  1. Or we could get shot of both and sign a striker who is actually good enough......
  2. We played 7 games without Ivanovic during his injury and conceded 8. Since his return 9 games 6 conceded. Ivanovic is passed it and needs replacing but droppinghim won't magically turn our form around.
  3. Conor Clifford, hit the winner in 2010 youth cup as captain, some fans wanted him not only promoted but groomed as Terrys successor, guess where he is now? Boreham wood Van Aanholt is soooo good going forward, the fact he didn't get a shot here just goes to show how bad he is a defender, seriously, he makes Bosingwa look like Lahm. As for Mancienne, hell knows where he is now, same asyou last I heard Hamburg.
  4. Supporters are so separate to see youth with some its got the point they want a teenager more than if they are that good. We could have a 17 year old Mancienne here and some people will have a meltdown if he doesn't start.
  5. Martial, Hazard or one of the keepers should have got it, only Rooney can miss an open goal with three minutes to go on a semi decent display for his recent standards and have a wankfest on him. It's like some Chelsea fans every time Torres actually completed a pass, "he's back", "so much better".
  6. How the fucking hell has Rooney got MOTM
  7. Liverpool after Suarez left played terrible football.
  8. United were crap after half hour, it's going to cringeworthy listening to all the hype in next couple of days. For us, embarrising first half, a lot better in the second, 3 without defeat, Hiddink will get us there.
  9. They all probably went to the toilet last couple of minutes.
  10. While Jose made a mistake with KDB that transfer policy had so many flaws, we were signing nimble players and not thinking about team balance, if we carried on that way we would have been Liverpool spice boys mark 2.
  11. Because he doesn't know the team well at the minute and is probably listening to the coaching staff for now, he got hired out of the blue and had 2/3 days of training before a hectic Christmas period. After Palace, Guus will have a lot of preparation time between games, if nothing's changed then we can crtitise, but not much that can be done right now.
  12. He was never going to change much in this period with a few days training then the festive schedule. After the Scunthorpe game will be when we know what (if any) changes Guus will make.
  13. He never really got the chance too impress, first season Malouda and Cole were in the form of their lives and second season we were such a mess. Wouldn't have minded him staying on under AVB but we got a good offer for him all things considered.
  14. This current job is probably perfect for Guus for the remainder of the season, this is like 2009 in a more extreme case, he is a good 'save us' manager, and his relaxed approach helped with players who were fed up with Scolari and probably will with this team this time as relationships with Jose became untenable. Holland he flopped but as he said himself, they were actually on course to recover under his control, but they have different profile of players to what we do, that squad relished life under Van Gaal (a strict gaffer) and they responded more to that than the freeer approach Guus offers, Turkey and Russia got beat in the playoffs, that can happen.
  15. I noticed it especially because I went away for 2 months between the Reading game and Saints game and watched all games inbetween in one go pretty much (full games) and one of the things I noticed was how much he dropped off, it probably had a fair bit to do with burnout in his defense but he was every bit as poor in that period as Cesc has been this season. An on the second point fair enough, however his flaws were still obvious even in his prime for us, but one thing that was widely known as Matas strongest point was his final ball and assists, even out of position under AVB he was still assisting, and with 4 last season, Oscar and Willian get slated for having similar low numbers in a season The main point of what I responded to Parky tho was the fact he criticised Jose for letting Mata go, it might have been painful on a personal level letting him go especially there, but on a footballing level for me it defiantly wasn't a mistake and £37m was a steal for us. On a side not it wouldhave been intersting if Mata went before KDB, Salah came in and played a lot of games as the 5th attacking midfielder, so De Bruyne might have got a fair bit of game time too, so maybe he would have stayed if Mata went first.
  16. He was number ten in second half of 12/13 when he started to go off the boil. Also, out of position is an excuse to a point, but not for how much he's gone off the boil. Anelka, Modric, Azpilicueta, David Silva, Bale, prime Ivanovic, were played out of their best positions and did well.
  17. Mata has lost form in early 2013 and hasn't been anywhere near the same since. KDB fair enough, but Mata has shown nothing to suggest selling him was a mistake, infact last season he only got 4 assists, Oscar and Willian have got critisised for low numbers but for a supposed creative genius to only get 4 assists in a season is awful.
  18. I swear Costa will never get to play against United.
  19. I didn't see the game because I was sleeping off a hangover, but let me guess the unpredictable camera team zoomed in on Hiddink when Watford scored their goals?
  20. Ake isn't here right now so we can cross that Bridge when we come to it. I quite liked Azpi at left back but we can't carry on with just Ivan at RB rest of season, which means Baba needs some competition which could come in Kenedy.
  21. Most of the fullbacks good at attacking start further forward, Pizczek (spelling) was a striker until 24 for example.
  22. I really hope Guus carries on what Jose started and gives Kenedy some games at left back, really think he can moulded well in that position.
  23. From what I have seen of Tottenham under him and head about his Zenit side they make LVGs United look entertaining. I'm not that bothered about flashy football, but there's not playing "great" football (Simeone, Mou) then there's LVG and AVB.
  24. That wasn't far off how I felt when Moutinho left in 2007 (bar the Roman should leave and players bashing), back then he should have stayed at least till the end of the season, this time it was the right decision.
  25. Hiddink is probably perfect for the job now, a team at rock bottom, his relaxed approach and freedom of playing im sure will get a reaction out of the squad. However if he recovers this season to respectable levels in the league and wins the FA Cup and if we're incredibly lucky the CL, he should leave it there, will he have the hunger to start from scratch at 70? And also we have seen with Dalglish, Advocaat and RDM that amazing 'save us' interim spells don't usually translate to the form continuing when they get the full time gig, and it will kill me if Hiddink has another great interim spell only to have a horrible shot at it full time.
