  1. Who's your favroite person to ever represent Chelsea? Can be a player or a manager.
  2. Or he's just better than his competition.
  3. If your comparing it to current form then yes hard not to be, but if your comparing to best form under Jose (especially first half of last season) then no not even close. His famous complacent 0-0s vs mid table sides has crept up twice at Real already.
  4. Because Rafa is well known for superb attacking football.............
  5. So because we are the better team we shouldn't bother trying to nullify the threats of the opposition, like Yarmalenko (spelling) who would have had a field day against Baba. That type of "were the better team so dont need to worry about defense" cost Brendan Rodgers a Premier League title.
  6. Umm so you forget to mention Courtois, Matic, Hazard, Cesar, Costa? On that list we got the second best keeper in the world, one of the best DM when on form, arguably the 3rd best player in the world, the best fullback in the world and one of the best strikers, look a really grim, doesn't it?And how did he "destroy" the squad? He inherited an unbalanced mess of a squad, to which he added world class reinforcements on a minimul net spend, any other manager in world football would get praised to high hills for that. So we kept KDB, Mata and Lukaku, I'm guessing your front 3 behind the forward would be Mata, Hazard and KDB? That's a spice boy front 3 if ever I seen one.
  7. How exactly? We were signing some good young players circa 10-13 yes, but there was absolutely no balance to the signings, we entered 12-13 with our squad in a similar position to Holland's now, good players under 24 and over 30 but no one in their prime, well Ramires maybe. If we kept the transfer policy of 10-13 to this very day I can almost guarantee we wouldn't have won a league title or come close too any time soon, we would have been the second coming of Liverpool's 'spice boys', in fact for that short spell of Di Matteo here full time that's exactly what we were.
  8. To add to it, when the players ran riot under AVB these same people were banging on about how much of a bad example we were letting players have control and how a manager should always have full control of the team and even stick the boot in occasionally, now we've got that they are screaming and shouting about the players getting disrespected.Criticised for having player power, now we have a manager in charge fully people basically saying we should return to those days
  9. In some ways I disagree, ultimately with Ivanovic damage is already done, he's not going to improve he's in the twilight of his career, won it all, so him getting some chastening experiences isn't THAT big a thing in the grande scheme of things. Whereas Baba, at such a young age, getting ripped to pieces week in week out can destroy him mentally, different level but I played with a lad that is a great keeper, when we were both 18 he lost his form for a few weeks and had so much self doubt he quit, he tried to make a comeback a few months ago did ok but didn't have the mental stength to make a comeback, constantly blaming goals on himself that he could have done nothing about. Where Mou went wrong was allowing ourselves to get in this situation, but now we are in it I can understand the need to blood Baba slowly, I mean Zouma was in a similar situation this time last yeAr, looked dead nervous when he played, now look at him.
  10. Who is your favroite person that has represented Chelsea? Can be either a player or a manager.
  11. I seem to be alone but I'm not big on Bamford, if we were going to promote one of our own to the squad, I'd rather Solanke comes in.
  12. Now while I think Mourinho has gone a bit too far in this instance, I don't understand why its scoffed at when people ask about how good wingers are defensively.Look at Azpilcueta, he's as solid as you can get as a defender but isn't even considered when talking about the best fullbacks in the world because he isn't the best going forward. It's one rule for defenders and another for attackers.
  13. You can blame the manager, Pellegrini puts no effort in defending and it holds City back, give Mou or even Rafa Kompany, Managala and Otamensi with Fernandinho in front and our defensive record of 04/05 will be under threat. That's why I didn't jump on the Mangala is a flop bandwagon because even Beckenbauer in his prime would look a shadow of his true self playing under Pellegrini or any so called football purist.
  14. If I recall correct Lionsden said it initially about November last season and not one single poster at that time replied in agreement, which brings me back to form, take Fab for example, even in his good form last season his off the ball weakness was still obvious, I remember bringing it up at one point and it felt like I was facing his legal defence team whereas people say the same thing now and get shit load of 'likes'.A lot of opinions shift depending on form, I'm not directing that at you, I'm talking in general.
