  1. Would you have Sturridge back?
  2. Costa in three seasons was a perfect foil to Falcao leading Atletico to Copa Del Rey win, then after Radamels departure he led Leti to the title and CL final against all the odds and came here and led us to the title in his first season in England, scoring over 20 goals in all season's. Four months of bad form and all off a sudden Lukaku is better? Sorry just can't agree with that.
  3. No comments on him scoring tonight? Or Does it not fit the narrative as he was not sold by Jose.
  4. And you reckon most don't work at it? I can imagine Ramires has tried really hard to be better with the ball at his feet but we are still waiting for the improvement. In fact I'd rather Zouma didn't try to hard to improve it and stick to his strengths, which is pace, power and tackiling, look at Bale, he isn't the best technical player but accepted that, focused on his athleticsm and now look at him.
  5. Those things will never be really improved on, technical skill is something you either have or you don't. Vidic was like a terrified kid with the ball at his feet but he had Ferdinand there. That's why he should be partnered long term with a technically astute centre half, let's hope we can still pull Stones out of the hat.
  6. Also the Dutch league isn't known for defending, so if we're looking at the stats in context of how far is he from being first team quality here, not too impressive either.I'm not judging him he's only 17, but I would give him 2/3 years at Vittese then see where he's at, got high hope a for him mind.
  7. I wasn't hear in 2008 but the forum I was on, some of the reactions towards Drogba for most of that year, especially after Moscow and against Burnley were not to dissimilar to what's on here now.
  8. Surprised this hasn't been mentions yet but looks like he's back at the weekend. Result.
  9. That's the thing, when they had the chance we didn't have 11 men behind the ball, there lack of urgency allowed us to regroup. Remy wouldn't have made much difference, we were struggling with our decision making in the final 3rd and Remy would have made that worse.
  10. They had numerous chances in the game to break at us with pace but blew it by slowing the game down and letting us reorganize, in fact they had a last second free kick and a great chance to ping it in the box and see what happens but what do they do? Pass it back to the defense. We maybe could have been a little more adventurous given our position in the table, but let's not pretend Spurs were going all out to win this because they were just as happy with the point if not more.
  11. There's a difference between controlling possession and controlling the game. Spurs showed no urgency to counter attack whatsoever, we did.
  12. And United? Regular attacking patterns that some crave only really City have it properly.
  13. Spurs were worse, they had so many counter chances but passed it back to defence, we showed a lot more urgency on the counter than they did.
  14. Apart from City every team in the league isn't very good attacking wise, and they sacrafise defense to be good attack. The only difference between us and United/Spurs this season is the defence.
  15. We were making awful decisions with the final move, Remy added to that would have Sent me into meltdown. But having said that he might have tucked away that chance Pedro had from the Alderwierld mistake.
  16. Getting there, final move is still a bit flakey but in general play on and off the ball has been a lot better since Stoke really. Hopefully we can go on a run now.
  17. Disappointed not to win, but apart from final move we are looking a lot better.
  18. Van Gaal takes the phrase boring to new dimensions.
  19. Ever since Saints he has been trying different things to get this team out of this rut. That's good compared to the other managers who we had shit storm under basically kept the same tactics, system and line up for the most part juat hoping it would fall back into place.
  20. We won 4-2 in 2012, funnily enough no Terry that day.
  21. 4 times in PL history, never back to back, never at The Bridge. Every time indeed.
  22. Zouma, Varane, Huth, Santon, Kenedy Sinclair off the top of my head. Yes his record could be better but let's not pretend he's never played young players.
  23. Before this season Ruben has never played in a competitive match where there was something riding on the result (well 30 seconds against City excepted), he's being eased in similar to how Zouma was, if he's still struggling for minutes this time next year ill agree with now, but for now, he's fine. Kenedy has had some decent minutes and Jose has been quite proactive in his development, we had this discussion before but for me he could make a good left Back in time, put it this way if Pellegrini gave Patrick Roberts the minutes Jose has given this lad, there would be post after post in the Engish football thread raving about how well the Chilean is doing blooding him. Traore is the one big disappointment, should have got more minutes.
  24. Doesn't mean he has to play them, how many minutes did Lukaku get under AVB?
