  1. Both the times he's failed to win the title here, we were chasing for the most part and always seemed to drop points when we had a serious chance to close in on the top. P.S. I know we were top a lot in 13/14 but the games in hand for the other teams made that position false.
  2. I agree with everything you said, I was just trying to show some here how ridiculous they sounded when they did the same excuses and false hope for Torres Safe to say you've been baited
  3. That's the thing, Bent didn't fail to deliever, I brought him u because he is similar to Lukaku in terms of the fact he is a very good PL goalscorer but lacks the all round game to make it to the very very top. If Lukaku does get a gig at a top club again he will score goals that I have no doubt, but the best teams need more than just that from a forward, despite being a roaring personal success, United actually suffered big time as a collective while Van Nisseroy was there.
  4. Long quick passes from CM to RW isolate him 1 on 1 with the fullback and he will be back. Modric and a fullback who releases the ball quick would be perfect for him.
  5. If we want to compete on all fronts 4 goes into 3 very easily.
  6. Possibly but it was the same in 13/14, we were chasing and whenever there was a serious chance to close in on top position we pissed it up the wall, like against Sunderland especially.
  7. Shaw, Sterling, Stones and whoever came through in the academy, could have been the HG/English core sorted for another decade, 1 out of 3 is a start tho
  8. I showed concern about our early fixtures, most were happy we were getting tough fixtures out of the way first, under Mourinho that's not so good. Most of Mous titles have come by setting the pace and staying there come hell or high water, he's never been one for chasing teams down.
  9. The fact is he actually is a brilliant young player with all the tools to be a top bracket player. A few years ago English players did get a lot of unjustified hype but now it's gone too far the other way and people don't even want to rate English players it seems. For me he is the best young defender save for Varane and the Frenchman is well out of reach.
  10. Top 10, top 5 on best form? Roll back 5 years and that was Darren Bent, yet I wouldn't have him at Chelsea.
  11. -----------------------Courtois------------------- Zouma-------Cahill-------Terry------Azpi -------------------Matic-------Ramires------- Cuadrado-----------Oscar-----------Hazard --------------------------Costa---------------------- Cuadrado thrives 1 on 1, we need to set the tactics to suit that and get him in those situations, the away crowd need to chant his name and show him support too.
  12. Give him more service and he will thrive, saw glimpses that he is back to his best on Sunday.
  13. Cuadrado will come good, he just needs more service and the team built around him, he's much better than Willian.
  14. I disagree, with the youth of the AMs at the time expierence was crucial up top, Hazard touched up on how much playing with Eto'o helped his development. Also watching both play together for Everton I thought Eto'o was still a notch above him. Styles I think said it right after the 6-3 "two strikers with a point to prove but only one had the quality to make it (the point)".
  15. Costa does that quite a lot with his teammates. You can only imagine the verbals Torres would have been on the recieving end off.
  16. Eto'o was a masterstroke, we couldn't find a marquee striker that summer in fact Jose knew that Costa was coming next summer by all accounts so brought him in, wasn't prime Eto'o but gave a lot to the team and saved us a season of Torres playing most weeks. Drogba was for the dressing room influence, a lot of the squad didn't have the winning mentality as of that time, and as you could see in the title celebrations Didiers influence was paramount in the dressing room. Falcao however, looks a completely pointless signing.
  17. Luiz didn't play in midfield until Liverpool under Jose so for the first 6 months we were picking between Mikel, Lampard and Rami, which were awful options for a club our size, in defence we have the same as now just Zouma instead of Luiz and Baba instead of Cole, were better in attack although I do prefer the Eto'o of 13/14 over Remy. Only attacking midfield we are significantly weaker than 13/14, tbh we haven't really had a super strong squad of 23 since 2008.
  18. We only really had depth in attacking midfield thst season. Schwarzer was average, defense and mid field lacked depth and our only good striker was a 33 year old Eto'o.
  19. Do you mean the team or the squad? He was on the bench vs Swansea.
  20. Remy is out of favour, so rightly or wrongly he has to make use of any chance he is given, whether that's the CL semi at the Camp Nou or a freindly against Wimbledon.
  21. The thing is Matic can hit them but for some reason doesn't these days. He scored some screamers for Benfica.
  22. And if he doesn't come good we should build the team around him, never play then eventually sell off his superior competition and give him unconditional minutes every game.Oh and chant his name loud and proud every time he concedes a turnover and declare him as"back to his best" every time he doesn't
  23. Tbf he gave Remy the nod at Wembley and he made an absolute pig ears of it. Although having said that I can't think of why Falcao was preffered apart from his chemistry with Costa.
  24. He may be worse in terms of performance but he will never be a bigger flop or worse signing than Torres.