  15. Every player bar Ronaldo and Messi has dips in form over a long season, even if replace Costa with someone else, he will have dips in form, if that said forwards dip in form coincides with a Lukaku good spell of form, are we going to have to hear all this "should have kept Lukaku" every single time? Every time Tibo let's in a goal on the same weekend Cech keeps a clean sheet? Now I don't mind people thinking Lukaku is as good if not better than Costa, its just annoying that these posts are only coming out now when they have a position of strength due to the current form of both, I honestly don't think Lukaku is anywhere near as good as Costa, I said that last season when Costa got 9 in 5 and Lukaku was getting outperformed by 33 year old Eto'o, I say the same now when the Brazilians not in good form and Romelu is. What's worst is theirs so much pining over Lukaku and KDB (admitedtly I'm starting to swing to the mistake side of the fence regarding his sale tho) that its almost forgotten we actually still have two exceptionally talented Belgium players, the best keeper of this upcoming generation and imo the best after the two super freaks (like with Costa, it will take more than two months to deter my opinion), if Tibo and Eden (who are still OUR players) got half the appreciation and passionate defences on here that the two ex Belgium blues get, this place would be such a happier place.
  16. It's better than it was last year, couldn't be much worse really, but he is still phone to awful decisions which keep stalling him. I knew this would happen as soon as Lukaku has a good spell at the same time Costa has a bad run, i said that this time last yeAr actually. In fact, this time last year Costa had 9 in 5 while Lukaku was getting outperformed by a 33 year old Eto'o, I'm sorry but 8 games is just too small sample siZe to say he's caught Costa.
  17. If 13/14 was anything to go by we are probably waiting for the right player, I mean, when Jose returned he could have seen the CM issue panic and sign Guarin and Paulinho, instead he waited and we ended up with Matic and Cesc.
  18. Doesn't mean he can't be, but he isn't right now, I don't think he will be but if I'm proved wrong I'll hold my hands up, if we're both still on here in a few years we can come back to this properly, look at say Martial, some people think he can Be as good as Henry, but until he proves it in the same levels Henry did, that will always be an if, same with Lukaku/Costa. And I say Remy and Bent because they were both promising as youngsters but never really hit the potential people thought they had, Bent was getting linked with all the big clubs after his debut season at Charlton and Remy had lots of hype as a youngster.
  19. Costa led Leti to a title and the Champions League final then came here and lead the line in a walkway title win, two months of average form (where he has still had great games in the midst of it) and all off a sudden Lukaku is as good? Lukaku may be only 22 but realistically what can he improve on? He's not going to suddenly become a technical genius, his level right now is his ceiling in my opinion, a good PL level goalscorer like Darren Bent and even our very own Remy.
  20. He was great in his first season, but was as responsible as anyone for the disaster off a second season, Mourinho may be frustrating now persisting with Ivanovic, but that frustration was times six with Carlo when Malouda, Lampard, Anelka, Kalou, Cole and Essien kept playing despite being god awful.
  21. Sturridge and Kakuta? Both started one league game each and made minimul appearances off the bench outside the domestic cups, if Carlo gets praised for those two, then Jose deserves credit for.RLC, Zouma, Varane (who funnily enough was brought in the team.by Jose and back out again under Carlo) and Kennedy. Also Sturridge was clearly ready in 10/11, yet Carlo persisted with Malouda and Anelka in the worst form of their careers, if Mou did anything like that there will be lost after post slating him. I didn't really follow his youth integration at Madrid (Varane having his game time reduced was world wide knowledge) but here, he was hardly youth friendly.
  22. His tactics in his second season make Mourinho of now look like his 2005 self, and if you want Ivanovic and Cesc dropped then Carlo is the last manager we should get anywhere near here, if they are undrippable now, they will have their place under lock and key under Carlo.
  23. Gary Neville done some analysis on Matic in that game, he had a good game stats wise but his positioning was all over the place at times, including for Evertons opening goal. I remember when Luiz had games were he stormed it statiscally but made a few mistakes which rendered his impressive stats meaningless, I'm not trying to compare the two, just putting some perspective on it.
  24. Not to mention Ivan and Cesc would be even more untouchable under Carlo than they are now, it seems to be forgotten he played Malouda, Lampard, Anelka unconditionally despite them being absolute rubbish all season.
