he gets. Last season when he got a run of games he was pretty decent (and for the sudden Moses lovers out there, he was not getting any play time for Liverpool due to beyond dreadful performance) not amazing level but enough to suggest he could be a good squad player here. This season he has made carling cup starts and a few sub apps here and there, while he hasn't been great it's hardly a big sample size is it? Check out the Bosingwa, Torres, Marin and Turnbull threads, when I believe a player deserves criticism I'm one of the harshest on here I really don't hold back, I just don't believe Salah deserves as much stick as he gets.
  23. Roy Hodgsons such a poor manager it's pain full. England haven't been great for years but it has never been this bad, he is utterly clueless. If the FA insist on having an English manager then Big Sam should get the job.
  24. @choulo , yeah, I'll try and work ways around it, at least I can post right now which was in doubt yesterday
